2 Room configuration The three areas of the bathroom The key to a functional bathroom is a systematic evaluation of the room s potential and the user and carer s needs. An examination needs to be made of space requirements, turning areas, and the typical manoeuvres at the washing, toileting and showering areas of the bathroom. TOILETING Using support arms which are both vertically as well as horisontally adjustable enables different users to find the proper support when using the toilet. The length and stability of the support arms provide security during tranfers to and from the toilet. WASHING Having the correct height to wash can be critical to many people. The wash basin bracket is ideal if many people share the wash basin. Users who need to sit or stand have the best opportunity to be independent - and thus to achieve greater dignity and satisfaction - when the wash basin can be adjusted to the correct height at all times. SHOWERING A high degree of flexibility is the key when designing a functional bathroom. Using a shower seat which is both vertically and horisontally adjustable means that good working height can be obtained for the carer while the user sits in the chair. Adding a hand and shower rail corner with a shower mixer bracket means that both right as well as left-handed users needs can be accomodated. When it is mounted on a horizontal track at the recommended height (823 mm), the height of the support arm can be adjusted from 605 to 855 mm measured from the floor to the top edge of the support arm. Horizontal wall track, 2700 mm R9908 R9908 The horizontal track makes it possible to slide products along the wall and thereby creating flexibility for both the user and the carer. 4 Wash basin brackets, 300 mm adj. height, with gas cylinder, lever control R4760 R4760 When it is mounted at the recommended height (horizontal track: 823 mm), the wash basin s height can be adjusted from 667 to 967 mm measured from the floor to the top edge of the wash basin. As a standard R4760 is supplied with gas cylinder for wash basins weighing 16-20 kg. Also available with gas cylinders for wash basins weighing 8-12 and 12-16 kg respectively. The rounded shapes are nice to grip and lean against. The design of the corners leaves space and supports the elbows in the basin. The flat bottom leaves space for the legs of a seated user. Tap for wash basin, long rotatable spout RT622 RT621 RT622 The ring-shaped operating lever is specifically suitable for users who find it difficult to use common levers. The long, rotatable spout makes it easier for a seated user to reach the water, and the spout can be swung to one side. The symbols of hot and cold water are clear from both a seated and a standing position. Eco-temp at 40º protects against scalding, and the water-saving Eco-effect gives the choice between a moderate flow and a full flow. The preset moderate flow level can be adjusted. The diameter of the rail is 33 mm - broad enough to push against, small enough to grip. 6 Shower head holder for vertical handrail RT600 RT600 The design of the shower head holder makes height adjustment easy with one hand or hands with little strength. The angle of the shower head can be adjusted as wanted by a click-system. Mounted on a handrail of 1000 mm the shower head holder is suitable for both seated and standing users. At the same time the handrail will offer good support. Shower head, 3 spray modes (standard, soft, massage) RT611 RT611 Weight 170 g. The curved shape of the handle and the weight balance between head and handle makes the shower head suitable for hands with little strength. An adjustment ring makes it easy to change the spray mode. The silicon spray jets are easy to keep free of lime. A shower hose of 2000 mm and swivel joints give a big radius of action. Materials: Powder-lacquered aluminium, plastics. Mixer bracket mounting on horizontal track RT756 RT756 1200 mm feed pipes included. The shower head holder can be mounted on the right or the left side according to need. The shower mixer bracket fits valve fittings that have 151 mm pipe centres. The movable shower mixer bracket makes individual placing of the shower head and shower mixer possible. At the shower chair, at the wash basin for hair washing, at the toilet for bidet function. The spring lock features adjustable spring tension for individual adjustment. 7 CareSystem Mounting and adjustment The illustrations below show how the products are mounted and adjusted both horizontally and vertically. The procedures vary slightly from product to product. Horizontal track Mounting on the horizontal track. The product is placed on the track. The product is positioned and adjusted horizontally. The product is tightened in place with an Allen key, screwdriver or spring lock, depending on the type of product. Attachment and adjustment on the horizontal track. Allen key/screwdriver These are used for most of the products. If the product needs to be moved horizontally, the lock should be left slightly loose. Spring lock On the shower valve bracket, there is a spring lock for quick mounting and for removal from the track. The lock does not prevent the product from moving horizontally. Vertical track Mounting on the vertical track. The product is placed over the top of the track. The product is pivoted to sit completely on the track. The product is tightened in place. Attachment and adjustment on the vertical track. Locking device Used for height adjustment of support arms on vertical track. Lever control Used for height adjustment of wash basin brackets with electric motor or gas cylinder. Lever lock Used for height adjustment of shower chairs, manual wash basin brackets and folding seats on vertical track with grooves.
