We respectfully request that upon approval of being declared surplus, the gear be donated to the South Trail Fire Rescue Explorer Post 5531 in Fort Myers. The gear can still be used for training by these future firefighters. The recipient will pick up the gear if it is declared surplus so there will be no shipping charges involved in this donation. There is a list of fire hose that has failed annual testing and can no longer be utilized by the Fire Department for fire attack or supply. The request is to have these sections of hose declared surplus so the storage area can be purged to make room for a donation of newer hose received from Lake County Fire Rescue a few months ago. Public works could use a few hose sections around the city and the hose would be suitable for their needs. The following lengths of hose will be transferred to the Public Works Department: Sections 2-049, 2-019, 2-016, 2-047, and 5-001. It is requested that the remaining hose declared surplus be donated to the Meeks Fire Department in Meeks, Georgia.
