INTRODUCING InterCyl Introducing the latest product in the RM Cylinders portfolio - the RM InterCyl internal expansion cylinder. Promising to be the premier choice for performance and energy efficiency, the internal baffle traps air internally within the cylinder to act as the expansion vessel for the system. This not only improves ErP credentials but also eliminates the need for an external expansion vessel, saving time & space. The introduction of these state of the art InterCyl units only enhances our ever increasing portfolio of products and ensures that RM Cylinders retain their growing reputation as the market leader in hotwater storage solutions. The continuing development of products enables RM Cylinders to stay relevent and makes sure that merchants and installers have a greater choice of products from one brand. The InterCyl units bring together all the highest specifications RM Cylinders offer and put them all into one unit from the 100% stainless steel thermostat pockets right through to the extremely efficient coil in coil heat exchanger. B RATED FOR HEAT LOSS... BUILT FOR SUCCESS... The InterCyl has been engineered and designed to benefit all sectors of the market, not only will the internal expansion save space & time for the oneoff installer, but its quality and excellent unit specifications will appeal to the larger contractor and any prudent housebuilder. Of course space is always an issue when trying to optimise any installation and when developing the InterCyl cylinder we were concious about trying to save as much space as possible by irradicating the need for the expansion vessel - the largest component outside the cylinder. The InterCyl has not only been developed as a standard 545mm diameter unit but has also as a 475mm slimline model to futher reduce the space required for the installation of an Unvented cylinder. INTRODUCING INTERCYL CYLINDERS The internal airgap/expansion chamber allows the unit to be installed without the use of an external expansion vessel. The airgap assists in improving the already excellent heat loss figures. These units also benefit from our superior coil in coil technology giving Indirect units fast hot water recovery. Also available in slimline models offering even greater space saving potential. The baffle is manufactured from a composite material fully compliant with BS6920 and as such is deemed by WRAS as suitable for this application. In addition to our own in house test regime, and as part of the approvals process, the overall cylinder has been independently tested, to WRAS Test Code 121117: 1999 which evaluates the design of the water to air ratio and the effectiveness of the water to air interface disc through a simulated twelve month lifecycle. CYLINDER WARMING UP CYLINDER COOLING DOWN INTERNAL EXPANSION InterCyl The InterCyl s internal airgap is managed by a specially designed & crafted floating baffle. When the unit is commisioned and filled with water, the baffle traps a separate air pocket in the dome of the unit which acts as the working expansion. As the cylinder heats, expands and cools the baffle rises and falls in line with these changes allowing the pressure to be absorbed. The baffle moves up and down internally on a dip tube that also acts as the hot draw off pipe allowing excellent delivery of water to all taps and showers. 04 DISCOVER: WWW.RMCYLINDERS.COM 10
