1. Introduction

Supplementary Environmental Statement 3 SES3a 7 1 Introduction This document is the mapping volume SES3a (S3a) of the third Crossrail Supplementary Environmental Statement (SES3). Where mapping is provided, it displays the original scheme, revised scheme and impacts mapping. This volume should be read in conjunction with the corresponding SES text volume (SES3) and the mapping volume (Volume 4) of the ES submitted to Parliament in February 2005 (hereafter referred to as the main ES ).

2. Definitions and Sources

Supplementary Environmental Statement 3 SES3a 11 2 Definitions and Sources 2.1 Revised Scheme and Impacts Definitions and sources for the legend features in these plans are identified in Volume 4 of the main ES in section 2.2 Project Works & Impacts, with the exception of the following: Legend Feature Definition Source Original worksite Land required for use by Crossrail to construct the scheme. Crossrail Revised Worksite /Additional Worksite Area Limits of Deviation Amendments to the original worksite (as assessed in the main ES, AP ES and AP2 ES) as required solely by the Amendment of Provisions. Defines the maximum extent of land that may be required for any Scheduled Parliamentary Work, ie any work that is described in the Parliamentary Bill, that usually would be of a linear nature and have a centre line and associated longitudinal section (literally, it defines the limits within which the centre line may deviate). Crossrail Crossrail Limits of Land to be Acquired or Used Eliminated Impacts This defines the maximum extent of land that is required for any supplementary (non-scheduled) work, or any other purpose for which land may be required, as described in the Parliamentary Bill. This could include worksites, contractor compounds, platform extensions, electricity substations, access routes over private land, areas required for minor service diversions and land within the railway corridor on the surface routes that is not part of a Scheduled Work. Significant impacts identified in the main ES, which may arise as the result of Crossrail s construction and operation phases, and are removed as a result of the Amendment of Provisions. Crossrail Crossrail 2.2 Transport Definitions and sources for the legend features in these plans are identified in Volume 4 and Volume 8a, Annex 3 of the main ES, with the exception of the following: Legend Feature Definition Source Strategic Road Network (in Greater London) A network of London borough roads designated by the Secretary of State for Transport under Sections 60 to 63 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 in 2005. Transport for London Congestion Charging Zone and Extension The Greater London (Central Zone) Congestion Charging Zone implemented 2003 together with the Western Extension, approved by the Mayor of London on 30 September 2005. The extended zone will become operational on 19 February 2007. Transport for London
