IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS All the safety and operating instructions should be read, adhered to and followed before the unit is operated. WARNINGS PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT.. Check the household voltage to ensure it matches the unit's rated specification before operating. 2. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not use this fan with any solid-state speed-control device.

3. Close supervision is necessary when the unit is used by or near children or pets, or left unattended. 4. Do not allow children to play with any product packaging, such as plastic bags. 5. Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord or plug, after the product malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any way. 6. This product is intended for domestic use only and not for commercial, industrial or outdoor use. 7. Always turn the unit off and unplug before moving its location. 8. To disconnect from the power supply, grip the power adaptor and pull from the power socket. Never pull by the cord. 9. Do not operate the unit in areas where petrol, paint, or other flammable liquids are used or stored. 0. Do not use the unit in artificially hot or humid conditions or allow it to be used in any hazardous environment.. Do not place the unit near an open flame, cooking or heating appliance, or hot surface. 2. This unit is not intended for use in wet or damp locations. Never locate the unit in an area where it may fall into a sink or other water container. 3. Always use on a dry level surface. 4. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter. Arrange the power cord away from an area where it may be tripped over. 5. Do not run the power cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over. 6. Do not place objects on the product or allow objects to obstruct the inlet or outlet openings. 7. Do not operate in close proximity to walls or curtains, etc. 8. Do not attempt to repair the unit. To repair the unit, take it to a qualified service engineer. 9. Do not operate any fan with a damaged cord or plug. Discard fan or return to an authorized service facility for examination and/or repair. 20. Unplug unit when not in use. 2. Switch the product off and remove the plug from the power socket before servicing. 22. Attention: To reduce the risk of electric shock, this product has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. DO NOT CHANGE THE PLUG IN ANY WAY. 23. This product employs overload protection (fuse). A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit situation. If the fuse blows, unplug the product from the outlet. Replace the fuse as per the user servicing instructions on page (follow product marking for proper fuse rating) and check the product. If the replacement fuse blows, a short-circuit may be present. Call Brookstone Customer Service at 800-846-3000. 24. Risk of fire. Do not replace attachment plug as it contains a safety device (fuse) that should not be bypassed. LOCATION OF CONTROLS (REMOTE CONTROL) ASSEMBLY. Power Button 2. Mode Button 3. Oscillation Button 4. Timer Button 5. Fan Speed Button 2 5 4 3 ATTACHING BASE. Place the Base on the bottom of the Tower Fan (see example at right). 2. Align the three screw holes. 3. Insert and securely tighten the three screws (included). IMPORTANT: Do not over tighten screws. REMOTE BATTERY INSTALLATION. Remove the battery compartment cover from the back of the Remote Control. 2. Insert 2 AAA alkaline batteries (not included) into the battery compartment according to the polarity indicators. 3. Close the battery compartment cover. 6 7

OPERATION POWER. Press the POWER button to turn the unit on and off. OSCILLATION. Press the OSCILLATION button to activate the oscillation feature. The fan will move back and forth in a horizontal motion. 2. Press the OSCILLATION button again to deactivate the oscillation feature. TIMER. Press the TIMER button to choose an auto-off time. 2. The timer can be set to run for, 2, 4 or 8 hours and automatically shut off. 3. The LCD light will show the chosen auto-off time. 4. Press the TIMER button again to cancel the auto-off feature. FAN SPEED. Press the FAN SPEED button to change the fan s speed to Low. 2. Press the FAN SPEED button again to change the fan s speed to Medium. BREEZE AND HI/LOW MODE BREEZE: Chosen fan speed will run like a natural breeze. HI / LOW: Chosen fan speed will run at high and low variables in 90 second intervals. Every 30 minutes the fan speed will reduce.. Press the MODE button to activate Breeze mode. 2. Press the MODE button again to activate Hi/Low mode. 3. Press the MODE button again to turn off the mode. CHANGING LCD BRIGHTNESS SETTINGS. Press the POWER/LIGHT button to turn the unit on. 2. Press and hold the POWER/LIGHT button (on the main unit only) for 2 seconds to automatically cycle through three brightness levels (High, Low, and Off). 3. Release the POWER/LIGHT button (on the main unit only) to set the LCD brightness at the desired level. NOTE: If the LCD brightness level is set to Off, pressing any button will activate the LCD on the Low brightness level for 5 seconds. Press the button again for button operation. After 5 seconds has passed, the LCD brightness level returns to Off. 3. Press the FAN SPEED button again to change the fan s speed to High. 8 9

CARE AND MAINTENANCE. Before you clean or replace the fuse, switch the product off and remove the plug from the power socket. 2. Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the product housing. 3. Do not use detergents, abrasive cleaning liquids, or chemical agents (alcohol, acetate, gasoline, etc) to clean the appliance. 4. Store in a dry, dust-free area with the cord wrapped loosely around the unit. 5. If storing for a long period of time, remove the batteries from the remote control. To replace the fuse in the plug:. Switch the product off and remove the plug from the power socket. 2. Access the plug s spare fuse by sliding a small screwdriver (not included) under the edge of the fuse cover on the plug. Carefully remove the fuse attached to the cover by prying the metal ends with the screwdriver. Put the spare fuse aside in a safe place. 2. To access and remove the spent fuse inside the plug, slide the tab on the access panel inside the spare fuse cavity towards the plug prongs. Remove the spent fuse with the screwdriver. Replace with the spare 2.5 Amp 25 Volt fuse, ensuring it is fully seated in the cavity by gently pressing it in place on the metal ends with the screwdriver. 3. Slide the access panel over the fuse closed until it clicks, and replace the spare fuse cover on the plug to lock it in place. Dispose of the spent fuse properly. A purchase receipt is required. All repairs and replacements must be authorized in advance. Service options, parts availability and response times will vary. You are responsible for delivery and the cost of delivery of the product or any parts to the authorized service center for replacement, per our instructions. Limits and Exclusions: Coverage under this Limited Warranty is limited to the United States of America, including the District of Columbia and the U.S. Territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This Limited Warranty applies only to products manufactured for Brookstone that can be identified by the Brookstone trademark, trade name, or logo affixed to them or their packaging. The Limited Warranty does not apply to any non-brookstone products. Manufacturers or suppliers other than Brookstone may provide their own warranties to the purchaser, but Brookstone, in so far as permitted by law, provides these products as is.
