TOASTING OPERATION There are 3 functions (cancel, reheat and defrost) and seven browning degrees. NOTE: When first used, your toaster may smoke slightly. Any smoke or odour is normal and will not reoccur after a few uses. Before using the toaster for the first time we suggest that you operate the toaster at least five times without bread but at the highest setting. Ventilate the room during this period. Ensure your mains supply voltage is the same as that marked on the underside of your toaster. Turn the selector switch clockwise to set the browning control from the lightest stage 1 to the darkest stage 7. If in doubt start with the lowest setting (mark on the selector switch shows you your setting). Insert sliced bread into the toasting slot and push down the lever until it locks (the lever will only lock when the toaster is plugged in). The appliance will now start toasting, when the set degree of toasting has been reached the toast pops up automatically. To use the special functions, press the button of the function you wish to select once you have pushed down the lever: REHEAT or DEFROST.
