FROM THE Owner I agree with Mirabel Osler when she said there can be no occupation like gardening in which if you were to creep up behind someone at their work you would find them smiling. In my gardening job I also often find myself smiling as I go about my tasks during the early spring and summer months at the greenhouse. In the morning, in March, while most of Manitoba is still dealing with parkas, snow shovels and icy northern winds we walk into a warm, and most days sunny, greenhouse that smells of damp soil and the fantastically fresh aroma that growing plants give off. At Oakridge we grow about 95% of all our annuals and perennials which gives us the flexibility to carry a wide and diverse selection of plants. It also means we can control the quality of our plants, since quality is really only about attention to all the details. Our aim is to fill our greenhouses with healthy, vigorous and beautiful plants. We are a full service garden centre so our tree/shrub yard is well stocked with prairie-hardy plants as well as varieties that need winter protection. Striving, also, to be a destination spot we opened a café, gift store and in the last year have added a fashion boutique. With everything we do we never want to lose sight of our primary goal, which is excellent customer service. You, our customers, have given us great support over the years and we feel many of you have become our friends, and for that we are very grateful. Our children, Megan and Pierre, have joined us as partners at Oakridge and so the story continues. Thank you, T erry & Erna * #59 WINNIPEG #1 #12 Oakridge Garden Centre 32085 HWY 52 West, Steinbach, MB 204-326-1015 www.oakridgegardencentre.com #52 * STEINBACH SPRING 2015 5

The SHOPPING EXPERIENCE ANNUALS Foliage & Flowering There is such an amazing variety of wonderful bedding and container plants we grow that our greenhouses are chock full each spring. FOUNTAINS, STATUARY & TOOLS PLUS all the rest of your gardening needs and wishes. Vegetables & HERBS Cafe Join us for a lite breakfast, lunch or one of our fantastic desserts or specialty coffees. You might even be able to find a seat on our patio or verandah and who can resist eating outside on a beautiful spring day. Growing their own fragrant and flavorful herbs as well as fresh garden vegetables is a very satisfying and delicious experience for many of our customers. 6 OAKRIDGE GARDEN CENTRE - 204-326-1015 - OAKRIDGEGARDENCENTRE.COM

4 FAVORITE PERENNIALS 2015 Dolce Brazen Raisin Heuchera (Coral Bells) We fell in love with this new varieties deep purple foliage and hot pink blooms. This versatile compact plant grows in full sun to full shade. Coral Charm Peony This is a collector peony. Its stunning large semi-double bright coral flowers with yellow stamens adorn its beautiful green foliage. Save this one for a place where you want to make a statement. Sun King Aralia (Japaese Spikenard) I (Reena) and Erna both love this plant! This tropical looking shrub like perennial is a great way to add some contrast to your landscape with its bright lime green foliage. We tried it in full sun, which is best, as well as part to full-shade. Bonus, deer will not touch it. Cherry Pops Monarda (Bee Balm) Sturdy stems with bright cherry red flowers will add a pop of color to your garden. Has great disease resistance. Attracts butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. 28 OAKRIDGE GARDEN CENTRE - 204-326-1015 - OAKRIDGEGARDENCENTRE.COM
