Baddesley Clinton Access Statement Baddesley Clinton Rising Lane Knowle B93 0DQ T: 01564 783294 E: baddesleyclinton@nationaltrust.org.uk Introduction Discover a secluded, intimate estate set in the heart of the Forest of Arden with 500 years of fascinating and unexpected stories. Baddesley Clinton was the home of the Ferrers family for 500 years. Much of the house you see today was built by Henry Ferrers, a lawyer, diarist and antiquarian, in the late 1500s. The house was a sanctuary not only for the Ferrers family, but also for persecuted Catholics who were hidden from priest hunters in its secret hiding places during the 1590s. Points to note The mobile phone reception across the site is poor. Best location for mobile reception is in the carpark. Baddesley Clinton is a moated property. Assistance dogs are allowed on site. Dogs are not allowed on site. This includes visitor reception, shop, restaurant and bookshop. They are allowed in the carparks. Dog bowl provided outside visitor reception. Light levels in the mansion are low to maintain and protect the collection. There are 4 manual wheelchairs available from visitor reception. There are no power assisted doors on the estate. The gardens have a lake, stream, two ponds and other water ditches. Induction loops are fitted in visitor reception, shop and restaurant. Arrival & Parking Facilities The site is easy to find, close to the M40 & M42 Motorways. Browns signs displayed 9 miles from the property. Packwood House is 2 miles away from us who also have brown signs. There are 14 designated disabled visitors bays. The disabled parking is 100 yards from visitor reception. The main carpark surface is gravel. Our overflow parking is grass. The disabled visitor parking is in the main carpark. Page 1 of 5
