OPERATION Cabinet Layout POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - OPERATION Features The Popcorn Warmer Cabinet has fixed glass panels on the front and sides, with a sliding glass access panel on the top. The stainless steel base plates are slotted to allow to warm air circulation, and can be removed for cleaning. The front louver panel folds down when cleaning. The cabinet controls are on the back of the cabinet. The control gear, heating elements and air circulation fans are all behind the cabinet back panel. Lighting The inside of the cabinet is illuminated by an LED lighting strip mounted along the top of the front panel. The lighting strip is masked from direct view by the top frame of the front panel. Controls POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - OPERATION Switches The control panel is located at the back of the cabinet. The rocker switch controls the power supply to the heating and lights. The thermometer indicates the temperature of the circulating air. Heating Controller The circulating air temperature is factory set. The internally mounted thermostat is not accessible to the operator. IL-H-HPC-A001-7 - Future Products Group

Preparation POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - OPERATION Power Supply Ensure that power is connected to the cabinet. Fumes and Odours Before first use, operate the cabinet for 2 hours with the top hatch open, to remove any fumes or odours which may be present. This will avoid possible tainting of food. Load Cabinet With the base plates in position, fill the cabinet no more than ¾ full of popcorn. This will ensure adequate warm air circulation. The cabinet is designed to maintain the temperature of the popcorn at about 40 C. After filling with cold product, it is normal for the temperature to drop, before stabilizing again to the pre-set level. WARNING: Aluminium Foil Do NOT place aluminium foil on the base trays. This will disrupt the circulation of air, and cause uneven heating. Close Hatch It is important to keep the serving hatch closed, when not serving. If the hatch is not fully closed, an even temperature will not be maintained within the cabinet. If the hatch is left open for an extended period the temperature will fall. Once it is closed the temperature will take some time to rise to the normal operating level. Part No. 23512 Rev. E July 2016-8 - Popcorn Warmer Cabinets

CLEANING Cautions POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - CLEANING Power ALWAYS TURN THE POWER SUPPLY OFF BEFORE CLEANING. Water THIS UNIT IS NOT WATERPROOF. DO NOT USE A WATER JET SPRAY TO CLEAN THE INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR OF THIS CABINET. Exterior POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - CLEANING Metal Surfaces Stainless steel or aluminium surfaces should be cleaned with hot soapy water or a good quality metal cleaning compound. DO NOT clean surfaces with abrasive pads or cleaners (e.g. Scotchbrite pads or Jif), as paint, stainless steel and aluminium surfaces will be damaged. Glass All glass should be cleaned using a good quality glass cleaner and a clean cloth. DO NOT use abrasive pads or cleaners, because they will damage the surface of the glass. Sliding Hatch The sliding hatch is located on plastic guides at each side. The hatch can be removed for cleaning by sliding it to the closed position and then lifting it off the tracks. The tracks should be vacuumed out regularly to keep the hatch sliding freely. Food grade lubricant may be applied to the tracks, if the hatch becomes stiff to operate. Continued on next page Part No. 23512 Rev. E July 2016-10 - Popcorn Warmer Cabinets

Interior POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - CLEANING Cabinet Base The front louver panel is secured with a magnetic catch, and can be hinged down to access the base of the cabinet. Debris Drawer The debris drawer is mounted on runners, and can be pulled out for cleaning. Place a container under the drawer, and remove the plate to sweep debris from the drawer. Drawer Removal If required, the drawer can be removed completely. Lift the plastic catches on either side of the runners, and pull the drawer out. Base Trays Stainless steel trays can be removed and cleaned with hot soapy water, or in a dishwasher. Do not use abrasive pads or cleaners (e.g. Scotchbrite pads or Jif), as these may damage surfaces. IL-H-HPC-A001-11 - Future Products Group

Cleaning Routines POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - CLEANING Schedules To maintain optimum performance, cleaning schedules must be regular and thorough. It is important that the slots in the base trays are not allowed to become blocked, as that would reduce the warm air circulation. Inspection As part of the cleaning routine, the controls, mechanical parts and electrical wiring should be inspected for damage, deterioration or need of adjustment. Correction If any small faults are found, have them attended to promptly by a competent serviceman. Don t wait until they cause a complete breakdown. Part No. 23512 Rev. E July 2016-12 - Popcorn Warmer Cabinets

Regulations POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - INSTALLATION INSTALLATION Compliance with Local Requirements It is very important that your cabinet is installed correctly and that the operation is correct before use. Installation must comply with local electrical, health & safety and hygiene requirements. Setting Up POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - INSTALLATION Unpacking Unpack and check unit for damage and report any damage to the carrier and supplier. Report any deficiencies to your supplier. The cabinet is supplied fully assembled. Site Preparation Check that any associated joinery conforms with the cabinet dimensions. Position the cabinet in its allocated working position. Use a spirit level to ensure the cabinet is level from side to side and front to back. Cabinet Preparation Remove all tapes, ties and packers, used to prevent movement during transit. Open the louver door to check the cabinet base and drawer. Check that all plastic film protection has been removed from surfaces. Grounding WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE GROUNDED TO EARTH The grounding lead, in the mains cable, must always be connected to ground. Power Supply Before connecting to the power supply, check that the local supply is correct to that shown on the rating plate, located on the rear of the cabinet. Isolation If the cabinet is not connected by a plug and socket, but is hard wired to the mains supply, a means of isolation must be provided. If a plug and socket are used, they should still be accessible after the cabinet is installed. IL-H-HPC-A001-13 - Future Products Group

SERVICING Control Gear POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - SERVICING Location The electrical control gear is located in the back of the cabinet. Remove the bottom plate to access the switch, thermometer, LED power supply, thermostat and the MCB. The wire-wound heating elements and air circulation fans are located behind the back panel. A thermal fuse, mounted above the heating element, protects against overheating in the event of a circuit malfunction. Temperature Probes and MCB The temperature probes, for the thermostat and thermometer are mounted on the control gear chassis. The MCB can also be reached via the cabinet base, after removing the drawer. Lighting POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - SERVICING Caution Do not service lights without isolating the cabinet from the mains supply. LED Lights The LED lighting strip is mounted behind the frame, at the top of the front panel. LEDs have a very long life, but if they fail, the complete strip should be replaced. Part No. 23512 Rev. E July 2016-14 - Popcorn Warmer Cabinets

Heating POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - SERVICING Caution DO NOT attempt to replace heating elements without isolating the cabinet at the supply switch or by unplugging it from the mains supply. Element Replacement The wire-wound elements have a very long life, since they run at a relatively low temperature. Should an element fail, it must be replaced by using a length of the specified spare resistance wire. The wire has a resistance of 150 Ohms/metre and a 3.5m length is required to provide a 100W element. Test Turn the power on and check that all four elements are now getting hot. Re-assemble If the cabinet is now operating normally, re-assemble the back panel etc. Mains Lead POPCORN WARMER CABINETS - SERVICING Lead Replacement If damaged, the mains lead must ONLY be replaced by a qualified service person.
