The Pacific Coast Collaborative (PCC) West Coast Leaders Agreement in 2008 Governors (CA, OR, WA) & Premier (B.C.) Focus: West Coast climate & energy challenges OAH subcommittee in 2013: 1. 1. Design and implement coordinated, effective West Coast OA research and monitoring 2. 2. Initiate the development of an international network of countries, states, provinces and cities to work to together to address the threat of changing ocean conditions, particularly OA www.pacificcoastcollaborative.org

West Coast OAH Monitoring Network Design WCOAH Science Panel recommendation to build a monitoring network that: 1. Supports the needs of decision-makers 2. Measures an array of physical, chemical, and biological variables 3. Builds on ongoing efforts Observing assets Procedure guidance Data access 4. Develops and sustains intellectual capacity
WC-OAH Science Panel 1. Define info needs 2. Align what you have with what you need 3. Prioritize what you still need 4. Enhance consistency of WC effort 5. Commit to the long-term 6. Communicate info widely

TF Strategy: What we have Stage 1 next steps: QA/QC and aggregate information (in progress; complete Fall 2017) Roll-up to regional product(s) Soon Select host site for products Publically-accessible, stable (archival) site IPAC-OA? Mirror the host at other sites, as desired West Coast Ocean Data Portal IOOS Regional Associations Etc. Host site would include Inventory database Maps, story
TF Strategy: What we need Stage 2 task: Identify management OAH information needs and gaps (relative to inventory). Participants to include: Policymakers, managers Scientists IWG-OA agencies IOOS Regional stakeholders Stage 2 progress: Targeting Winter 2017-2018
