Sand in sand urns will be strained to remove ashes and debris. All waste receptacles, other trash containers and recycling containers will be emptied and returned to their original location. Boxes, paper, etc. placed near a trash receptacle or in a hallway and marked Trash shall be removed. All boxes shall be broken down prior to placement in the dumpster/recycling container. All waste shall be emptied into a trash dumpster in such a manner as to prevent the adjacent area from becoming littered. In no case shall trash be placed adjacent to a dumpster. Al recycling shall be placed in the recycling dumpster. All waste and recycling receptacles shall be wiped clean inside and outside to remove evident soil or wet spills. In restrooms, germicidal solution shall be used. After dusting, all such surfaces will have a uniform appearance, free from streaks, smudges, dust, lint, litter, cobwebs, etc. Remove spots, dust, lint, dry soil, and cobwebs from baseboards, radiator registers, moldings, ledges door and window casing, plastic blinds, window sills, benches, chalk trays, handrails, walls, HVAC vents, open metal casings, and room dividers. In restrooms, a cloth or sponge dampened with germicidal detergent will be used for dusting. Without disturbing papers and other working materials, dust or wipe clean all desk accessories including trays, tape dispensers, calculators, etc. Do not clean or dust personal computers, word processing equipment, or mainframe computer workstations. Wall ornaments will be dusted and wiped to remove all dust, dirt, fingerprints, etc., with care taken not to dislodge ornaments from hanging devices.

Complete removal of cobwebs, dust, etc. from all duct fixtures, pipes, sprinkler systems, ceilings, plastic blinds and HVAC vents. After cleaning, all surfaces will be free from all types of soil and cobwebs removable by dusting or damp wiping. Pick up all debris/trash in vicinity of entrances. Porches, ramps, steps and any other area under cover outside the building will be swept to remove all soil, litter, trash, cigarette butts, etc. Cigarette urns, butt stops, and waste receptacles near the entranceway will be emptied and wiped clean. After cleaning the entrance areas, all visible surface litter, soil, etc. will have been removed. Prior to vacuuming, all surface litter such as paper, gum, rubber bands, paper clips, staples, etc. will be picked up. Furniture and trash receptacles will be moved as necessary to vacuum underneath. After vacuuming the entire floor including corners and next to baseboards will be free of all visible litter, soil, dust, and embedded grit. While Vacuuming, do not stack chairs, wastepaper, cans, etc. on desks, tables, window ledges, etc. Vacuums used must conform be commercial grade upright with air quality micro filter and be properly maintained to assure they are always in working order. Prior to vacuuming, all surface litter such as paper, gum, rubber bands, paper clips, staples, etc. will be picked up. Vacuum all traffic areas in offices, hallways, work areas, and meeting/conference rooms. After vacuuming, all traffic area will be free of all visible litter, soil, dust, and embedded grit. The entire floor will be free of visible litter. Stairs, landings, and steps shall be Vacuumed or dust-mopped and spot cleaned. Wooden banisters including the base shall be dusted and metal handrails, including the base, shall be wiped clean. After cleaning, the surfaces will be free of dust, lint, soil, and cobwebs. All storage areas shall be free of litter, trash, etc., and shall be swept and damp mopped monthly. All bottles should be labeled with chemical contents. All used mops will be hung up to dry properly. Dirty water should be disposed of after each use. 13 Vacuum Cloth Furniture Vacuum cloth furniture using proper attachments and remove all hair, dust, litter, lint, and loose soil. 14 Remove Graffiti Remove graffiti using approved, surface appropriate cleaning solution. 15 Realign Furniture Observe positioning of small furniture prior to cleaning and realign furniture after cleaning the room. Building occupants are responsible for realignment of furniture if moved during room use. 16 Damp-Wipe Tops and Other Surfaces Remove all surface litter such as paper clips. Using a treated duster, remove all lose dust and soil from tops of lockers, light fixtures, cabinets, etc. Dust other flat surfaces with a cloth or sponge dampened in germicidal detergent solution. After dusting, the surface will have uniform appearance, free of streaks, smudges, dust, lint, litter, etc.

After cleaning to remove spots, the carpet should be free from visible spots and stains. This shall include the Bookmobile. Remove all pencil and pen marks and any other non-permanent stains from the writing surfaces using a sponge or cloth dampened in a mild detergent solution. The cleaning will not be of such a degree as to remove the finish or leave abrasive marks. After spot cleaning, the surface will have a uniform appearance free of streaks, smudges, dust, lint, litter, etc. After cleaning, surface will have a uniform appearance free of dust, dirt, smudges, fingerprints, etc. A nongreasy lemon polish may be used on wood at customers request. Wipe with a sponge or cloth using a non-abrasive germicidal solution, then dry with a dry cloth. After cleaning, the banisters, railings, and base will be dry with a uniform appearance free of spots, stains, soil, etc. Remove smudges, fingerprints ball-point pen marks, mildew, streaks, dirt, etc. from washable surface including stainless steel, around light switches, doors, door handles and casings, kick and push plates, baseboards, etc. Germicidal detergents will be used for spot cleaning in restrooms. After cleaning, the surface will present a uniform appearance free of all smudges, fingerprints, stains, streaks, etc. Clean partition walls, doors and walls surrounding or adjacent to urinals and commodes. Remove any nonpermanent stains, spots, streaks and graffiti using a cloth, scrub pad, or sponge with a germicidal detergent solution. Wipe the surface dry using a clean cloth. After cleaning, the surface will have a uniform appearance free of dust, lint, streaks, stains and writing. Clean all door handles inside and out. Vacuuming will clean Entrance mats located in either the exterior or interior of entrances. If Vacuuming does not remove all soil, the mats shall be taken outside and swept with a stiff broom until all soil has been removed. Entrance mats will be lifted to remove soil and moisture underneath and will be returned to their normal position. No entrance mat will be placed upon a damp or wet floor surface. Glass doors, sidelights, partitions, and windows shall be spot cleaned on both sides. After cleaning, the surface will present a uniform appearance free of all smudges, fingerprints, stains, streaks, lint, etc. Areas adjacent to entrance glass, which are soiled by cleaning of the glass, will be completely cleaned and restored.

25 Clean Drinking Fountains 26 Clean and Disinfect Countertops and Sinks 27 Clean Counters 28 Clean Mirrors 29 Clean and Disinfect Toilets and Urinals 30 Clean and Refill Floor Drains 31 Wet Mop Entrances Remove all obvious soil, streaks, smudges, etc. from drinking fountains and the immediate surrounding area. Disinfect all porcelain and polished metal surfaces including the orifice and drain. Stainless steel sections will be polished with an appropriate cleaner. After cleaning, the entire drinking fountains will be free from streaks, smudges, spots, stains, scale and other obvious removable soil. Completely clean and disinfect all exposed surfaces of the sink. A non-abrasive cleaner will be used on the exposed hardware, which will also be dried and polished. After cleaning, the fixture will present a clean, bright, shiny appearance and will be free of all visible soil, streaks, oily smudges, residue, cleaning agent, etc. Inoperable or broken fixtures will be reported to the Contract Administrator the following workday morning. Use different cloths, sponges, brushes and scouring pads when cleaning sinks than when cleaning commodes and urinals. Do not move/remove dishes and personal items to clean sinks and countertops. Remove any non-permanent stains, spots, and spills from all counters using a sponge or cloth dampened in a mild detergent solution. In restrooms, use a germicidal detergent solution. After washing, the counter and sink will have a uniform appearance free from streaks, smudges, lint, etc. with complete removal of soil from the surface. Clean glass with a suitable glass cleaner. Clean frames and any adjacent shelves with a damp cloth or sponge and polish dry with a paper towel. After cleaning, all surfaces will have no visible signs of streaks, smudges, lint, film, etc. and will present a uniform appearance. Completely clean and disinfect all exposed surfaces of toilets and urinals. A non-abrasive cleaner will be used on exposed hardware, which will be dried and polished. All foreign material will be removed from the urinal drain trap. Install urinal deodorizing blocks with pliable screens when required. After cleaning the toilet seat, it must be completely dried and placed in an upright position. All fixtures will be free of streaks, spots, stains, rings, etc. Obstructed toilets and urinals will be reported to the Contract Administrator by 10:00 AM the following workday morning. Screen will be cleaned and clean water and enzymes will be poured down drains to alleviate dry drain, bacteria and odor. Report any obstructed drains to the Contract Administrator by 10:00 AM the following work day. Remove and clean any entrance mats. Sweep or dust mop the entire floor surface to remove all loose soils and dusts. Wet-mop entire floor area with a mild detergent solution to remove all soil and nonpermanent stains. After mopping, the floor will have a uniform appearance with no streaks, film, swirl marks, detergent residue, mop strings or any evidence of soil. Any splash marks on baseboards will be removed immediately. Replace any entrance mats when the floor is completely dry.

32 Auto-scrub/wet mop floors 33 Mop and Disinfect Floor 34 Wash and Disinfect Interior Walls 35 Elevator Fully Clean 36 Scrub Restroom, Locker and Shower Floors With a Buffer Floors in corridors and other open areas will be cleaned using appropriate machine. Areas that cannot be reached by machine, (such as offices, work rooms, restrooms) will be mopped. Sweep, using a dust mop, to remove all loose soil and dust. Mop entire floor area moving chairs and trash receptacles to mop underneath and replacing them when the floor is dry. After mopping, the floors will have a uniform appearance with no streaks, film, swirl marks, detergent residues, mop strings, or other evidence of soil. Any splash marks on baseboards will be removed immediately. Prior to mopping, the floor surface will be swept with a broom to remove all loose dirt and soil. Mop the floor with a germicidal detergent solution and rinse with clear water. After mopping, the floor will have a uniform appearance free of spots, spills, stains, dirt, oily film, mop strings, etc. Dispose of the remaining germicidal detergent solution by pouring down the floor drain. Shower areas will be cleaned with a germicidal solution. Clean shower drains at this time. After cleaning, the walls will have a uniform appearance free of soil, and soap film. All surfaces in cab and doors on all levels will be wiped clean, swept and mopped, or vacuumed. Door tracks and lens covers will also be cleaned. All surface litter such as paper, tape, towels, etc. will be removed before scrubbing. Apply the appropriate cleaning solution and allow it to stand for five (5) minutes before scrubbing the surface with a floor buffer equipped with a grit brush. This will remove heavy stains, mildew, and mineral deposits from the surface including the grouting. After scrubbing, the surface will be rinsed thoroughly to remove all remaining detergent solution. After cleaning, the floor and grout will have a uniform appearance free from film, mineral deposit, stains, etc. Areas not accessible to the buffer will be manually scrubbed with an abrasive hand pad. 37 De-scale Toilets and Urinals Toilets and urinals will be de-scaled using approved cleaning solution. 38 Stripping and Refinishing Floors Completely remove, without damage to the floor surface, all finish and or sealer from all visible floor surfaces, and from those floor surfaces which can be exposed. Remove all marks, scuff, stains, etc. except in cases in which there is damage to the floor surfaces. Where stripping chemicals are used, the area will be rinsed to completely remove any traces of the solution. Stripping solution will be wiped off immediately from baseboards and all other fixed/non-fixed items in the area. Care will be taken to avoid flooding the floor in order to prevent damage to the tile and its bond to the sub-floor. After a floor has been stripped, two coats of sealer will be applied and then two coats of an approved finish will be applied. The coats will be thin and evenly applied. After the finish has dried, the reflectance will be uniform with no streaks, swirls, etc. visible. No finish will be on the baseboard or other non-floor surfaces. Each coat of sealer or wax will be buffed thoroughly before the next coat is applied. All materials (sealer, finish, etc.) shall be removed from doors and all other non-floor surfaces.

39 Hard Surface Floor Finish Products used to refinish hard surface floors shall be odorless, leave a glossy appearance and be slip retardant. 40 Buffing Hard Surface Flooring Products used shall be able to maintain the glossy appearance and slip retardant qualities of the floor finish. 41 Contract Administrator Notification Call 757-269-2730 and leave message with Building Services staff, on-call supervisor, or voice mail. 42 Clean and Sanitize Dispensers All dispensers shall be cleaned with a biocidal cleaning agent. 43 Restocking Dispensers All restocking items (soap and paper products) shall be equal to the products as indicated in the contract specifications. 44 Metal Polishing All bright metal parts shall be polished with a product that is non-greasy, non-abrasive and odorless. 45 Lock Doors/Windows and Set Alarms In accordance with established facility-specific protocol or procedure, ensure all doors are locked, alarms properly set and all windows are closed upon completion of work. All costs associated with emergency response to alarms triggered by arriving/departing custodial staff will be deducted from contractor invoice. 46 Carpet Extraction Carpet will be vacuumed, pre-sprayed, and cleaned with extraction machine using clear water. Portable furniture will be moved by custodian. Customer will be asked to pick up personal belongings prior to carpet extraction. 47 Replenish restroom supplies Replenish/refill all soap, paper towel, toilet paper and sanitary disposal bag dispensers where installed.
