After touring Kew Gardens, you will then transfer to The Carlton Mitre Hotel across from Hampton Court Palace. Dinner is included tonight. Monday, May 23, 2016 Today you will visit Wisley Garden, an amazing showcase garden for the Royal Horticulture Society, including a guided tour and plenty of time to explore on your own.
Tuesday, May 24, 2016 One of the highlights of this trip will be the RHS Chelsea Flower Show which is acclaimed to be the most famous flower show in the world. A one year membership to the Royal Horticultural Society is included and allows entry on members only day. In the afternoon you will have the option of touring Hampton Court Palace, or staying on in central London and returning to the hotel on your own. Some of you may prefer to depart Chelsea Flower Show mid-morning as the crowds start to arrive, and you can easily secure taxi transportation or underground back to the hotel or for more exploring. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 After checking out of the hotel, you will travel to the first garden of the day, Iford Manor Estate. Iford Manor is mediaeval in origin and the Italianate garden at the Manor is famous for its tranquil beauty and was designed by the architect and landscape gardener Harold Ainsworth Peto who lived here from 1899 to 1933. Included is a private tour. After lunch, you will have a guided tour at the famous garden Stourhead, owned by The National Trust. After, you continue to Cirencester and check into the Four Pillars Cotswold Waterpark Hotel. Dinner is included this evening. Thursday, May 26, 2016 Two exceptional private gardens are scheduled for today. The Laskett Gardens are the largest private formal gardens to be created in England since 1945. Over almost four decades the historian, Sir Roy Strong, and his late wife, the designer Dr Julia Trevelyan Oman, transformed a four acre field into a series of stunning garden rooms, vistas, ascents and descents. In the afternoon you will travel to Througham Court, Christine Facer Hoffman s own garden hidden away in a beautiful, remote and unspoilt Cotswold Hills valley. It is used as a personal laboratory to experiment with new ideas, materials and planting combinations. Friday, May 27, 2016 This morning the plan is to visit Highgrove House, the family residence of Charles, Prince of Wales and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. The confirmation of this visit is dependent upon the Prince of Wale s schedule, to be advised. A suitable replacement visit will be provided if unavailable. In the afternoon is another private garden, Rodmarton Manor, an 8 acre Cotswold garden in glorious Gloucestershire. Saturday May 28, 2016 Today you start the day visiting a lovely Cotswold garden, Upton Wold, a hidden private garden. Following this you will spend some leisurely time in the Cotswolds village of Broadway. After, you then continue to Sudeley Castle and Gardens. The castle contains many fascinating treasures from ancient Roman times to the present day. Outside, the castle is surrounded by award-winning gardens and a breathtaking 1,200 acre estate.
Sunday, May 29, 2016 Today s agenda includes two world renowned gardens, starting with Kiftsgate Court Gardens created by three generations of women gardeners: Heather Muir, Diany Binny and Anne Chambers. The second garden today will be Hidcote Manor. There will be an introductory talk prior to our tour, followed by a Buffet Supper in the restaurant. Monday, May 30, 2016 This morning, after checking out of the hotel, the first visit is at Powis Castle. The world-famous garden is laid out under the influence of Italian and French style. High on a rock above the terraces, the castle, originally built circa 1200, began life as a medieval fortress. Remodelled and embellished over more than 400 years, it reflects the changing needs and ambitions of the Herbert family - each generation adding to the magnificent collection of paintings, sculpture, furniture and tapestries. In the afternoon you will enjoy a private visit to Glansevern Hall which is romantically positioned on the banks of the River Severn in Mid Wales. You then travel to Bodysgallen Hall and Spa, your hotel for the final two nights. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 As the tour winds down, you will visit one garden today, Bodnant Garden, which houses plants from all over the world grown from seed and cuttings collected over a century ago on plant-hunting expeditions. Created by five generations of one family, this 32-hectare (80-acre) garden is superbly located, with spectacular views across Snowdonia. The afternoon will be free to enjoy the gardens and spa facilities at Bodysgallen Hall before the farewell dinner. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 Check out of hotel and transfer to Manchester Airport for departure.
