When cleaning or putting the heater away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) Double Insulation Safety This appliance is double insulated for your protection. Do not attempt to repair a double insulated appliance Use and Environment Never leave the heater unattended while it is in use. Always turn the product to the OFF position and unplug it from the electrical outlet when not in use. Do not use outdoors. Do not use directly below a socket outlet. Do not run cord under carpeting and do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners or the like. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over. Do not place the heater on carpets having a very deep pile. Avoid the use of an extension cord as this may overheat and cause a risk of fire. Use the heater in a well-ventilated area. Do not insert or allow objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust openings in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked. Use the heater on flat, dry surfaces only. Do not place this heater near flammable materials, surfaces or substances, as there may be a risk of fire. Keep the above flammable materials, surfaces or substances at least 1m from the front of the product and keep them away from the sides and rear. A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint or other volatile or flammable liquids are used or stored. Do not use this heater with a programmer, timer, separate remote-control system or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly. This appliance is designed exclusively for private, domestic use and is not suitable for commercial or industrial use. Only use the appliance on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface. The socket-outlet must be accessible at all times to enable the mains plug to be disconnected as quickly as possible! Do not use this appliance for any purpose other than those stated in this manual. WARNING: Fire risk exists if the heater is covered by or positioned close to curtains or other materials. Do not place the heater near a bed, because objects such as pillows or blankets can fall off the bed and be ignited by the heater. Water Do not immerse the appliance or its supply cord in water. Do not use with wet hands or use in damp situations. Don t use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool. Never locate the heater where it may fall into bathtub or other water container. Burns Risk Do not touch hot surfaces. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns and personal injury, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Unplug and let heater cool down for at least ten (10) minutes before moving it. Use handles when moving the product. Attention! The front grille becomes very hot when the appliance is in use! Please the appliance so that it cannot be touched by accident! Risk of burns! The appliance will cool down gradually after being switched off. Ventilation Never cover or obstruct any ventilation opening. Do not place any object on this heater. Do not use on a soft surface (such as a bed) where openings may be blocked or heater can fall over The appliance should be placed with a minimum distance of 120 cm from flammable objects, walls or structures! The appliance openings must not be obstructed in any way! WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater. Before First Use 1. Remove all packaging materials. 2. Remove any stickers or labels from the appliance. (Except the rating label! And Do NOT COVER warning) 3. Wipe the outside of the appliance with a moist cloth and dry with a towel. INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: It is normal when the heaters are turned on for the first time or when they are turned on after having not been used for a long period of time the heaters may emit some smells and fumes. This will disappear when the heater has been operating for a short while. Location This heater is intended for use only on the floor. The appliance should be placed with a minimum distance of 120 cm from flammable objects, walls or structures! The appliance openings must not be obstructed in any way! Keep all combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, paper, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet away from heater. Do not place anything on top of Heater. Do not use in wet or moist locations; for example, bathrooms or laundry areas, or in areas where paint or other flammable or volatile liquids are used or stored. Using Your Heater REMEMBER: Portable electric heaters are designed for space heating or as a supplementary heat source. They are not intended to be a main source of heat. 1. Before using the heater, make sure that it is on a flat and stable surface. Damage may occur if it is placed on an incline or decline. 2. Set all the controls to OFF position and insert the plug into a socket-outlet that is compatible with the rating label on the product. Be sure that plug fits firmly. 3. Press the ON/OFF button to the ON position. 4. Press the 1000W buttons to the desired heat (Buttons B&C both pressed on) this is full heating power 2000W. 5. Press the FAN button down to the on position. The indicator light will illuminate indicating the elements are heating and hot air will start to blow from the front of the heater. NOTE: The FAN button must be on for the heater to operate. 6. When your room reaches the desired temperature, you can reduce the heat output by pressing and releasing the 1000W button C to the off position. reduces the heat output by half. On very cold days this may not be practical to reduce the heat level, larger rooms and open spaces may also find the low heat setting ineffective. 7. To completely shut the heater off, turn all the controls to OFF, and remove plug from the socket-outlet. Overheat Safety Device A thermal overload protector is built in to prevent overheating. When an overheat temperature is reached, the heater will be automatically shut off. It can only resume operation when the user resets the unit. If this should happen: o If the heater does not switch on, the safety device has been activated. Remove the mains plug from the wall socket. o Let the heater cool down for 30 minutes. o Check if the heater had been placed correctly and check if anything is obstructing the air flow. If necessary, clean the grilles with a vacuum cleaner. Replace the plug into the wall socket and switch the heater on again. If the safety device again switches off the heater: o Remove the mains plug from the wall socket. o Have the heater inspected by a Service Centre or by your dealer. CLEANING and MAINTENANCE This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user-serviceable parts. Any servicing requiring disassembly other than cleaning must be performed by a qualified appliance repair technician. Before Cleaning Before unplugging unit ensure all controls are set to off. When not in use or before cleaning, always disconnect the appliance from the mains supply. Always remove the plug from the socket-outlet and allow the radiator to cool down before clean the heater. Care and Cleaning Accumulated dust may be removed from heater surfaces with a soft cloth. For more thorough cleaning, use a cloth that has been moistened with a solution of mild detergent and water. Dry the heater casing thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth before operating the unit again. CAUTION: Never immerse the heater, plug or cord in water or any other liquid. NOTICE: Never use rough scouring pads or abrasive cleansers on any plastic or metal parts as the surface may be damaged. Store in a Safe Place When not in use store your appliance and all its accessories and instruction manual in a safe and dry place. Keep the original box in which the convector was packed to store it during the warmer months In case of malfunction or doubt, do not try to repair the heater yourself; it may result in a fire hazard or electric shock.
