Professional solutions for building automation New products from P1 As a producer of innovative building automation systems, is continually developing more sophisticated products for energy saving. This spring, in the networked products sector, the company is launching both a new DALI programme and new occupancy detectors for the KNX market, as well as other sophisticated innovations. Brand new from is the scalable DALISYS lighting control system, which can cover everything from tting out single rooms to lighting control for a complete building complex. The components are addressable and work on the distributed intelligence principle. The DALISYS portfolio, like a KNX system, includes individual DALI components which can be combined with each other according to the requirements and size of the building. experts plan the con guration according to individual project demands. The new KNX Generation 6 occupancy and motion detectors are offered in three variants with different levels of functionality. Innovative new functions enable much closer matching of the system to the users needs. With one interior and one exterior light sensor, plus another brightness object and the option to connect an external table light sensor via infrared, there are no more boundaries to optimum light measurement with KNX Gen6. The innovative, bidirectional remote control-capable PD2N-LED motion detector combines the functionality of a ceiling occupancy detector with that of an LED orientation light in one case for the rst time. The combination of orientation lighting and automatic lighting control results in signi cantly increased convenience and greater energy saving. The new AL8-25-300 surface-mounted light also combines high energy ef ciency with the latest LED technology and an attractive design. The extremely at diffuser provides rooms with an even light distribution that is easy on the eye. offers the AL8 in two variants: either with three colour temperatures or with integrated HF radar detector. has also completely revised the entire range in the SAFETYLUX product group. The lighting technology in all emergency lights has of course been switched to modern LEDs. A particular highlight is the variety of convenient maintenance options for emergency lights. Settings, test results and problems can be retrieved from the emergency lights LEDs, via the remote control app, or transmitted over the DALI bus. 3

LUXOMAT net Lighting control for projects of any size The DALISYS modular system P2 Single room solution Multiroom solution Building solution There is a new dimension to DALI: the DALISYS lighting control system is scalable everything from tting out single rooms to lighting control for a complete building complex is possible. The components are addressable and work on the principle of distributed intelligence, which means a high level of operational reliability can be achieved. Multisensors, switch modules, controllers and increasingly now smartphone apps all these control and application devices have one thing in common: they send operating commands triggered by a user or the environment, i.e. time-critical commands, directly or indirectly to the arti cial lighting. In order to properly ensure that all telegrams can be processed, although these may reach their destination almost simultaneously, the multi-master principle was developed with Part 103 of IEC 62386 (part of the DALI2 standard). Products which meet this standard at are part of the DALISYS modular DALI system. As well as addressability and the multi-master principle, a major advantage is decentralised control. If for example one multi-master (e.g. DALI multisensor) sends a light off command to its group, the other multi-master (e.g. DALI switch module) assigned to the same group registers this. It then handles the command in its own application logic as if it had sent it itself. The result is distributed intelligence. The DALISYS portfolio, like a KNX system, includes individual DALI components which can be combined with each other according to the requirements and size of the building. experts plan the con guration according to individual project demands. A special feature is the option to manage DALI emergency lights via DALISYS. The components also offer a range of options for system access, such as programming via USB, Ethernet, LAN or Bluetooth (interface depends on required solution). A good example of the high levels of convenience, safety and energy ef ciency of the new DALISYS product range is the Guided Light Function. With this innovative function, occupancy-dependent control is synchronised across groups. If motion is registered in one group, then the surrounding groups also react, for example with dimmed light. Hence, in an open plan of ce, the occupied workstation can be fully illuminated, and the surrounding lighting groups provide orientation lighting without detecting motion themselves. The person at work is therefore surrounded by a pool of light, which becomes less intense towards the edge. Additional sophisticated functionality, already provided with the system, needs only to be activated to ensure convenient lighting management. Advantages Modular, networkable system, scalable as required High level of safety in operation due to eld-level automation Power supply to control devices is via the DALI bus DALI wiring is independent of group formation Premium functions, which are typically realisable via BACnet or KNX Broad range of multi sensors (also for outdoor use) 4

LUXOMAT net Addressable DALI master occupancy detector and slave device The classroom detector PD4-DAA4G P3 The LUXOMAT PD4-M-DAA4G is a compact DALI lighting management system tailored for training rooms and classrooms, offering uniform lighting conditions. Contained in a single case are: a highly-sensitive occupancy detector, a DALI controller which can group DALI electronic ballasts, a DALI power supply and a push button control for up to 3 lighting zones. Up to 64 DALI units can be connected, and an integrated relay offers yet more options for individual setup according to local requirements e.g. for HVAC or another lighting zone. Using the remote control app (available in the App Store for Android and ios) and the compatible IR adapter for smartphones, grouping of lights and fast commissioning is practically child s play. The device can be used straight out of the box in broadcast mode for energy ef ciency and convenience functions without changing any settings. The wide detection area, and the ability to install the light sensor individually, mean that in many situations, only one detector per room has to be installed. However, if it proves necessary to extend the detection area, up to 4 slave devices can be connected. Initial setup of slave devices works on the plug & play principle: no settings are required before mounting. 5

LUXOMAT net P4 Three functional variants, suitable for every requirement The new generation of KNX occupancy detectors The KNX system offers users many options for intelligent networking. Occupancy-dependent system control is achieved using occupancy and motion detectors. Choosing the right occupancy detectors does not depend solely on their detection range; more or less software functionality may be needed according to mounting location and project requirements The KNX occupancy and motion detectors from Generation 6 onwards are divided into three variants with differing ranges of functionality: The KNX-ST variant is full of improved functionality, for example it excels with improved light measurement thanks to two light sensors* and offers the option to adjust each motion sensor individually. The KNX-DX version additionally offers a wealth of further innovations, e.g. a noise and temperature sensor. The KNX-BA sensors, which only offer switching, will be able to cost effectively connect equipment rooms or storage rooms to the KNX system. via infrared, there are no more boundaries to optimum light measurement. Thanks to bidirectional remote control, all parameters programmed into the detector can be retrieved at any time. Remote control options also offer maximum exibility, with the ability to program buttons for any special functions. The new hardware enables a much smaller mounting depth, which makes installation considerably easier, particularly in restricted installation spaces, e.g. suspended ceilings. The new KNX Gen6 detectors are available with the option of an integrated microphone, temperature sensor and, for the Indoor 140-L wall switch, LEDs for orientation and night light function. This means that acoustic signals can be used alongside PIR sensors for occupancy detection. Individual room temperature control is achievable using the temperature sensor. Innovative new functions enable much closer matching of the system to the users needs. Integrated offset control across three lighting zones enables the setting of different light levels within one room for example. Additionally, complex logical connections can be created via the full-featured integrated logic module. Also, software control of individual motion sensors is implemented for the rst time. In this way, ETS settings can be used to lter out areas for motion detection. This saves the installer from the time-consuming process of having to go up a ladder and install lens blinds. In the eld of brightness-dependent lighting control, the KNX Gen6 occupancy detectors offer the best light measurement yet. With one interior and one exterior light sensor*, plus another brightness object and the option to connect an external table light sensor Highlights* Internal and external light sensor End-customer remote control Additional external light sensor Sensor sensitivity individually adjustable Setting and reading of parameters via bidirectional smartphone app Direction detection *version-dependent 6

LUXOMAT net Innovations in hardware and software Highlights KNX Gen6 Software Highlights Function comparison by variant Individual sensor adjustment Per-sensor adjustment of sensitivity, the sensors can also be completely switched off individually. Direction detection The sensors can detect the direction of movement, and different follow-up times can be set for different directions (follow-up time set per sensor). Bidirectional remote control-capable The free app and the IR adapter for compatible smartphones mean that detectors can not only be programmed but also interrogated. A security PIN protects the detectors from external access. LUXOMAT The occupancy detector that switches and also gives off light Bidirectional remote control-capable P5 In order to greatly simplify the reprogramming of already-installed occupancy and motion detectors, will equip the detectors with specially-developed transmission technology. The rst 230 V occupancy detector in the range to be tted with this technology is the new PD2N-LED. Now, the remote control app can be used not only to program values, but also to retrieve stored values and information about the device. The PD2N-LED motion detector also combines the functionality of a ceiling occupancy detector with that of an LED orientation light in one case for the rst time. The LED orientation light is arranged as a light ring around the detector lens. After automatic switch-off of the main light, the orientation light remains on permanently, or for a de nable follow-up time. Then, the night light can be set up with another dimming value. The LED light offers soft lighting for orientation and night light purposes, and lighting energy consumption is thus reduced to the minimal consumption of the LED ring. To expand the detection area (approx. 10 metres), the occupancy detector can easily be connected with other devices set up as slaves. The combination of orientation lighting and automatic lighting control results in considerably increased convenience and greater energy saving. 8 Brück Electronic GmbH Katrin Rosenthal Gerberstraße 33 D-51789 Lindlar Tel. +49(0)2266.90121-304 4 Katrin.Rosenthal@beg.de nthal@beg.d www.beg-luxomat.com

LUXOMATIC Up-to-date technology in the smallest space P6 The new AL8 surface-mounted light combines an attractive design with the latest LED technology. The robust at polycarbonate diffuser provides rooms with an even light distribution that is easy on the eye. The wide beam angle of 120 illuminates a large surface area. Premium-quality economical LEDs guarantee a 40,000 hour service life and offer high light output for low energy consumption. offers the AL8 in two variants. The AL8-25-300- LED-3C designer light can have three different white tones selected via a slide switch on the back: warm white (3000 K / 2000 lm), neutral white (4000 K / 2100 lm) and daylight white (5700 K / 2120 lm). The lighting is also dimmable. The AL8-25-300-LEDN-HF has a surface height of only 48 mm, concealing a high-performance HF radar detector in its case. With a detection area of up to 6 metres (ceiling mounting 360, wall mounting 140 ), the HF radar detector switches on the lighting conveniently and automatically when movement is detected. Once movement is no longer detected, the light automatically switches off again after the selected time delay. The designer light with HF detector comes in neutral white (4000 K / 2100 lm). An additional protector ring is available as an option for both variants, protecting the lights against vandalism. With a surface height of only 40 mm, the light also impresses with IP54 protection, making it suitable for moisture-proof applications. 9

SAFETYLUX New technology same high quality P7 B.E.G. is proud to present a completely revised range of emergency lights. For the company, this is also a glimpse back at its roots, since it was with the production of emergency lights that founder and CEO Dipl.-Ing. Friedrich Brück laid the company s foundations over 40 years ago. The entire range in the SAFETYLUX product group has been updated. The lighting technology in all emergency lighting has of course been switched to modern LEDs. The aluminium pro le on the Diamant has been made signi cantly slimmer, and the latest lighting technology provides bright and unusually even illumination of the escape route symbol. Brand new to the range is the curved 2DN, a lightweight plastic emergency light with an impressive owing design. A redevelopment of the electronics and software has incorporated comprehensive functions, e.g. an automatic test function. A particular highlight is the variety of convenient maintenance options for emergency lights. Settings, test results and problems can be retrieved from the emergency lights LEDs, via the remote control app, or transmitted over the DALI bus. Bidirectional remote control takes place via the smartphone app and the accompanying adapter for compatible smartphones. A single click brings up on the phone the latest test results, software version, item number and, for emergency lights with a DALI interface, the DALI address. All ceiling and wall emergency lights are optionally available with a DALI interface. This enables the emergency lights to be connected with DALISYS. Emergency lights which are integrated into the system on their own DALI line can then be monitored by other components such as lights or multisensors. All emergency lights on the system can then be displayed easily on a PC or tablet. Their position in the building can be noted and all test results viewed and output as a PDF. Test times can be set up in the system, so that for example routine tests take place after hours. As well as the ceiling and wall emergency lights, the SAFETYLUX Portable emergency lighting has been equipped with modern LED technology. An integral battery enables mobile illumination of areas and routes in power cuts or emergencies. The pivoting spotlight can be individually adjusted so that even when the light is put down, the required area is illuminated. The SAFETYLUX Portable offers three different modes, which are simplicity itself to select via the switch on the spotlight. Long distances of up to 100 metres can be selectively illuminated with the extremely powerful LED spotlight. An LED ring makes it possible to illuminate rooms or larger areas evenly. In order to warn of danger areas, the LED ring has a blink function. A compatible lter range in yellow/red/green is available as an option. 10

Company portrait Brück Electronic GmbH Since 40 years, the family company founded in 1975 with its headquarters in Lindlar (near cologne) stands for quality and innovation with customer satisfaction at its heart. The foundation stone of the products within the comprehensive range was the development and production of emergency lights. Shortly thereafter the production of emergency lighting systems followed. was one of the rst companies in Germany to commence the production of motion detectors and automatic lights in 1986. Since then, has produced several generations of motion detectors mainly for outdoor use on buildings that help increase security. The growth in automated systems for buildings and the resulting increase in the demand for intelligent control led to an expansion in our range of daylight- and presence-depending occupancy detection. The cost reduction through energy saving and the protection of the environment plus the additional comfort factor are strong arguments for the use of occupancy detectors. In 2007, the current distribution and logistics centre with adjoining production and development facilities started operation in Lindlar. In 2014, the new administration building opened next door to the production and distribution centre. Of course all facilities have their building technology supplied from the company s own range. All rooms and routes in the administration building are equipped with KNX occupancy detectors. Control of DALI lights, occupancy detectors, blinds and light switches takes place through the KNX-RCT room controller, developed in-house. operates a continually-growing number of branches and agencies in many countries worldwide. The product range is divided into six product lines: LUXOMAT, LUXOMATIC, LUXOMAT net, SAFETYLUX, CHRONOLUX and SMARTHOME. offers customers a wide product range, individual solutions, outstanding quality and personal service.
