3.0 Description 3.1 Type Exit-Gate The electrical exit system exists of a Series 4000 Auto Gate system. The exit system is normally closed. The opening of the exit system in exit direction follows by an external opening signal (e.g. from a Pay-Tower etc.)the exit system closes after a preadjusted hold open time which will be started again if necessary by a light barrier when passing the exit system. With the Exit-Gate the swivel arms are normally closed. The opening impulse will be triggered by an external signal. The closing impulse will be triggered by a light barrier in the standing column or after the door hold open time is over Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com Page 7 of 27

4.0 View The entry / exit system can be supplied in differing configurations. The pictured system consists of: 1.First standing column possibly with radar 2. Swivel arm 3. Second standing column 4. Light barrier in the entry section 5. Light barriers in the first standing column 6. Radar head 7. Pedestal 8. Entry section 9. Intermediate section 10.Exit section 11. 5.0 Function 5.1 Operation without Radar The swivel arms will be opened synchronically by an external open signal (e.g. from a pay tower). After passing the light barriers in the standing column and the expiration of the hold-open time the swivel arms will be closed again. Does after passing the light barrier another person (e.g. a child) interrupts the light barrier, the hold-open time will be started again. Does another person pass the light barrier during the swivel arms already start closing, the swivel arms will open again and will close after the expiration of hold-open time. Will the light barriers after an external open signal not be passed, the swivel arms will stay open for an also adjusted waiting time (independent on the hold-open time) and close after that waiting time. 5.2 Operation with Radar An external signal (e.g. from a pay tower) sends an opening signal to the exit gate. The swivel arms are staying closed; the preadjusted waiting time starts to run out. Does the radar recognize a movement in the sensor range of the radar and if the waiting time is not over, the swivel arms open synchronous. After passing the light barrier in the standing column and run out of the preadjusted hold-open time the swivel arms will be closed again. Does after passing the light barrier another person interrupt the light barrier, the hold-open time will be started again. Should another person pass the light barrier, the hold-open time will be started new again, as long as the last person has passed the light barrier. Does another person pass the light barrier during the swivel arms already start closing, the swivel arms will open again and will close after the expiration of hold-open time. Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com Page 10 of 27

5.3 Panic Function The panic function can be triggered with a closed passage. Only activate the panic function in an emergency with danger, fire etc. Do not misuse the panic function to open the passageway. Do not misuse the panic function as a personnel passageway. Regularly check the panic function (at least once every half a year) and document the test. Caution: The swivel arm can in case of panic be opened by 90 in both directions. Overstretching this leads to damage of the system. Result: Damage of the system and a panic function which does not function. Make sure that the swivel arm when triggering the panic function is not over-stretched. Leaving the sales room through the system, e.g. in a case of panic, is possible insofar as there is a corresponding counter pressure on the swivel arm. Through the force effect, the positioning of the swivel arm is released. This can be moved and the passage is free. At the same time an acoustic alarm sounds. In the case of panic, the system can be automatically opened in the counter direction (counter opening). After triggering the panic function, the swivel arm automatically goes back to the operating position (closed position). The acoustic alarm stops as soon as the closed position is reached again. The panic function does not work when the system is shut off. The swivel arm is then freely moveable. The panic direction (direction exit) is visible through a sticker on the standing columns. For the connection of the system with a fire alarm system or the likes turn to your Turnstile Security Systems Inc service partner. Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com Page 11 of 27

5.4 Power Supply The control box is built into the standing columns and contains: Attachment screws (A) Key (mains) switch (B) Operating LED (C) Power supply (D)) Fig. 18 Switch position Series 4000 Auto Gate Exit-Gate Switch setting System switched on System switched on (arrow) up Operating LED lights up Radar sensoring activ ON (EIN) Operating LED lights up Switch setting System switched on and blocked System switched on (arrow) left at single systems Radar sensoring not activ CLOSE (ZU) Operating LED lights up Operating LED lights up Switch setting System switched off System switched off (arrow) down Operating LED does not light up Operating LED does not light OFF (Aus) up Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com Page 12 of 27

5.5 Power Supply Series 4000 Auto Gate Security The control box is built into standing columns and contains: Attachment screws (A) Key (mains) switch (B) Operating LED (C) Power supply (D)) the Fig. 19 Switch position Series 4000 Auto Gate Switch setting (arrow) System switched on up ON (EIN)Operating LED lights up (normal operation - swivel arm open) Switch setting (arrow) System switched on and open (evening time operation) left CLOSE (Zu)Operating LED lights up Switch setting (arrow) System switched off down OFF (AUS)Operating LED does not light up 5.6 Entry Section, Intermediate Section, Exit Section (Customer Guidance System) An attached entry section (V) (guide in front of the standing column) leads the customers from the front in the coverage area of the radar and thus recognises an entering person in time. At the same time, the entry section secures unintentional triggering of the radar recognition through cross traffic and thus prevents an unintentional opening of the system. The intermediate section (Z) (guidance between two standing columns) with 2 fold systems secures the swivel area of the first swivel arm and prevents leaving the entrance between the standing columns. The exit section (N) is always after the last standing column and limits the swivel area of the second swivel arm. Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com Page 13 of 27

5.7 Accessories (Optional) 5.7.1 Power Supply from the Ceiling with Series 4000 Auto Gate Systems: Note: The ceiling height must not exceed max. 6 m less. The mains power supply can follow alternatively from the ceiling. Thus if necessary you can do without constructional measures and rebuilding is simplified. The Series 4000 Auto Gate columns are prepared for the power supply from the ceiling from the factory. The internal power supply lines for the connection in the covering cap is integrated in the column. With double systems, the cross connection can also follow through the ceiling. The accessory package "power supply from the ceiling" contains ceiling holder power supply tube (39 inches) clamp tube connection cap for the columns adapter 5.7.2 Tandem Radar (not with Series 4000 Auto Gate Security): With systems without entry section, a second radar module also covers customers coming from angles and triggers an opening impulse. The radar coverage areas can be adjusted individually to the situation on location. A combination tandem radar/exit alarm is only possible for Series 4000 Auto Gate if the power supply does not come from the ceiling. 5.7.3 Panic Alarm Optical or with Voice Output with Series 4000 Auto Gate System When activating the panic function, the panic alarm is activated. For the serial acoustic alarm, the panic alarm can also be carried out optically through flashing light or as voice. The optical panic alarm is however only possible if the power supply does not follow from the ceiling. Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com Page 14 of 27

5.7.4 Exit Alarm (not with Series 4000 Auto Gate Security): Using a radar, the area of the exit section is monitored for movements in the direction of the exit. If a person tries to leave the market through the exit section area, an alarm appear. The alarm can follow: - acoustically through a siren. - optically through flashing light (only without power supply from the ceiling) - with voice output - through a reasonable combination of differing types of alarms. The acoustic alarm stops after 4 sec. 5.7.5 Digital Counter with Series 4000 Auto Gate Systems: In the standing columns there is a digital counter in the radar head. This shows the number of persons entering. The recording follows: - through the radar module which belongs to the standing column - or through the light barrier in the entry section. A reset key on the counter makes it possible to set the counter back to zero. Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com Page 15 of 27

5.7.6 Radio Remote Control (not with Series 4000 Auto Gate Security): For the radio remote control see also operating instruction 98.73693.BA-xxxx. With the radio remote control one or more systems can be remotely controlled. Depending on the environmental conditions, the coverage is up to 30 m. The following functions can be remotely controlled: Key "direction of entrance" (1) Activate key < 4 seconds: the passage is opened in the direction of the entrance for the hold-open time. Activate key > 4 seconds: the passage is opened in the direction of the entrance and remains open. To close the passage activate any key. Key "direction of exit" (2) Activate key < 4 seconds: the passage is opened in the direction of the exit for the hold-open time. Activate key > 4 seconds: the passage is opened in the direction of the exit and remains open. To close the passage activate any key. Key "constantly open" (3) Key activated: the passage is opened depending on the switch position of the dip switch SW1 in the reception module - ON = in the direction of the entrance and remains open. - OFF = in the direction of the exit and remains open. To close the passage activate any key. Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com Page 16 of 27

5.7.9 Swivel Range Monitors through Light Barriers: In the exit section of the system the light barriers are attached. If there is a person or an object in the monitored area, the light barriers recognise this and stop the movement of the swivel arm. After leaving the exit section area, the swivel arm is released again. 5.7.10 Customer Frequency Measurement For the customer frequency measurement see also software operating instruction 98.73571.BG-xxxx. The control unit can report the counted persons with the standard available interface (RS 485) on a subordinate evaluation device (Windows PC with the software customer frequency measurement). A maximum of 31 Series 4000 Auto Gate systems can be networked with one PC. The single systems can be remotely controlled with the PC. The data are stored in the PC and are available for further evaluation. 5.7.11 Barrier Manipulation Arm With manipulation of the barrier during the closing process, an acoustic alarm is triggered. The acoustic alarm stops after 4 sec. Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com Page 17 of 27

6.0 Assembly Caution: Observe with the selection of the assembly location the swivel arm width and the necessary swivel area. 6.1 Assembly of the Standing Columns and Pedestals Place the standing columns on the planned assembly location. Fig. 20 Mark the position for the attachment screws of the standing columns. Drill with a 0.5 inch concrete drill the 4 attachment holes for the standing columns. Remove the drilled dust completely (drill dust reduces the holding power of the anchor). Insert the anchor flush as per drawing. Place the standing column on the inserted anchor Lead the power supply through an empty tube laid in the floor to the standing column or lead the power supply through the ceiling and an empty tube in the standing column of the system. Also lead with double systems the 12 V signal line through the floor supply or through the ceiling supply to the other standing columns. Make sure that power supply and signal lines are laid separately in order to avoid disturbances through coupling. Lead the mains power supply in the standing columns and through the opening for the power part out again. Also lead the 12 V signal line to the other power parts with double systems. 8.0 Function Check 8.1 Exit Gate Double The waiting time (90/120 sec) depends on the position of the DIP selection switch. The hold-open time (0-15 sec) depends on the position of the time select switch. 8.1.1 Normal Operation The swivel arms are closed. Trigger an external release signal (e.g. to pay at a pay-tower). The swivel arms open for the open time. Pass at the columns in direction exit. Hereby you interrupt the light barrier in the columns. The swivel arms are closing after passing the light barriers and after run out of holdopen time. 8.1.2 No Passing of the Exit Gate after Opening of the Swivel Arms Trigger an external release signal (e.g. payment at the Pay-Tower). The swivel arms open. Wait until the longer waiting time has run out, without going through the exit system. The swivel arms are closing after elapsed waiting time. 8.1.3 Passing the Exit gate with many Persons after Opening the Swivel Arms The swivel arms are closed Trigger an external release signal (e.g. payment at the pay-tower). The swivel arms open. Pass the columns in exit direction. Hereby you interrupt the light barrier in the columns. Let another person or more persons pass the light barriers in the hold-open time period. The swivel arms are closing after each passing by the light barriers by the last person and after elapsed hold-open time. Turnstile Security Systems Inc, 40 Erin Park Drive, Erin Ontario Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com

8.1.4 Pass the Exit Gate during Closing the Swivel Arms The swivel arms are closed. Trigger an external release signal (e.g. payment at the pay-tower). The swivel arms open. Pass the columns in exit direction. Hereby you interrupt the light barrier in the columns. Let another person then pass the light barriers when the swivel arms are going to close. The swivel arms open again and are closing first after passing the light barriers by the last person and after running out of the hold-open time. 8.2 Check the Anti Panic Function Caution: The swivel arm can in case of panic be opened by 90 in both directions. Overstretching this leads to damage of the system. Result: Damage of the system and a panic function which does not function Make sure that the swivel arm when triggering the panic function is not over-stretched. The swivel arm is closed. Try to open the swivel arm counter to the passage direction. The swivel arm blocks the passage and does not open. Press with a hefty pressure against the swivel arm. The anti-panic function is effective and the swivel arm can be opened. At the same time an acoustic panic alarm sounds (possibly an optional further alarm appears). The swivel arm automatically closes again and the panic alarm shuts off. Turnstile Security Systems Inc, 40 Erin Park Drive, Erin Ontario Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com

9.0 Cleaning, Maintenance, and Care Warning: No cleaning of electrical components with a damp towel. Result: Danger to life through electrical shock or destruction of the electrical components. Make sure that electrical components are not cleaned with a damp towel. Regular cleaning, care and checking will preserve the value of the system. Clean the system regularly after the startup with a soft clean towel and with 25 C warm water with dishwashing detergent. Only slightly dampen the cleaning towel. With the stainless steel parts after drying off apply the stainless steel protector INOX Brilliant to the surface. With the stainless steel parts, if necessary, use Scotch Polishing pads to remove rust film, clean the surface and apply the stainless steel protector INOX Brilliant. Turnstile Security Systems Inc recommends that you completely clean the turnstile regularly, at least every six months. Do not use any material made from microfibre or similar when cleaning the system. Clean the reflex mirror with systems with light barriers in short regular intervals with a soft cotton towel. Turnstile Security Systems Inc, 40 Erin Park Drive, Erin Ontario Website: www.turnstilesecurity.com

10.0 Dismantling Danger: The system contains mains voltage which can be dangerous when touched. Result: Danger of electrical shock. Switch off the mains power supply. Let an electrician carry out the release and clamping of the power supply. Secure against switching on again through taking the fuses or taping over the securing parts and attaching instructions. Check to be sure that the power is cut off. Disassemble the system in the reverse order from assembly. Regularly check reflex mirrors for damage and replace defective reflex mirrors. Check the system regularly for the proper condition. Have the electronic installation regularly checked by an electrician. Keep a written record of all inspections.
