The subtle variations in shade and pattern are characteristic of these printing processes. COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: All wallpapers are printed in the U.K., except the Downing wallpaper, (WP 8001), which is printed in the USA. SPECIAL GOLD LACQUER WALLPAPERS: Two wallpapers, the Vine WP 1301 1 and Vine WP 1301 3 (only colorways #1 and #3) are double printed using a gold lacquer technique. INSTALLATION INFORMATION There are special instructions beyond usual good practice to install these wallpapers. CHECK BATCHES: Inspect all rolls before hanging to ensure that all rolls are from the same batch and in good condition. HANGING THE PAPER: Walls should be clean, firm and dry. Roughen painted surfaces with sandpaper. Remove all old wallcoverings and fill holes and cracks. Apply a size to absorbent coatings such as new drywall or plaster. Before cutting, check first for pattern matching and that the pattern is the right way up. Apply an even coat of paste (see PASTES & ADHESIVES), ensuring the edges are well covered. Gently fold and book the wallpaper, allowing about 4 to 5 minutes. Do not over book (ie: over soak) these wallpapers. Only paste one length at a time. Use a plumb line to ensure the first length of wallpaper is hung straight. Smooth the wallpaper with a paper hanging brush from the center to the edges to expel any bubbles trapped behind the paper. Do not use a plastic smoother as these can sometimes burnish the surface of the paper. Site conditions are beyond our control. Check results after hanging one roll. We cannot accept any claims for labor costs or consequential loss. with water according to manufacturer s instructions. Pre mixed, clear, starch based adhesives may also be used. Mechanical pulps are not a major cause for environmental concern since the process produces mostly benign by products such as water. PRINTING: The inks and coatings used in the printing process have a high percentage of naturally occurring fillers and pigments including china clays, limestones, ochres, oxides and other natural pigments. No pigments are used which contain lead or other heavy metals. The inks and coatings are water based with very low VOC (volatile organic compound) levels. with water according to manufacturer s instructions. These pastes produce no VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Pre mixed, clear, starch based adhesives may also be used. The composition of these adhesives will vary slightly between manufacturers, so the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) supplied by the manufacturer of the paste should be consulted to check for any concerns.
