IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliances especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following: 1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS. 2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use any handles or knobs. Parts become hot during popping. 3. To protect against electrical shock, do not place cord, plug or appliance in water or other liquid. 4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is operated by or near children. 5. Do not leave appliance unattended while in use. 6. A popper that is plugged into an outlet should not be left unattended. 7. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before cleaning and putting on or taking off parts. 8. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment. 9. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electrical shock or injury. 10. Do not use outdoors. 11. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. 12. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven. 13. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids. 14. Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use. 15. To disconnect, turn all controls to OFF then remove plug from wall outlet. 16. Check kettle for presence of foreign objects prior to use. 17. Make sure kettle is properly attached to brackets before operating and ensure that internal kettle plug is connected to outlet on top inside of popper. 18. This popper will not shut off automatically. To avoid overheating, add corn and oil before operating. 19. DO NOT leave kettle motor running after popping has ended. 20. Extreme caution must be used when unloading popcorn. When emptying the kettle, always rotate the kettle using the handle from the outside of the popper so that residual hot oil, hot water or hot kernels will not cause burns. 21. Keep door closed while operating popper. 22. Do not pop kernels with a dry kettle (without oil). 23. Kettle surfaces are extremely HOT and should not be touched during popping or just after use. 24. The popper pops using hot oil. Do not place shortening, butter, margarine, salts or seasonings in the kettle. Use of these will cause hazards and damage the popper. 2 SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. It may be plugged into an AC electrical outlet (ordinary household current). Do not use any other electrical outlet. DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY. A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used, 1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and 2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally. POLARIZED PLUG This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug and try again. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS 1. Never pull or yank on cord or the appliance. 2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet. 3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet. 4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced. 5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undo stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break. For your safety, always read and understand the Use and Care Manual before attempting to use any electric appliance. 4

BEFORE USING 1. Carefully unpack the popcorn popper and all parts. Remove all packaging materials, including any stickers or labels. 2. Hand wash the kettle and popcorn tray in warm soapy water. DO NOT SUBMERGE THE KETTLE, KETTLE PLUG OR THE POPPER IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. Rinse and dry thoroughly. DO NOT PLACE THE PLASTIC POPCORN TRAY IN THE DISHWASHER. THE PLASTIC MATERIAL COULD DEFORM AND NOT PROPERLY FIT THE POPPING BASE. 3. To clean the interior and exterior surfaces of the popper, wipe and clean with a soft dry cloth. NEVER IMMERSE THE POPPER OR CORD IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. 4. Position the popcorn popper on a dry, level, heat-resistant surface. 5. It is recommended to operate this appliance on a separate outlet and circuit from other appliances to avoid overloading the circuit. ASSEMBLING THE POPPER This popcorn popper and kettle require some assembly. Be sure all parts are properly assembled before use. 1. Holding the steel kettle at an angle, position the kettle inside the popper. Securely mount the notches on the kettle posts into the metal brackets inside the popper (Figure 1, step 1a). Rotate the kettle so the gear on the kettle center post engages with the gear on the top inside of the popper (Figure 1, step 1b). 2. Insert the internal kettle plug into the socket on the top inside of the popper (Figure 2). 3. Insert the kettle handle through the hole in the outside of the popper and into the notch on the kettle post (Figure 3). 4. Place the popcorn tray in the bottom of the popper (Figure 4). Figure 1 (steps 1a & 1b) Figure 2 Figure 3 Figure 4 5

HOW TO USE WARNINGS: DO NOT TOUCH THE KETTLE WITH YOUR BARE HANDS. While in operation, the kettle will become extremely hot. Do not attempt to pop popcorn in a dry kettle (without oil). Cooking with hot oil can be dangerous. Do not leave the popper unattended while plugged in or in use. This product is not a toy. Do not allow children to use the popper without adult supervision. Keep the door closed while operating the popper. 1. Make sure the popper is unplugged, all switches are in the off position and assemble the popper as described in ASSEMBLING THE POPPER section. 2. Plug into a 120V outlet, preferably on a separate outlet from other appliances to prevent the circuit from being overloaded. 3. Turn the LIGHT switch and the POPCORN switch to the ON position. The light will turn on and the stirrer will begin to rotating in the kettle. The kettle is also beginning to heat. 4. Allow the kettle to preheat for 1 to 2 minutes. 5. Momentarily turn the POPCORN switch to the OFF position in order to add contents to the kettle. 6. Open the kettle using the handle and add 1 scoop of oil (1 tablespoon of vegetable, canola, corn, peanut or safflower oil) and 1 scoop of popcorn kernels (¼ cup). NEVER fill the kettle with more than ¼ cup popcorn kernels. CAUTION: Kettle handle may be hot. It is advised to use a pot holder or oven mitt. 7. Close the kettle lid and turn the POPCORN switch to the ON position. 8. Close the popper door. Always operate the popper with the door closed. 9. In a few minutes, the corn will begin to pop and spill out from the hinged kettle lid. Each batch will yield between 6 and 8 cups of popped popcorn. 10. When you no longer hear corn popping, the popping is complete. Turn the POPCORN switch to the OFF position. Using the lever (kettle flip handle) on the outside of the popper, tip the kettle to release any remaining popcorn and kernels into the plastic tray. 11. The LIGHT switch may remain in the ON position. If the popper is not in continued use, the POPCORN switch should be left in the 6

OFF position. If popping multiple batches of popcorn continuously, occasionally turn the POPCORN switch to OFF and allow the kettle to cool down for 5 to 10 minutes. 12. Drizzle melted butter, sprinkle salts or seasonings over popped corn, if desired. 13. When finished popping, turn the POPCORN and LIGHT switches to the OFF position. Unplug the popper from the wall outlet. Allow the kettle and popper to cool before disconnecting the internal kettle power cord, handling the kettle, moving the popper, or cleaning the popper. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. 1. Before cleaning, turn all switches to the OFF position, unplug the outer plug from the wall outlet as well as the kettle motor plug inside the popper. Allow to cool. 2. Hand wash the kettle and popcorn tray in warm soapy water. DO NOT SUBMERGE THE KETTLE, KETTLE PLUG OR THE POPPER IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. Rinse and dry thoroughly. 3. To clean the interior and exterior surfaces of the popper, wipe and clean with a soft dry cloth. NEVER IMMERSE THE POPPER OR CORD IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. 4. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads to clean the popcorn popper, as those may damage the surfaces. A scouring pad may be used to thoroughly clean the kettle. Do not place any parts in the dishwasher. DO NOT PLACE THE PLASTIC POPCORN TRAY IN THE DISHWASHER. THE PLASTIC MATERIAL COULD DEFORM AND NOT PROPERLY FIT THE POPPING BASE. LIGHT BULB The light bulb can be replaced with an AC 120V 10W bulb. To store, be sure all parts are clean and dry. Place the kettle properly inside the popper. Store popcorn tray and scoops inside popper. Store appliance in its box or in a clean, dry place. Never store it while it is hot or wet. Never wrap cord tightly around the appliance; keep it loosely coiled. 7

HINTS AND SUGGESTIONS This popcorn popper will pop a variety of popcorn. The yield and popping time may depend upon what variety of corn is used. It is normal for popped corn and possibly unpopped kernels to remain in the kettle after operation. This is caused by the differences in corn types, freshness or moisture content. Fresh popcorn kernels are best. Store sealed in a pantry or location free of moisture. Kernels that are refrigerated or frozen will be dried out and should not be used. In general, yellow corn pops larger than white corn. Some lighter weight kernels are not recommended for use in this popper. Always read the instructions from the corn manufacturer. NEVER use microwave popcorn kernels in this popper. For different tastes, try adding different seasonings, salts, spices, oils or even fresh grated Parmesan to popped corn. NEVER add these seasonings to the kernels before popping or to the kettle. NEVER fill the kettle with more than ¼ cup popcorn kernels. 8
