CS Cubicle Curtains SECTION 10 21 23 CUBICLE CURTAINS WITH SNAP LOCK SYSTEM PART 1 GENERAL 1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. 1.02 SUMMARY A. This section includes the following: 1. Cubicle curtains 1.03 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS A. Curtains: Provide curtain fabrics with the following characteristics: 1. Fabrics are launderable to a temperature of not less than 160 deg F (71 deg C). 2. Fabrics are flame resistant and are identical to those that have passed NFPA 701 when tested by a testing and inspecting agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ). 1.04 SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: Submit copies of manufacturer s detailed technical data for materials, fabrication, and physical appearance. B. Shop Drawings: Show layout and types of cubicle curtains, sizes of curtains, and number of carriers. C. Samples for Verification: Provide samples of the following: 1. Curtain Fabric: 12-inch square swatch or larger sample as required to show complete pattern repeat, from dye lot used for the work, with specified treatments applied. 2. Mesh Top: Not less than 4 inches square, demonstrating manufacture s standard hemming around mesh perimeter with matching fabric.
D. Cubicle Schedule: Use same room designations as indicated on drawings E. Maintenance Data: Provide fabric manufacturer s standard maintenance procedure documentation. 1.05 PROJECT CONDITIONS A. Environmental Limitations: Do not install cubicles until spaces are enclosed and weatherproof, wet work in spaces is complete and dry, work above ceilings is complete, and ambient temperature and humidity conditions are maintained at the levels indicated for Project when occupied for its intended use. B. Field Measurements: Where cubicles are indicated to fit to other construction, verify dimensions of other construction by field measurements before fabrication and indicate measurements on Shop Drawings. Coordinate fabrication schedule with construction progress to avoid delaying the work. 1.06 WARRANTY A. Provide copy of manufacturer s standard warranty. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 MANUFACTURERS A. Cubicle Curtain with C/S Snap Lock System: 1. Curtain Top: CS Snap Lock mesh header, not less than 20" (510 mm) wide nylon mesh with ½" (13 mm) holes. Mesh to have a perimeter framing fabricated from the same fabric as the body of the curtain. Overlap seams and double-lock stitch to body of curtain. a. Body of curtain to be removable from mesh header. b. Snap system to be sewn to body and mesh of curtain using a double needle interlocked stitch. c. Top hem is to be double folded to conceal the snap system and provide a finished appearance front and back. 2. Width: Curtain width to be fabricated as follows: <**Note to specifier please select either a. one continuous width curtain or b. panel system> a. In full size units equal to track length from which curtain is hung plus 10 percent, but not less than 12" (300 mm). [OR]
b. As an interchangeable panel system, 6 or 8 panels, to be hung in conjunction with one another to fit required track lengths plus 10 percent, but not less than 12" (300 mm). i. Panel system units to use 8 overlap when mating panels to one another (side hem snaps are not to be used). ii. Additional top hem snaps to be located on front side of curtain as necessary to mate 8 overlap. Snaps to not exceed overlap. 3. Length: Equal to floor-to-ceiling height minus 2" from finished ceiling at top and 12 [OR] 15 above finished floor <**Note to specifier please select either 12 or 15 > 4. Top Hem: Not less than 1" (26 mm) and not more than 1 ½" (40 mm) wide, triple thickness, reinforced with integral web and double stitched. a. Grommets: 2 piece, rolled-edge, rustproof, nickel-plated brass and spaced not more than 6" (150 mm) o.c. 5. Bottom and Side Hems: Not less than 1" (25 mm) wide, reinforced, triple thickness and single stitched. 6. Seams: Not less than ½" (13 mm) wide, double turned and double stitched. D. Curtain Tieback: At each termination. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION A. Examine areas and conditions in which the cubicle track system will be installed 1. Complete all finishing operations, including painting, before beginning installation of cubicle tracking system materials. E. Verify that surfaces and above ceiling supports are ready to receive work. 3.02 INSTALLATION A. General: Locate the cubicle track as indicated on the approved detail drawing for the appropriate substrate B. Installation of Cubicle Track System: 1. Install cubicle track, secure, rigid, and true to ceiling line. 2. Slide carriers onto the track. 3. Install end cap or stop device. 4. Secure or suspend track to ceiling system. Install with mechanical fasteners or T-Grid clips
5. Install curtains on carriers ensuring smooth operation. 3.03 CLEANING A. At completion of the installation, remove any debris and clean surfaces in accordance with CS cleaning and maintenance instructions. END OF SECTION
