MIEDEMA CP 22 FARMER The Miedema CP 22 is the best choice for professional potato growers with small or irregular plots. The lifted two-row planter forms a very compact, manoeuvrable combination. Despite the modest size of the CP 22, the fixed hopper has a capacity of up to 750 kilograms. MIEDEMA CP 42 LIFTED Short and manoeuvrable, the CP 42 lifted is the best choice for potato growers who want a large capacity. MIEDEMA CP 42 TRAILED The trailed Miedema CP 42 has the same unique characteristics as the lifted version. A big difference is the enormous hopper with an amazing volume of 3.6 tonnes of seed potatoes. You waste little time with time-consuming tasks like refilling your hopper, so you can use your valuable time effectively for what really counts: planting your potatoes. MIEDEMA CP 42 SMART-FLOAT Miedema CP 42 Smart-Float makes it possible to cultivate the soil with fully automatic, constant depth control while planting with the highest precision and simultaneously ridging. Sensors continuously measure the available quantity of cultivated soil, and the depth of the cultivator is then automatically adjusted accordingly. The ridging hood with MR-Control ensures the formation of a perfect ridge, with ideal shape and compaction. THE MIEDEMA CUP PLANTING SYSTEM Planting with the highest possible precision? You can, with the Miedema CP cup planter. The unique, parabolic planting tube is specially designed to plant the potato as precisely and RELIABLY as possible. Specially shaped cups, in combination with the agitators, ensure that the potatoes are nicely singled and missers are ruled out. Optical detection, with what is called the Eagle-Eye system, keeps a close eye on the planting process and provides the information you need for an even crop and high yield. The small bottom roller ensures that the potato falls in a straight line to the middle of the seedbed. This, along with the covering discs that are located close to the planting element, guarantees the position of the tuber, even at high driving speeds. Cleaning brushes beneath the planting element keep the potato cups free of dirt. This eliminates the need to interrupt the planting for unpleasant, time-consuming, manual cleaning. PLANTING ELEMENT Practical experience is the best teacher. The developers at Miedema have incorporated users wishes into the design of the unique Miedema planting element. The potato-friendly cups, which are tipped forward at an 8 angle in the ascending section, provide excellent pick-up and singling of the potatoes, even in hilly terrain. The large top roller in combination with the parabolic-shaped planting tube, which are tipped forward at a 20 angle in the descending section, give each individual tuber the perfect starting position for achieving the most precise placement. MOVING BED CLEANING BRUSHES FURROW OPENER The unique moving bed of the Miedema CP potato planter is located on the bottom of the planting element. This moving, trapezoidal grate prevents bridging of the potatoes and therefore creates a perfect flow of seed potatoes to the pick-up section of the planting element. The constant supply of potatoes makes it possible to single them well. Broken-off sprouts and soil are separated out before they can reach the planting tube. Because the moving bed can be disengaged with a single action, the planter is easy to empty. Improving the ease of use and boosting the quality of the planting result were the main objectives during development of the integrated cleaning brushes in the planting tube. These prevent contamination of the cups and the associated smearing of the seed potatoes. The brushes clean the cups after each revolution. An additional advantage is that the singling remains constant, thus guaranteeing the planting result. The unique V-shaped furrow opener is fitted with a small chisel that makes a narrow furrow. The resulting loose soil prevents the potato from continuing to roll. The result is precise placement of the tuber and an optimal start of the potato plant s growing process. The specially shaped furrow opener with upturned wings prevents accumulation, is easy to pull through the soil and creates good soil flow around the planter. The design with interconnected furrow openers attached in a parallelogram arrangement results in a perfectly formed wedge-shaped furrow. The planting depth can be easily adjusted with the large depth-control discs, which are attached to the accessories bracket. This system enables the Miedema CP to place the seed potatoes in a straight line, at constant planting depth and with equal spacing in the row. This is Precision-Planting! 7

ULTIMATE EASE OF USE WITH THE MIEDEMA HMI OPERATOR PANEL Ease of use is the starting point for development of all Miedema machines. Thanks to our own HMI (Human Machine Interface) system, it is exceptionally ENJOYABLE to work with the hydraulically driven planters. The system supports the driver, performing many tasks for him, while all the planting statistics are shown on a well-organised screen in the tractor cab. The Miedema HMI operator panel can be easily connected to your tractor s GPS system. This provides access to the unique Miedema HMI GPS Planting-Comfort or -Control option. You can easily define your planting plot from the tractor cab. In combination with the Row-Stop option the tramlines and headlands can be laid out automatically. With this at your fingertips you can respond adequately to changing circumstances and efficiently adjust the planting settings for every situation. MIEDEMA JOYSTICK WITH FIVE FREELY PROGRAMMABLE FUNCTIONS The Miedema joystick with five freely programmable functions is available as an option. The joystick connects to the HMI with a USB connector, so it couldn t be easier. 8

OPTIONS FERTI-FLOW SPRAYER SET, GRANULATE AND POWDER SPREADER EAGLE-EYE The modular tank superstructure for simultaneous application of granular fertiliser is possible in combination with the trailed version of the 4-row cup planter (CP 42P). Large stainless steel tanks with a capacity of up to 2200 litres provide a high capacity. The fertiliser application rate per hectare is continuously adjustable. The granulate is applied by large discs to the left and right of the planter at a distance of 5 cm, so the granulate does not come into contact with the tuber. The belt metering system leaves the granulate intact and is impervious to lumps, moisture and stones. Various options such as a sprayer set, granulate spreader and/or powder spreader allow you to configure your cup planter for the specific crop you are planting. Automatic application of granulate is driving-speed dependent, so the application is consistent. The automatic activation of various options can be set on the Miedema HMI screen, giving the user the choice, for example, of setting crop protection product application manually or having it completely controlled by the system. The Eagle-Eye optical miss detection system detects each individual tuber. This is done in the planting tube of the planting element. The system achieves extreme accuracy through the use of two sensors to provide the signal to the Miedema HMI screen in the tractor cab. The user can pre-configure a limit for the percentage of missers. If this limit is exceeded, the system generates both a visual and audible signal. The user can then check and correct the planting settings in a timely, adequate manner. HMI GPS PLANTING-COMFORT / PLANTING-CONTROL For the farmer who places the very highest requirements on ease of use, efficiency and precision, Miedema has developed the options HMI GPS Planting-Comfort and HMI GPS Planting-Control. This easy to operate system can automate many tasks. HMI GPS Planting-Comfort is exceptionally efficient for plots with V-shaped gullies and tight corners. The GPS coordinates of the plot are entered by simply making a single pass around the boundary of your plot, entering A-B lines or loading shape files. Based on these GPS data the HMI ensures that all the planting rows are switched on and off, independently or simultaneously, when the planter is inside or outside the inner field. The system also handles the automatic layout of tramlines effortlessly. The result? Ease of use, efficiency and straight headland lines. Variable application of crop protection products and fertiliser are handled automatically and efficiently by Miedema s HMI GPS Planting-Control. Moreover, location-specific planting, granulate spreading and fertilisation can be performed based on a task map, all completely independently of each other. 9

OPTIONS RIDGING HOOD WITH MR-CONTROL Planting and ridging in a single working pass has both ECONOMICAL and cultivation-related benefits. A uniform ridge retains moisture better and holds its shape better throughout the growing season. It also saves one pass with the row cultivator or ridge former. Clearly, then, the cost benefits are numerous and considerable. Direct ridging also ensures that the tuber is planted exactly in the middle of the final ridge. Ridges of the very highest quality are achieved through the use of MR-Control. Sensors continuously measure the quantity of loose soil (rather than pressure) in the ridging hood, and the hood automatically adjusts its position accordingly. CAGE ROLLERS As an alternative to ridge forming with a ridging hood, it is possible to equip the Miedema CP cup planter with cage rollers. These cage rollers are mainly intended for forming ridges in lighter soils. Major advantages of this approach are the loose soil and the open structure of the ridge. In addition, water, nutrients and heat can more easily penetrate the ridge. This gives each individual potato plant access to the essential nutrients it requires. Under these conditions, ridge formation with our cage rollers also provides the perfect start to your growing season. HYDRAULIC DRIVE Ease of use and extreme precision are the two biggest advantages for the farmer who chooses a hydraulically driven planter. The central hydraulic motor drives all the elements of the machine, and the system is controlled through the HMI screen in the tractor cab. From the comfort of his seat the user can set the planting spacing from 3.8 to 50 centimetres, in steps of one millimetre. EROSION-STOP When growing crops in ridges on sloping plots erosion can be a problem. The water is more likely to begin flowing across the surface before it has had the chance to penetrate into the soil. This situation is detrimental to the topsoil, nutrients and phyto-products. To prevent this, Miedema has developed the patented Erosion-Stop. This hydraulically driven machine, which is mounted directly to the ridging hood, forms soil barriers between the ridges. By adjusting the frequency and the shovel depth, you can adjust the number of barriers and their height. With its low weight (±200 kg), the low-maintenance, robust construction is suitable for both trailed and lifted potato planters. Water and topsoil can no longer run off, which improves each individual potato plant s access to moisture, nutrients and air. The Miedema Erosion-Stop creates the perfect growing conditions for the potato plant. 10
