Important features and advice is given throughout this manual relating to specific parts and accessories. To ensure you get the maximum use from your machine, regular maintenance is advised. 3

General Precautions This pressure washer is designed for very specific applications. Do not modify or use it for any application other than for which it is designed. Never operate when there is: - A noticeable change in engine speed. - A noticeable loss of pressure - An engine misfire. - Smoke or flames present. - In an enclosed compartment. - Excessive vibration. - Rain or inclement weather. The pressure washer is for outdoor use only. Never use indoors or without adequate ventilation. All equipment must be placed on a firm, level and stable surface. Keep the pressure washer clean and free of oil, mud and dirt. Prior to starting the pressure washer in cold weather, be sure ice has not formed in any part of the equipment. While operating the pressure washer, do not wear loose clothing, jewellery, or anything that may be caught in the engine. Wear safety goggles while operating. Never directly spray the hose at people or animals. Never allow children to operate the pressure washer at any time. Remove the spark plug to prevent accidental starting when not in use, or prior to detaching the high pressure hose. To prevent accidental discharge, the spray gun should be secured by locking the trigger when not in use. Do not run the pressure washer for more than two minutes without depressing the trigger or damage to the pump may result. Test the pressure washer on a small inconspicuous area first. Some surfaces can be damaged by high water spray such as paint which can be removed with enough pressure spray. Gun Storage When storing the unit, it is always advisable to allow any resuidual water to drain from the system. Take special care when storing the gun and hoses. If stored with water inside and allowed to freeze, expansion will cause damage to the internal components. To avoid water expansion, turn off the unit and cut off water supply. Depress gun trigger, facing down, to allow water to drain. This allows expansion of any residual water without damaging the internal components. We do not advise storing the machine and accessories in cold conditions, especially where freezing is ikely to occur. 4

Safety Features Hose Safety Use both hands to control the wand. Do not allow the hose to come in contact with the hot muffler. Do not touch the nozzle or water spray while operating. Water spray must never be directed towards any electric wiring or directly towards the pressure washer. Only approved hoses and nozzles should be used. The trigger gun must not be jammed in position during operation. Never tie knots or kink the high pressure hose. Do not use damaged high pressure hoses. All hose connections must be properly sealed. Thermal Relief Valve A thermal relief valve is provided to protect the pump from overheating if the spray gun is closed for an extended length of time or the nozzle becomes plugged. However it is only intended to be used as a backup system and every effort should be made to ensure that you pull the spray gun trigger to allow water flow so that there are no blockages in the system. Sefety Latch To prevent accidental discharge of high pressure water, the safety latch on the trigger should be engaged whenever the pressure washer is not in use. The engine and pump on your pressure washer will often improve performance after a break-in period of several hours. 5

Getting Started Automatic ON/OFF The motor on this pressure washer does not run continuously. It only runs when the trigger of the spray gun is squeezed. After following the start up procedures in this manual, turn the pressure washer on and squeeze the trigger for activation. Bleeding The Gun It is very important to bleed the gun before using the pressure washer. Squeeze the trigger to allow any air that is trapped inside of the unit and hose to escape. Continue to squeeze trigger until a steady stream of water comes from the nozzle. (This process may take up to 2 minutes). 6

Operating Instructions This unit is to be connected to a cold water source only. The motor of this pressure washer will not run, it will only operate when the trigger is squeezed. 1. Connect the outlet hose to the washer and connect the spray gun to the outlet hose. 2. Connect nozzle and nozzle extension. 3. Check gauze filter is clear of any blockage. 4. Connect the water supply hose. 5. Check that the hose has no kinks in it. 6. Turn on water and check for leaks. 7. Depress trigger to allow air to be expelled though the pump and hoses, lock the trigger. 8. Plug in machine and turn on switch. 9. Unlock trigger and use the pressure washer. Shut Down 1. Turn off the motor (push switch to the off position.) 2. Unplug the unit from the power source. 3. Turn off the water supply. 4. Press the trigger of the gun to de-pressurise the system. 5. Wipe all surfaces of the unit with a damp clean cloth. 6. Engage the gun safety lock. Always turn off the unit s motor before turning off the unit s water supply. Serious damage could occur to the motor if the unit is run without water. Never disconnect the high-pressure discharge hose from the machine while the system is still pressurised. To de-pressurise the unit, turn off the motor, turn off the water supply and squeeze the trigger 2-3 times. 8

Nozzles This Portable Pressure Washer comes with five nozzle attachments for different uses. Please refer to the diagram below and on the pressure washer itself to see which nozzle is applicable for your purpose. 0 Nozzle Red (fig.1): This nozzle delivers a pinpoint stream of pressurized water and is extremely powerful. It covers only a small area of cleaning. This nozzle should only be directed at surfaces that can withstand high pressure such as metal or concrete. Do not use this nozzle to clean wood. 15 Nozzle Yellow (fig.2): This nozzle delivers a powerful 15 degree spray pattern for intense cleaning of small areas. This nozzle should only be used on areas and materials that can withstand high pressure. Fig.1 Fig.2 Fig.3 Fig.4 Fig.5 25 Nozzle Green (fig.3): This nozzle delivers a 25 degree spray pattern for intense cleaning of larger areas. This nozzle should only be used on areas that can withstand pressure from this nozzle. 40 Nozzle White (fig.4): This nozzle delivers a 40 degree spray pattern and a less powerful stream of water. This nozzle can cover a wide area and should be used for most general cleaning jobs. Detergent Nozzle Blue/Black (fig.5): This nozzle is used to apply special chemicals and cleaning solutions. This nozzle produces the weakest pressure stream of the five nozzles. The nozzles are stored in receptacles on a panel mounted to the handle of the washer. 9

Water Inlet Screen The water inlet filter must be inspected regularly, so as to avoid blockage and restriction in the water supply to the pump. (fig.6) Fig.6 Fig.7 Fig.8 Using Detergent 1. Add Detergent to the container (fig.6) 2. Attach the Detergent Nozzle (Blue/Black). This creates the correct back pressure to draw chemicals through (fig.7) 3. Trigger gun to spray detergent (fig.8) Hose Reel Handle The hose reel handle turns down for use and up for storage. To turn up the handle, pull out and turn up. (fig.9) Fig.9 10

Ongoing Maintenance Connections The connections on the pressure washer hoses, gun and spray wand should be cleaned regularly and lubricated with the manufacturer s recommended grease to prevent leakage and damage to the 0 Rings. Nozzle Clogging of the nozzle will cause the pump pressure to be too high. If the nozzle is clogged, clean it immediately. A nozzle cleaner must only be used when the spray wand is disconnected from the gun or personal injury could occur. 1. Turn off the pressure washer. 2. Separate the wand from the gun 3. Clear the nozzle with included wire or use a small rigid piece of wire such as a paper clip 4. Flush the nozzle backwards with water. 5. Reconnect the wand to the gun. Restart the pressure washer and depress the trigger on the spray gun. If the nozzle is still partially blocked or plugged, repeat above instructions 1-4. If the previous procedure does not clear the nozzle, replace it with a new one. Water Screen Some pressure washers are equipped with a water inlet screen to protect the pump. If the screen is not kept clean, it will restrict the flow of water to the pressure washer and may cause damage to the pump. The screen is fragile so be careful when cleaning or removing it. Any foreign particles entering the pump may damage it. Do not operate the pressure washer without the screen in place (if originally equipped.) Remove the screen and back-flush to remove impurities from the screen. Replace afterwards immediately. 11

Storage Pump Storage If you must store your pressure washer in a location where the temperature is below freezing, you can minimise the chance of damage to your washer with the following instructions. 1. Shut off the water supply and relieve pressure in the spray gun by depressing the trigger. Disconnect the garden hose from the pressure washer, but leave the high pressure hose connected. 2. Tip the unit on its side with the inlet connection pointing up. 3. Insert a small funnel (to prevent spilling) into the inlet and pour in approximately 1/4 cut of RV antifreeze. 4. Prior to restarting, thaw out any possible ice from the pressure washer hoses, spray gun and wand. Another method of reducing the risk of freeze damage is to drain your pressure washer as follows: 1. Stop the pressure washer and detach the supply hose and the high pressure hose. Squeeze the trigger of the discharge gun to drain all water from the wand and hose 2. Restart the pressure washer and let it run briefly (about 5 seconds) until water no longer discharges from the high pressure outlet. UNIT STORAGE When the pressure washer is not being operated or is being stored more than one month, it is recommended that you turn off and disconnect the power supply and rotate the motor by hand several times so as to avoid excessive current draw on the motor and power supply. Store in dry conditions, free from excessive moisture or damp. Use the supplied storage for hoses and accessories to avoid risk of damage. 12
