Important Safety Instructions Read the entire instructions manual before use. Read and follow all instructions. Do not bury cord. Connect to a grounded, grounding type receptacle only. If the ozone generators electrical connection is to be attached to the pool controls, be sure the pool controls are protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (G.F.C.I). If the ozone generator is connected to a stand-alone electrical supply, then a G.F.C.I. must be installed between the ozone generator and the electrical supply. Mount the ozone generator so that it is inaccessible to anyone in the pool. Install at least 5 feet from the tub water using nonmetallic plumbing. Never attempt any servicing while wet. For your safety, do not store or use gasoline, chemicals or other flammable liquids or vapors near this, or any other, appliance. Warning: If another appliance is not going to be plugged into the back of The Ozone Otter ozone generators power cord, be sure to place a wall outlet safety cover into the open plug on the back of the power cord. To reduce the risk of electrical shock replace a damaged cord immediately. Electric shock hazard, be sure to turn power OFF and disconnect from power source before any service work is performed. Failure to do so could result in serious injury or death. Short-term inhalation of high levels of ozone and long term inhalation of low levels of ozone can cause serious harmful physiological effects. Do not inhale ozone gas produced by this device. 4G. Troubleshooting Improper servicing will void the warranty. 1. Symptom: No Flow A. Injector is not supplying adequate suction. B. Check that pump skimmer and filter are clean. C. Check that The Ozone Otter is plumbed in the correct direction. D. Ensure that there is no debris clogged inside the injector. 2. Symptom : Ozone tubing becomes yellow and brittle. A. The high concentration of ozone created by the ozone generator sunlight will tend to deteriorate the tubing. This is normal as long as the tubing does not crack or leak. Due to this situation we recommend that you replace your tubing and check valve assembly each year. Fig. 4 Save these instructions. Note: As with all alternate sanitizing systems, it will not replace the chlorine residual you need to retain in your system to ensure the health of your swimmers.

Venturi Injector WARNING: Trace amounts of nitric acid may be present in the check valves or tubing and could be mildly corrosive. Once the cover has been removed from The Ozone Otter, if condensation is present, shut off the ozone generator and allow the moisture to be drawn out or dried up prior to servicing.
Plumbing The Ozone Otter Bypass Manifold Option 3: Installation on Flex Tubing The instructions below describe The Ozone Otter installation after all other pool equipment. Note: The Ozone Otter needs to be installed after all other equipment or possible failure may occur. Please see figure 4 on page for a flow diagram. 1. You will need: a. an additional section of Flex Tubing. You can purchase this from your local pool equipment supplier. b. PVC cement 2. You will need to build your manifold using the enclosed pieces. Wrap Teflon tape on all male pipe threads - be sure to apply the tape in the direction of the threads. Follow the diagram below to connect your pieces. Ensure that the flow arrow on The Ozone Otter is pointed in the direction of water flow. 3. Disconnect the pools return hose from the existing pool equipment. Keep the hose elevated to avoid draining the pool. 4. Connect your purchased piece of flex hose to the existing pool equipment. Connect the open end of the flex tubing to the reducing hose barb pieces on the bypass manifold. 5. Reconnect the pools return hose to the reducing hose barb pieces on the bypass manifold. 6. If there no leaks follow these instructions: make sure the ball valve is open at start-up. When the pool equipment is turned back on close the ball valve until you see bubbles coming out of The Ozone Otter. Fig. 3 here Section 3 Installation 3A. Location: Mount generator in-line with your other pool equipment. Install The Ozone Otter ozone generator after all other pool equipment. Locate generator out of reach of sprinklers or drainage spouts. Allow sufficient access for maintenance and all tubing and electrical wires. Risk of electric shock: Install at least 5 feet from the inside wall of the tub of pool using nonmetallic plumbing. Connect this ozone generator in accordance with the installation instructions. 3B. Electrical: Main Power The Ozone Otter comes equipped with a power cord that allows the pump to be plugged into the top, if needed. The circuit must be protected by a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) and installed in accordance to the electrical code. (Pump current must not exceed 10A). Plug must be protected from moisture. If another appliance is not going to be plugged into the back of The Ozone Otter ozone generators power cord, be sure to place a wall outlet safety cover into the open plug on the back of the power cord. Follow all applicable electrical codes. All electrical connections should be made by a professional electrician. 3C. Plumbing : Ozone gas is introduced to the pool circulation line using the built-in venturi injector. Suction developed by the venturi allows The Ozone Otter ozone generator to operate safely under vacuum. Note: The Ozone Otter needs to be installed after all other equipment or possible failure may occur.
Plumbing The Ozone Otter Option 1: Installation without bypass manifold for smaller pools. The instructions below describe injector installation after the filter. For pools equipped with a heater and/or salt-system, The Ozone Otter must be installed after this equipment. Please see figure 4 on page for a flow diagram. 1. Turn off your pool equipment and disconnect the power. 2. You will need approximately 6 feet of 1 ID flexible PVC tubing. You may need more or less depending the distance from your pool equipment to the pool. 3. Disconnect the pools return hose from the filter. Keep the hose elevated to avoid draining the pool. 4. Replace your existing flexible tubing with the flexible PVC tubing you have purchased. 5. Cut off approximately 1 foot of tubing and attach this to your pool filter. Connect the open end of the tubing to the hose barbs coming out of The Ozone Otter. Ensure that the flow arrow on The Ozone Otter is pointed in the direction of water flow. 6. Connect the remaining tubing to the other end of The Ozone Otter. Disconnect the existing flexible tubing from your pool. Connect the open end of the 1 flexible PVC tubing to your pool. 7. Plug The Ozone Otter into the electrical outlet where the filter/pump was plugged in. Plug the filter/pump into the back of The Ozone Otter plug receptacle. Turn your pool equipment back on and check for leaks in the system. If there are leaks turn off the equipment and disconnect the power before attempting to repair the leaks. 8. If there are no leaks, you should see ozone bubbles in the tubing and entering the pool. Fig. 1 here Plumbing The Ozone Otter Bypass Manifold Option 2: Installation on 1-1/2 Rigid Tubing (If your pool is equipped with 1-1/4 rigid tubing contact Aqua Sun Ozone to purchase the appropriate adapter.)
