1 Description and key features 1.1 Description The STE98-800 is a hot water shrink tunnel designed for use with the full range of Cryovac shrink bags. It has a wide range of application and is used as the final component of many Cryovac packaging systems. The machine consists of a conveyor which transports the packages through a hot water curtain enclosed in a tunnel. Water temperature is regulated by an electronic control unit to ensure that a consistent shrink and pack appearance is obtained. All functions are automatic and the machine does not require operator intervention except for switching on and off. Two versions of the machine are available; with heating by means of electric immersion elements or by a loop steam coil. Extensive use of insulation is used to minimise the external surface temperature and prevent excessive heat loss. Construction is simple and robust. All critical parts are treated against the corrosive environment often found in food production and packaging rooms.
