Remote Booster Power Supplies XLS-BPS6, XLS-BPS60, XLS-BPS6C, XLS-BPS0, XLS-BPS00, XLS-BPS0C FEATURES SPECIFICATION DATA Extends power available to Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs). Available in 0A and 6.5A versions. Includes four independent A NACs two configurable as auxiliary outputs. Configurable signal rates. Field selectable input-to-output correlation. Two inputs allow activation by Signature Series modules or existing NACs. NACs can be configured for four Class B or two Class A circuits. 0 Vac and 0 Vac versions. On-board status LEDs for easy recognition of wiring faults. APPLICATION The Remote Booster Power Supply is a self-contained 4 Vdc power supply designed to augment fire alarm audible and visual power requirements. The booster contains all of the necessary circuits to monitor and charge batteries, control and supervise four Class B or two Class A Notification Appliance Circuits (NAC) and monitor two controlling inputs from external sources. Simple switch selection provides a wide variety of operational configurations. Each remote booster power supply is supplied with its own enclosure providing ample space for additional interface modules and a battery compartment. The Remote Booster Power Supply is available in 6.5A or 0A versions at 4 Vdc. The Remote Booster Power Supply provides additional power for audible and visual devices when constrained by system capacity or site application. Fault conditions detected by the XLS-BPS open the NAC of the main panel. This initiates a trouble condition and eliminates the need to wire a separate trouble contact back to the control panel. During alarm conditions, detected faults are overridden. The XLS-BPS default output configuration is continuous 4 Vdc on all NACs. This output is typically used to drive visual devices. XLS-BPS notification appliance circuits easily configure to any one of the three signaling rates: 0 strokes per minute (spm), -- temporal, or continuous. This makes the XLS-BPS ideal for applications requiring signaling rates not available from the main panel. It also allows independent setup of a NAC without interfering with the main panel and its initiating circuits. In addition to the three generated signal rates, the XLS-BPS can also be configured to follow the signal rate of the main panel NAC. This allows seamless expansion of existing NACs. The XLS-BPS includes seven on-board LED indications: one for each resident NAC, one for battery supervision, one for ground fault and one for ac power. The trouble contact has a 6-second delay when an ac power failure or brownout condition is detected. This reduces trouble reports during short ac brownouts. Configuration options include: ac power fail delay (6-seconds or 6 hours), sensing input to NAC output correlations and auxiliary outputs. NAC and 4 are configurable as auxiliary outputs. Auxiliary outputs can be continuously on, or turn off after 0-seconds without ac power. Jumpers configure the XLS-BPS for Class A or B wiring. REMOTE SUPPLIES SPECIFICATIONS (0) Models: The Honeywell XLS-BPS Series Booster Power Supplies extend NACs as a stand-alone booster power supply. See the Ordering Information section for available models. The power supply requires standby batteries (not provided) for 4 or 60 hours of standby followed by 5 or 0 minutes of alarm and can support up to 0A hour batteries. The booster supply also requires four independent supervised NACs. NACs can be configured to follow the NAC input from the main panel or activate from Intelligent Signature Series modules. The booster NACs may be configured for independent operation at a continuous rate, at 0 SPM, or at -- temporal. Booster fault conditions will not impede alarm activation of NAC host circuits. -/ (89) -/8 (86) 7 (4) TOP VIEW (0) 7 (78) FRONT VIEW ALL KNOCKS FOR /4 (9) CONDUIT -/ (89) Electrical Ratings: AC Line Voltage: 6.5A Booster: 0 Vac or 0 to 40 Vac, 50/60 Hz, 50W. 0A Booster: 0 Vac or 0 to 40 Vac, 50/60 Hz, 75W. M45 Single boosters can be placed anywhere on a notification appliance circuit. Because existing NAC end-of-line resistors are not required to be installed at booster terminals, multiple boosters can be driven from a single NAC circuit without the need for special configurations. See Fig. through 6 for typical wiring applications. IMPORTANT Do not attempt to wire the booster from these diagrams. For installation instructions, refer to form no.
