The DECT6000 handset can be used like a standard telephone, with full functionality including external dialing, address book and all analog PABX functions (e.g. call transfer). The system uses DECT, one of the best digital cordless telephone technologies available. It offers high speech intelligibility, important when critical details have to be communicated. The DECT6000 exchange can be linked to any type of PABX. A single system can have up to 128 DECT6000 handsets. DECT6000 can be integrated easily into existing Bosch DP6000 on-site paging infrastructures, which keeps cost of ownership to a minimum. Call management determines the priority and urgency of messages, and ensures that no call goes unanswered or gets lost. Paging and telephony Combining on-site paging and digital cordless telephony creates a high-integrity communications system with extremely advanced messaging capabilities. Paging calls can still be received during telephone conversations. The user can choose which calls to receive (paging, telephone, both or neither), an important feature when privacy is required. The message server always receives automatic confirmation when a call has been received. Manual confirmation can also be requested for more important calls. For extra discreteness, incoming telephone calls or paging calls can be indicated by means of a vibrator.
The DECT6000 handset can be used like a standard telephone, or as a fully-featured alphanumeric pager. DECT6000 handsets naturally incorporate the excellent paging functionality you would expect from one of the world s foremost on-site paging companies. Alphanumeric messages of up to 48 characters can be generated and sent to individuals or groups of up to 50 users. An automatic conversion facility redirects messages when there is no response. Recipients can also redirect calls, to a single user or groups of users. A large, illuminated display gives more information about the call, and is better legible at night or in poorly-lit areas. Different priorities and different bleep patterns (up to 14) can be used to identify different call types. As an example, an assistance call has a higher priority than a normal call, and an emergency call has higher priority than both. Data such as process parameters can be received and stored in a separate mailbox, then retrieved at any location within the premises. The mailbox is separate from the normal message stack, allowing more information to be stored. IP 52 is standard, and ATEX versions are available for use in more demanding industrial environments. An on-screen menu makes function selection quick and easy. The handsets are light, compact yet robust, and offer several wearing options. The internal antennae help make them discrete and less susceptible to damage.
Personal Security An optional personal security function gives reassurance to lone workers or personnel operating in potentially dangerous environments (e.g. industrial complexes, psychiatric institutions, prisons, deserted premises at night). Personal Security gives functions like automatic scanning, guardtour and location detection with graphical location display.

Location detection Location detection includes a unique facility for pinpointing exactly where an alarm has been generated. DECT6000 Personal Security functionality can be integrated easily into existing PS6000 Personal Security systems. Simple implementation One of the main strengths of DECT6000 is its simple implementation. You can easily add DECT6000 functionality to an existing (DP6000) paging system. The two systems then function as a single, integrated communications infrastructure, and any mix of DECT6000 and paging handsets is possible.
