IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Before the appliance is used, it must be properly positioned and installed as per the instruction in the Installation section. To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury, follow basic precautions including the following: 1. Read all instructions before using the appliance. 2. Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet, DO NOT remove grounding prong, DO NOT use an adapter, and DO NOT use an extension cord. 3. DO NOT place any other household appliances on top of the unit. 4. It is recommended that a separate circuit, serving only your appliance be provided. Use receptacles that cannot be turned off by a switch or pull chain. 5. Never clean appliance parts with flammable fluids. DO NOT store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance. The fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion. 6. Failure to unplug the appliance during cleaning or light bulb replacement could result in electrical shock or personal injury. 7. DO NOT connect or disconnect the plug when your hands are wet. 8. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. DO NOT repair or replace any part of the refrigerator. Return appliance to SWG Canada for examination, repair or adjustment. See Warranty section. 9. To ensure proper ventilation for your appliance, the front of the unit must be completely unobstructed. Choose a well-ventilated area with temperatures above 55 0 F (13 0 C) and below 90 0 F (32 0 C). 10. The appliance should not be located next to ovens, grills or other sources of high heat. 11. If you will not be using the refrigerator for an extended period, unplug it and open the door. Wipe any condensation off after the inside reaches room temperature. 12. It is important for the appliance to be leveled to work properly. 13. Never allow children to operate, play with or crawl inside the unit. 14. DO NOT use solvent-based cleaning agents of abrasives on the interior. These cleaners may damage or discolor the interior. 15. DO NOT use outdoors. 2

16. DO NOT use this appliance for other than its intended use. 17. CAUTION: Risk of child entrapment: Before disposing take off the doors. Leave the shelves so children may not easily climb inside. Never allow children to operate, play with or crawl inside the Wine Cellar. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY GROUNDED PLUG To reduce the risk of electric shock this appliance has a grounded plug (2 blades and 1 pin). If the plug does not fit fully into the electrical outlet contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT modify the plug in any way or use an adaptor. BEFORE FIRST USE 1. Remove the exterior and interior packing. 2. Check to be sure you have all of the following parts: Chrome Shelves Door handle Screws 3. To avoid shipping damage, the door handle of this unit is shipped unassembled. Before using Wine Cellar, please assemble door as follows: - Locate door handle and 2 screws attached inside the cabinet and prepare appropriate screwdriver. - With the 2 screws, fasten the door handle onto the frame of the door panel (See Ill. 1). Be sure that the screws point to the holes on the frame of the door panel when doing so. Ill. 1 3

4. Before connecting the appliance to the power source, let it stand upright for approximately 2 hours. This will reduce the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system from handling during transportation. 5. Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water using a soft cloth. INSTALLATION 1. The unit is designed to be free standing only it should not be recessed or built-in. 2. To ensure that your Wine Cellar works at the maximum efficiency, follow the recommended clearances below: - sides 2 (5 cm) - top 2 (5 cm) - back 3 (7.5 cm) 3. Place the Wine Cellar on a flat level surface that is strong enough to support it when fully loaded. DO NOT place the unit in direct sunlight and sources of heat (stove, heater, radiator, etc.). 4. DO NOT place next to any appliance that emits large amounts of heat, such as a dishwasher, microwave, oven, toaster, etc. or in direct sunlight. Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical consumption. 5. Extreme cold ambient temperatures may also cause the appliance not to perform properly. 6. Adjust the leveling legs so that the front is 1/8 (3mm) higher than the back to help with door closure. Adjust the leveling legs at the front by turning clockwise to raise and counterclockwise to lower. 7. Gently slide the racks into the unit. 4

HOW TO USE As with any refrigeration product, there is a slight temperature difference within the cellar cabinet. In this Wine Cellar, the lower shelves provide a slightly cooler temperature than the upper shelves. When storing both red and white wines, it is best to store the white wine on the lower shelves where the temperature is slightly cooler. Preset Temperature Selection Press the RED or WHITE buttons to choose a preset temperature for Red or White Wine. The programmed temperature for red or white wine will be displayed for a few seconds. The cellar will revert back to the actual internal temperature of the cellar and will work towards the preset temperature. Temperature Selection The temperature of the cellar is controlled by the temperature up ( ) and temperature down ( ) pads. The temperature can be set anywhere between 4 C to 18 C (39 F to 64 F) as follows: NOTE: to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit press and hold the up arrow ( ) for 2 seconds. Press the SET button until you hear a "beep" sound (approximately 2 seconds). Press the pads or to increase or decrease the preferred temperature in increments of one degree. Press SET to confirm your choice - if confirmation is not made within 10 seconds the cellar will confirm your choice automatically. To turn the Wine Cellar on/off - Press and hold the WHITE button for approximately 2 seconds. NOTE: When the Wine Cellar is set to "off", the unit is no longer cooling but is still with power. 5

HELPFUL HINTS After plugging in the Wine Cellar and making your temperature selection, allow the Wine Cellar to reach the set temperature before loading your wine. This process may take up to 12 hours to completely stabilize. After loading your wine, you may notice an increase in the temperature. Allow enough time for the temperature to return back to your set temperature setting. This may take up to 12 hours to completely stabilize. The interior temperature during Normal Operation is displayed in degrees Celsius. The status of the refrigeration cycle is indicated by the * indicator light as follows: - Remains ON during the refrigeration cycle - Remains OFF during the idle cycle Interior Light You can turn the light ON or OFF by pushing the light button located on the right side of the control panel housing. If the interior light is left on, the temperature will be higher. CARE AND CLEANING Replacing Light Bulb 1. Unplug the Wine Cellar. 2. The light bulb is located behind the light shield in the ceiling of the Wine Cellar towards the front. 3. To remove the light shield, remove the screw with the appropriate screw driver. Gently pull down on the bottom of the light shield to release it. 4. Unscrew the light bulb from the socket and properly dispose of it. 5. Replace with a 10 watt, 120 volt refrigerator bulb. This type of bulb is available at most hardware and automotive parts stores. WARNING: Using a bulb rated higher than 10 watts may cause damage to the Wine Cellar. 6

6. Attach the light shield to the bulb housing with screw. 7. Plug the Wine Cellar back in and set to the desired temperature. Defrosting the Wine Cellar 1. Once defrosting is complete, set the cellar to the desired temperature. Cleaning 1. Unplug the appliance. CAUTION: Failure to unplug the appliance could result in electric shock or personal injury. 2. Remove shelves. 3. Wash the inside surfaces with a warm water and baking soda solution. The solution should be about 2 tbsp. (30 ml) of baking soda to a quart (litre) of water. 4. Wash the shelves with a mild detergent solution. 5. The outside of the appliance should be cleaned with mild detergent and warm water. 6. Wring excess water out of the sponge or cloth before cleaning the area of the controls, or any electrical parts. 7. Wash the outside cabinet with warm water and mild liquid detergent. Rinse well and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth. 8. The vinyl door gasket may be cleaned with mild soap and water or a baking soda solution. Rinse well. 7

Power Failure Most power failures are corrected within a few hours and should not affect the temperature of your appliance if you minimize the number of times the door is opened. A gradual rise in temperature should not have any adverse effect on the wine. When power is restored the control will automatically revert to the previous setting. IMPORTANT NOTE: If the unit is unplugged, has lost power, or is turned off; you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, damage may occur and or the appliance may not start. Vacations Short vacations: Leave the appliance operating during vacations of less than three weeks. Long vacations: Remove all items and unplug the power cord. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. To prevent odor and mold growth, leave the door open slightly: blocking it open if necessary. Moving your Wine Cellar Remove all contents and loose items. Turn the leveling screw up to the base to avoid damage. Tape the doors shut. Be sure the appliance stays secure in the upright position during transportation. Also protect the outside of appliance with a blanket, or similar item. 8
