Source: City of Dallas, Downtown Dallas 360, 2011 Downtown Dallas 360 Plan 360 is an action-oriented implementation plan crafted to build on this momentum and create a premier urban experience in Downtown Dallas. 6

The framework of the Downtown Dallas 360 Plan includes three overarching goals, each of which are applicable to Dallas Love Field and its neighboring development. The goals will be accomplished with the network of downtown districts through the power of five transformative strategies. Focus areas within the districts have been identified to prioritize physical, economic and other improvements, in order to synergize public and private development opportunities and achieved coordinated success over time. The Transformative Strategies of Downtown Dallas 360 provide a planning framework that could also be applied in planning development in and around Dallas Love Field. Improve aesthetics around airport. Shield incompatible uses. Make movement through airport environment and surrounding neighborhoods legible and easy. Development uses human scale where possible to encourage active transportation modes (walking and biking). Incorporate surrounding businesses and develops partnerships and physical linkages. Restaurants/bars/venues can be used by both residents, airport passengers, and employees. Office space (airport related and non-airport related) benefit from airport proximity and a local workforce. Fosters public-private partnerships that encourage economic growth. Transit connections. Airport passengers have easy access to airport by transit. Airport serves as transit hub for those moving between city neighborhoods and regional destinations. Use of available non-developed space for recreation. Use airport open space (when possible) for operational needs and recreation. Jogging trails, bike lanes, observation points, parks, recreational facilities. Airport as arrival gateway to the city makes favorable first impression. Sustainable development must be considered in all aspects of airport projects. Through pedestrian-oriented environments, public infrastructure improvements, new development and a network of recreational trails, the Good Neighbor Plan will promote long-term economic and social growth in and around Love Field.
