Product Information Titon In-Line Fans are designed to extract humid & stale air and expel it to the exterior. They are also suitable for extracting air from one room and expelling it to another room. The fan unit is usually fitted in the ceiling void, well away from the inlet. This In-Line feature allows the inlet grille to be mounted in wet areas (eg near the splash zones of bathrooms) or even above a shower. As the unit is in the ceiling cavity (away from the inlet grille), noise from the fan is minimized Product Features Three speed Low, Medium & High. Overun timer, 3-30 minutes. Component Identification Terminal Box Gromet INLET Fixing Holes Impellor Fixing The units are designed as in-line duct fans to be fitted between two duct runs. 1. Choose a suitable mounting location for the inlet grille. Ensure there is adequate clearance for the ducting. 2. Choose a suitable location for the extract grille ensuring there is adequate clearance for the ducting. 3. Choose a suitable mounting location for the fan unit. Ensure that a power outlet is installed near the intended location of the unit. 4. The fan unit must be positioned at the highest point on the system so the ducting will slope downwards to both grilles. 5. The airlfow direction is marked on the rating label. 6. Do not cover the fan unit with thermal insulation. Keep at least 100mm clearance between the unit and any thermal insulation. 7. Mount the unit to a support using suitable fixings through the four fixing holes. 8
8. The unit should be positioned so that the power cord is pointing downwards. 9. Orientation of the junction box can be adjusted to suit the fan units location 10. Unscrew and open the clamps. 11. Rotate the motor unit to the desired position. 12. Replace the clamps and tighten the screws. 13. The duct must not be installed vertically into a roof terminal - the product is not designed or intended for this type of installation. Ducting 1. Titon recommend using rigid ducting, any flexible ducting used should be fully extended. 2. All ducting joints must be fixed using a method that ensures a long term seal is achieved. 9
