Summary This apartment is warm and welcoming!you will find a well stocked kitchen to make cooking a breeze, a very large living room, and some seriously cozy queen beds Description Our space feels like home because it used to be my family's home! We put a lot of time and effort into this place and feel very proud of it. The space is perfect for a large family and as a base for the rest of your Anchorage adventures! If you have any issues while here I am very easy to contact and will always respond promptly. We do live off-property but my whole family takes part in running this business, so someone will always be around to assist you or answer questions. The apartment is in a fourplex so there is a common entryway but other than that the apartment is all yours. There is a large backyard that is shared, so feel free to go down and enjoy it! Everyone else staying in the building is also a vacation rental guest so feel free to mingle, but respect each other's privacy as well. If you have any issues with other guests, please let me know personally so I can investigate the situation. It is very helpful if you rent or have a car if you are staying in Anchorage. Everything in Anchorage is only 15 minutes away by car. We are about 3 miles from the nearest shopping center, restaurants, and shops. We are 7 miles from downtown and 5 miles from the airport. From the Airport: The taxi fare to get to the apartment is $20 from the airport. The airport is located 5 miles from our apartment. From the airport, head west on International Airport Road for 3 miles and then turn right (heading south) onto Minnesota Drive/Walter J. Hickel Parkway. Take the exit named "Strawberry" 1.5 miles later. Turn left onto Mayfair Drive 0.5 miles later. The apartment will be on the left side of the road. Renting a car: Anchorage is a big city and renting a car is by far the easiest way to get around. Taxis are also readily available, but expensive. Uber and other ride sharing companies are not allowed to operate in Anchorage at the time. Renting a car can be done easily at the airport. There is a large paring lot which you can park in if you decide to rent a car. Public Transportation: The general rates for our buses are $2 per trip or $5 for a day pass. It is pretty inefficient but doable if you want to. The nearest bus stop to the apartment is at the Northwood and Strawberry post office about a 5 minute walk away. The bus number 7 stops there. You can take this bus to the Dimond Transit Center in about 10 minutes which will connect you to almost all of the other buses which run around town. If you head the other direction towards downtown, it will take a 40 minute bus ride to get to the downtown transit center. This bus can also take you to and from the airport in 10-15 minutes. Mutual respect for all tenants staying in this building is our primary concern. Please review the following: Quiet hours are between 10 pm and 7am. Please refrain from excessive noise in the common areas. Please refrain from excessive noise in your apartment at all times, we take noise complaints very seriously. Please also note that the washer and dryer should not be used during quiet hours. Under any circumstances, smoking is never allowed in the building. Smoking will only be allowed on the front porch, the parking lot, and the back decks. Make sure all debris is entirely extinguished and disposed of in the dumpster or into your own trash can. We try to leave extra supplies and some small items in the pantry for your convenience. We do take note of these items and ask that you only take a reasonable amount. Please make sure nothing leaves with you. The washer and dryer is open for your use and the use of the other tenants. Please change your laundry in a timely fashion, do not leave wet laundry in machine overnight, and know that we are not responsible for your belongings.
Inform us immediately in the event of any maintenance issues including water leaks. If you use the barbeque(subject to availability and if there is a burn ban) in the back yard, make sure the coals are completely extinguished before you go to bed.
