Crawford County Agriculture News June 8, 2018 A NOTE FROM YOUR AGENT This first week of 4-H summer program has really made me notice how much phone tag I will be playing with everyone these next two months. I will always be available by email albeit a little slow. If you call the office, most likely I will have to call you back after 5. I apologize for the inconvenience. My appointment in Crawford County is 60% 4-H Youth Development and 40% Agriculture and Natural Resources. USDA REPORTINGS Southern Region - Georgia March Crop Progress and Condition Narrative released on June 4, 2018 http://www.nass.usda.gov/statistics_by_state/georgia/publications/crop_progress_and_co ndition/around the county Greenway Farms on-farm market Location: 6744 Hwy 80 West Time: Saturday, June 9 th from 9am-2pm We'll have our beef, pork, chicken, eggs, pickles, jams, jellies, tomato sauces, goats milk soaps and lotions available. We'll also have corn, okra, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, and Vidalia onions. We're located about 6.5 miles west of Roberta. Joining the Greenway Farm this week is Crosscut Farm of Crawford County! This is an awesome deal and a great way to support two amazing producers right here in our county!

To be sold, all chicken eggs must be evaluated by a certified grader and appropriately packaged and labeled in accordance with the Georgia Egg Law and Georgia Food Act. Become a certified egg candler with this course hosted by Crawford County Extension and the Georgia Department of Agriculture. You must register in advance to attend. We have to make sure that there will be at least 10 in the course. We ll hear from farmers, tour local farms and even a research facility in Tifton. Bring your supplies and we ll have some too - we can practice or build our fair projects!
