Page 2 of 8 GENERAL INFORMATION After the unpacking of a MTP / MPO product there is a 100% visual controll of the connector necessary. If there is a containment remove it accordingly to this cleaning guide. Do as follows: 1. Visual control of the ferrule surface, pin, and pin hole. 2. Inspection of the fiber endface with the correct microscope. 3. Only clean contaminated areas if really necessary. Preventive cleaning is not recommended. 4. Always reinspect connector after cleaning. 5. Connect only clean connectors.

Page 6 of 8 CLEANING GUIDE: GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Only clean if necessary. 2. Only use wet cleaning if dry cleaning is not sufficent or connector is really dirty. 3. After wet cleaning always use dry cleaning. 4. After dry cleaining always inpect again.
