The Country Fair at Rosemark Home and Garden Exposition will include special exhibits and activities. A National Garden Club Horticulture Specialty Flower Show hosted by the Garden Club of Rosemark will be center-stage in Memorial Hall. Fair attendees are encouraged to enjoy all the activities in Memorial Hall. Home Grown II: A Patchwork of Country Gardening This will be a judged Horticulture Specialty Flower Show open to the public. Residents of the north Shelby and south Tipton area are invited to participate by bringing horticulture specimens to Memorial Hall of Richland ARP Church, 8658 Rosemark Road in the Rosemark community. The Flower Show will be open for viewing from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 29. Following are guidelines for entering the Flower Show. 1. All horticulture entries are to be brought to Memorial Hall on Friday, September 28 from 2:00-7:00 pm. Pre-registration is not required for horticulture entries EXCEPT for Section G - Collections. Contact Beth Phillips at 901.494.1671 for pre-registration of collections. Deadline for preregistration is September 22. 2. Judging will begin promptly at 8:15 am on Saturday, September 29, 2018. 3. Pre-registration is required for Botanical Arts Photography and Educational Exhibits. All Botanical Arts Photography and Educational Exhibits entries are to be brought to Memorial Hall on Friday, September 28 from 2:00 pm -7:00 pm. Contact Louelen Dearen at 901.317.0392 to indicate intention of entering photographs and/or educational exhitibs. Deadline for pre-registration is September 22. 4. All fresh plant material entered should be well groomed, insect free, and show-worthy. No artificial plant materials allowed. Plants on the Tennessee Endangered or Threatened Plant list and/or noxious plants are prohibited. 5. Specimen entries are to be displayed in clear glass containers, such as bud vase or narrow-neck bottle. Cut specimens should not have any foliage below the water lines (gladioli are the exception). Exhibitors may bring their own clear glass containers for specimen display(s), except where noted. The Flower Show Committee will provide containers for noted sections. Garden Club members will assist exhibitors with wedging (clear plastic wrap) which will be provided. 6. Horticulture books of reference used for classification will be available for exhibitors use prior to judging. 7. Entry identification tags for all Sections and Classes will be supplied on arrival at Memorial Hall. Tags must be completed and attached to entry. Garden Club members will assist with identification tags, and they will place the entries in the exhibition area. Exception: Collections entries may be placed by exhibitor. 8. Every effort will be made to protect and care for exhibited items. Security will be provided in the display area while the exhibition is open. 9. Entries must be removed at the close of the exhibition on Saturday, September 29. 2

10. First, Second, Third, and Honorable Mention Ribbons will be awarded in each class. Section Awards will be presented as well as Award of Horticulture Excellence and Botanic Arts Photography Award. 11. More than one entry per class or subclass may be made by an exhibitor, provided each is of a different genus, specific epithet (species), variety/cultivar, type, size or color. The Classification Committee may subdivide classes by cultivar, type and/or color. 12. All cut specimens will be single stem, no longer than 30 in length. Specimens must be related, such as all one (1) plant family [Rosaceae, Pinaceae], one genus [Hosta], similar characteristics [Bromeliads, ferns, orchids, shade foliage, flowering annuals, vegetables, petite], etc. Collections are to be displayed in containers provided by the exhibitor and placed on an underlay (either 18 x13 rectangular mat or 15 diameter circle mat) provided by the Flower Show Committee. Stems should not exceed 30 in length. Botanical names must be listed on an index card with a location chart or individual place cards to identify each specimen s location in the collection. Division II Botanical Arts - Photography Eligible for the Botanical Arts Photography Award We Preserve the Beauty All photography exhibits must relate to horticulture, gardening or landscape design. Photo image size must not exceed 5 x 7 and must not be matted or framed. Exhibits will be displayed at eye level on black display boards provided by the Flower Show Committee. Professional printing is permitted. Exhibitors are encouraged to identify photographed plant material, preferably with current scientific designation, on the entry tag. Exhibitor may make 2 entries in each class. Pre-registration required by calling Louelen Dearen at 901.317.0392 to indicate intention of entering photographs. Deadline for pre-registration is September 22. Section A. and Section B. eligible for the Botanical Arts Photography Award. Exhibitor is on his/her honor that the photographs being entered have not been previously entered in the 2017 Flower Show in Rosemark. Section A. Adult Photography Saving it on Paper Class 1.
