IRRIGATION EQUIPMENT LTD. GRAVITY SCREEN FILTER SERIES 188 APPLICATIONS Gravity Flow Irrigation Systems Used as a Primary Filter for water from open reservoirs and recycled water. Pre-Filtration for media filters, for reducing backwash frequency. Most effective for filtration of water heavily contaminated with algae and organic matter. Industrial: for filtering large volumes of dirt for water recycling or to meet environmental water discharge standards. Used in process water and cooling towers. ODIS Filtration is The Heart of Every Irrigation System
DESCRIPTION Series 188 gravity screen filters are a continuous self-cleaning gravity filters. This gravity filter is especially designed to deal with high load of suspended solids. The filtering method is based on gravity flow through a stainless steel screen. The filter is designed to continuously remove dirt from screen during filtration process without interruption to filtered water supply. The efficient self cleaning process combines rotating cleaning jets assembly which blows away the dirt from the screen and the raw water flow that sweeps the dirt from the screen surface to the dirt collection cell. OPERATING PRINCIPLE Series 188 Raw water enters the filter through the inlet port (1) and is spread in the perimeteric canal (). The water flows over the perimeteric canal partition and falls down on the horizontal screen (). The raw water is filtered by means of gravity through the stainless steel screen and flows out through the outlet port () to the consumer. The dirt that is stopped on the screen () is flushed by the raw water into dirt collecting chamber through the dirt collector pipe. The dirt that accumulates in the dirt collecting chamber is flushed out through flushing valve (). The dirt collecting chamber is equipped with manual brushes assembly (8) for manual cleaning of the dirt that is stuck to the collecting chamber side wall. A water jet system () is installed under the screen. The jet system is operated by external water pressure source (7). The water jet system is equipped with heavy duty bearing which ensures continuous smooth long standing operation. During the self-cleaning operation the water jet system rotates and sprays water under pressure upwards all over the screen blows away the dirt from the screen. The combined flow of the water from the water jets, and the horizontal flow of the raw water that flows from the perimetric canal partition (), sweeps the dirt to the dirt collecting chamber. 1 7 0/09 01/11

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Operation n The Gravity Filter is equipped with water jets system for cleaning the screen. n The dirt that is accumulated in the dirt collecting chamber is automatically disposed through a drain valve according to interval that is determined by the operator on the flushing controller. n Water Jet System min. pressure: 1 bar (1 psi) n Water Jet System min. flow rate: 1 m /h (. g.p.m) Installation n For best results the filter must be installed on a leveled concrete base. n It is recommended to install inlet isolation valve for easy maintenance. n Ensure that the filter is mounted in the proper direction of flow as indicated by the arrows on the filter housing. n Connect water supply to the water jets cleaning system. n At least a 0 mm drain pipe should be attached to the flushing valve. The draining pipe should be as short as possible. n Connect the controller power supply. Maintenance n The filter is maintenance free n Replace battery of DC controller as required PACKING / SHIPPING DATA Metric Units / U.S. Units Model 1888 1880 Inlet / Outlet (inch) 8 Gross * Weight Gross Volume Packaging (kg) (lbs) (m³) (cu.ft) 0 00 99 110 Packed on a pallet Packed on a pallet.8.0 1 177 0/09
