4 IMPORTANT: KNOW YOUR WATER PRESSURE. Before installing your showers and tapware it is important to know what water pressure your home has. New building regulations require mains pressure to be limited to 500kPa maximum static pressure at any outlet within a building Australian Standard AS/NZ , clause All Methven products are designed in accordance with this regulation. Households which do not meet the requirements defined by AS/NZS can damage the product and void warranty. While most Methven products are designed to operate on mains pressure installations, select products are able to operate at low or all pressures. 1. HOW DO I CHECK MY WATER PRESSURE? Pressure Limited Valve To meet the requirements as per AS/NZ buildings should have a Pressure Limiting Valve (PLV) installed. These valves are usually accessible and installed near the water meter or water supply to the building. Contact Your Plumber If you are unsure if your water supply is properly limited. It s always safest to contact your plumber to check. 2. LOOK FOR THE ICON THAT CORRESPONDS TO YOUR PRESSURE: The operating pressure on each product is clearly labelled using the following icons: Mains Pressure. Operates on mains pressure installations between 150kPa 500kPa. All pressure. Operates on all pressure installations between 35kPa 500kPa. 2

The date of manufacture is marked on the valve, represented by a five digit number. The first two digits of the date of manufacture refer to the last two digits of the year of manufacture. The remaining three digits refer to the numerical day of the year in which the valve was manufactured (for example, 30 June 2007 would be represented as 07181). Methven will (at its cost) replace any NEFA valve to the original purchaser if it is purchased with less than 12 months remaining of the 5 year expiration period from manufacture date (as per coded stamp on each product). Proof of purchase must be provided for the replacement to be authorised to the original purchaser only.
