2 Thank you for choosing this Goldair Food Processor. This Goldair appliance has been designed and manufactured to the highest of standards and with proper use and care, as described in this leaflet, it will give you years of useful service. Please read these instructions carefully. GENERAL CARE AND SAFETY GUIDE Please read all instructions carefully before using this appliance and keep them for future reference. Always ensure hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the Food Processor. Always use the Food Processor on a secure, dry, level surface. Always disconnect the Food Processor from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning. Carry out regular checks of the supply cord to ensure no damage is evident. Take care when handling the sharp cutting blades while emptying the bowl and during cleaning. Never use this food processor outdoors. Never use this food processor for any purpose other than its intended use. This food processor is for household use only. This food processor is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been given instruction concerning the use of the Food Processor by a person responsible for their safety. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is near children. Never place this food processor on or near a hot gas or electric burner or where it could touch a heated oven or microwave oven. Never use harsh, abrasive or caustic cleaners to clean this appliance. The Food Processor is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system. Attempt to remove the bottom cover of the food processor. There are no serviceable parts inside. Any repairs should be carried out by an authorised electrical technician. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

3 Components BEFORE FIRST USE Before using the food processor, wash all parts except the Base in hot, soapy water, rinse dry. These parts also be placed in the dishwasher on the top race. Do not put in or near the utensil basket. CAUTION: Blades are sharp, handle carefully. CAUTION: Never place food processor s motor/base in water or other liquids. NOTE: Do not attempt to chop ice in this food processor; it will damage the bowl and dull the chopping blade. This unit will not whip cream. Beat egg whites to a desirable volume, grind coffee beans, spices or other items with high oil content, or slice or shred hard-cooked eggs, marshmallows, or soft cheeses. IMPROTANT: For your protection, this unit has an interlock system, The processor will not operate unless the bowl is properly locked onto base and cover is properly locked onto the bowl, bowl lid, and food chute lid correctly in place

4 ASSEMBLY Make sure the control knob is in the OFF position and the power cord is unplugged Be sure food processor base is on a flat, dry, clean, stable surface before you begin processing To assemble, put the bowl on the base by placing the bowl handle at the 5 o clock position on the base(see Fig.2). Turn the bowl clockwise until it clicks into place. The bowl handle should now face straight to the center front. NOTE: There is only one correct position for the bowl to lock onto the base. The unit will not operate if the bowl does not lock onto the base On the bowl cover is the food chute, which serves as a housing for the food pusher. Place the bowl cover onto the bowl, with the food chute at the 5 o clock position(see Fig.2a) and turn the bowl cover clockwise until the food chute is facing the front, positioned directly over the bowl s handle. Bowl cover should click into place. NOTE: There is only one position for the bowl cover to lock onto bowl. The unit will not operate if the bowl cover does not lock onto the bowl. CONTROLS When the processor id plugged in, the green light would not illuminate until the control knob is rotate to ON position. PULSE: When the control knob is turned counterclockwise to PULSE and held, the green LED light comes on and the food processor operates (see Fid.3). As soon as you let go of the knob, the processor shuts off and the knob returns the OFF position, Use PULSE for short processing tasks, such as raw meats or vegetables. This allows you much greater control of the consistency of what you are processing. ON: When the control knob is turned clockwise to ON, the unit will run continuously ( see Fig.3a). This is good for less tender food and items that take a while longer to process. When you have finished processing, turn the control knob to OFF (see Fig.3b)

5 CHOPPING Lock he bowl onto the base as described in assembly Place the chopping blade onto the center post (see Fig.4) CAUTION: Blades are sharp, handle carefully. Place food to be chopped into bowl, refer to food guide to prepare food for chopping Lock bowl cover assembly onto bowl. As described in assembly The food processor should be in the OFF position. Plug the cord into an electric outlet. Turn the knob to ON to run constantly, or for better control over consistency, turn and hold knob on PULSE. When finished processing: If pulsing, release control knob and unit automatically stops If you turned processor to ON, turn control knob to OFF to stop Allow the chopping blade to stop rotating NOTE: Before opening the bowl cover, turn the unit OFF and unplug the cord. To remove bowl cover, unlock by turning counterclockwise until cover unlatches, and lift off. Lift the chopping blade by its base and remove, unlock the bowl by turning it counterclockwise, and lift off. Empty the processed food. WARNING: Chopping blade is very sharp, use caution when handling. TO SLICE OR SHIRED CAUTION: Make sure control knob id turned to OFF and unit is unplugged before use. Never use your hand to push food into processor. The use of heavy pressure will not speed operation. Lock the bowl onto the base as described in assembly. Slide the disc stem down onto the center post of the base, then place the slice/shred disc. With the desired side facing up for either slicing or shredding, onto the disc stem and push down. At this point the disc will be at the top of the bowl.

6 WARNING: Slicing/Shredding Disc is very sharp. Use caution when handing Lock the bowl cover onto the bowl, remove the food pusher and leave in the open position. Fill the food chute with pieces of food such as potato, cabbage, green pepper, tomato, etc. Plug the power cord into electric outlet turn control knob to ON. The green LED would illuminate to indicate the processor is working. Then press down lightly but firmly on food pusher to feed items down and onto slice/shred disc. When the chute is empty, turn control knob to OFF, unplug, allow the disc to stop rotating, and remove the food pusher. To process more food, place food into the food chute and repeat above steps. When finished, rotate to OFF, unplug, allow the disc to stop rotating. CAUTION: Before opening the bowl cover, be sure you have turned the unit OFF and unplugged the cord. Open bowl cover by turning counterclockwise, and remove disc with disc stem. WARNING: Slicing/Shredding disc is very sharp. Use caution when handling. Unlock bowl by turning counterclockwise and lift bowl off. Empty the processed food. CORD WRAP For your convenience, this food processor has a cord wrap on the underside of the base to wrap the cord around while storing processor.

7 CHOPPING GUIDE FOOD AMOUNT DIRECTIONS BABY FOOD Up to 2 cups(500ml) Add up to 2 cups(500ml) cooked vegetables and/or meat to bowl, along with 1/8 cup(30ml) liquid per cup of solid food. Process continuously to desired fineness. CRANBEARIES, MINCED 2 cups(500ml) Pulse to chop to desired fineness. Can also add sugar to make cranberry relish. EGGS, CHOPPED Up to 6 cups Peel, fry and halve hard-cooked eggs. Add to bowl. Pulse to chop, Checking fineness after 4-5pulses. GARLIC, MINCED Up to 6 cups Be sure bowl is dry. Drop clove(s)down food chute while unit is running. MEAT, CHOPPED (RAW OR COOKED) Up to 2 cups() Cut the meat into 1*() cubes. Add to bowl and pulse to chop. MUSHROOMS,CHOPPED Up to 6 medium Halve large ones and add to bowl. Pulse to desired fineness. ONIONS, CHOPPED Up to 2 large Quarter, and add to bowl. Pulse 1 or 2 times to coarsely chop. For green onions, up to 2 cups(500nl) out into 1*() pieces. PARMESAN OR ROMANO CHEESE, GRATED Up to 1 cups(250ml) Allow cheese to reach room temperature. Cut into 1*() cubes. Add to bowl and pulse to coarse chop; process continuously to finely grate. PARSLEY. CHOPPED Up to 2 cups(500ml) Add to bowl and pulse to chop to desired fineness, abort seconds process other herbs in same manner(basil, cilantro, mint). PEPPER, GREEN, RED, YELLOW CHOPPED SQUASH(BUTTERNUT). PUMPKIN OR SWEET POTATOES PUREED Up to 1 pepper Up to 2 cups(500ml) 1*() cubes Cut into 1*() cubes pieces, Add to bowl and pulse to chop. Add 1/8 cup(30ml) of cooking liquid per cup of food. Pulse to finely chop them process continuously to puree. STRAWBERRIES, PUREED 1 cups(250ml) Hull and halve large berries. Add to bowl and pulse to chop. Process continuously to puree. TOMATOES, CHOPPED 2 medium Quarter tomatoes. Add up to 2 and pulse to desired size. SHREDDING GUIDE FOOD DIRECTIONS CABBAGE CARROTS Use shredding disc for very fine cabbage or slaw. Cut into pieces to fit chute, Shred using light pressure. Empty bowl as cabbage reaches disc. Position in chute and shred. CHEESE, CHEDDAR POTATOES Cheese must be well chilled, Cut to fit chute. Cut to fit chute. Cut to fit chute ZUCCHINI Cut to fit chute, either lengthwise or horizontally.

8 SLICING GUIDE FOOD APPLE CABBAGE/LETTUCE CARROTS CELERY CUCUMBER MUSHROOMS ONIONS PEPPERS, GREEN, RED, YELLOW ETC. DIRECTIONS Halve and stack horizontally in chute. Use firm pressure. Halve head, Cut to fit chute Cut to fit chute Remove string. Pack chute for best results. Cut to fit chute Stack chute with mushrooms on their sides for lengthwise slices. Halve and dill chute, positioning onions upright for coarsely chopped results. Halve and seed. Fit pepper up bottom of chute, squeezing slightly to fir if necessary. Cut large ones into quarters or strips. Depending on desired results. Slice using moderate pressure. POTATOES STRAWBERRIES TOMATOES Peel if desired. Position in chute, cutting large potatoes in halves.. Arrange berries on their sides for lengthwise slices. Use small tomatoes for whole slices, halve if necessary. Use gentle, but firm pressure. TURNIPS ZUCCHINI Peel. Cut turnips to fit chute. Slide off ends. Use smell squash for whole slices; halve larger ones to fit chute.

9 CARE AND CLEANING NOTE: Do not attempt to sharpen the cutting edges of the chopping blade or the reversible disc. They are permanently sharpened tat the factory and will be ruined by attempted sharpening. Before cleaning, turn the control knob to OFF and unplug the cord to food processor Whenever possible, rinse parts immediately after processing for easy cleanup Wipe the base, control knob, and feet with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly, stubborn spots can be removed by rubbing with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Do not immerse the base in liquid. All removable parts can be washed by hand or in a dishwasher in the top rack. Do not put in or near the utensil basket. If washing removable parts by hand, wash in hot, sudsy water, fines and dry thoroughly If necessary use a small nylon bristle brush to thoroughly clean the bowl and bowl cover. This type of brush will also help prevent cutting yourself on the chopping blade and slicing/shredding disc. Do not use rough scouring pads or cleansers on any plastic or metal parts. Do not fill the bowl with boiling water or place any of the parts in boiling water Some food, such as carrots, may temporarily stain the bowl. To remove stains, make a paste of 2 tablespoons baking soda and 1 tablespoon warm water. Apply the paste to the stains and rub with a cloth. Rinse and day. Four rubber feet on the underside keep the base from moving on most work surfaces when the machine is processing heavy loads. If the feet leave spots on the counter, spray them with a spot remover and wipe with a damp sponge. If any trace of the spot remains, repeat the procedure and wipe the area with a damp sponge and nonabrasive cleaning powder. IMPORTANT: Never store any blade or disc on the motor shaft. No blade of disc should be placed on the shaft except when the processor is about to be used. 10 TWO YEAR WARRANTY Your Goldair product has been inspected and tested and is guaranteed subject to the following for a period to two years from the date of purchase against defects in workmanship and materials. During this period, such defects will be rectified by repair or replacement of the product purchased. Your product contains no user serviceable components and this warranty becomes invalid if in our opinion the product has been misused, abused, incorrectly installed, tampered with, connected to an electrical supply not corresponding with the name plate specification, or subjected to power surges. The warranty does not include any labour or other associated expense that may be involved in removal or installation of the product. Normal wear and tear is expressly excluded. If your Goldair product fails to operate satisfactorily, please return it to the retailer from whom it was purchased. To obtain a repair or replacement product under this warranty, you will need to produce satisfactory evidence of date of purchase. The completed warranty and purchase receipt must be presented with the product. The warranty should be filled out at the time of purchase. It is in your interest to make sure this is done. If the product is to be replaced (cannot be repaired) then that replacement will be of the same or similar product or accessory excluding packaging, instruction card etc. Where a replacement product is supplied, this shall be guaranteed for the balance of the original warranty period. Any model that is no longer available will be replaced by a model of a value and with such features as we consider appropriate in the circumstances. Goldair Ltd is not responsible for freight forwarding charges, losses or damage in transit. If service is required after the warranty period has expired, the product should be returned to a qualified electrical technician. Service outside of the warranty period will be at your cost. Consumers Guarantee Act (1993). In accordance with the above act consumers are advised that: The manufacturer does not undertake that repair facilities and parts are necessarily available for this product. If any of the provisions of the foregoing are contrary to any relevant legislation, then that provision shall be deemed to be excluded from the warranty and the rest of the provisions will continue to apply.
