Refrigeration units Highly productive refrigeration units are the reliable base for extensive cooling concepts. beta.z With the beta.z multi-zone temperature control unit for sheet-fed offset printing, technotrans offers a solution that ensures perfect results in waterless and conventional offset printing, even under the most difficult conditions. beta.f A compact fine filtration unit which continuously and efficiently operates in bypass to the dampening solution circulator. Its two-step filtration method permanently keeps the dampening solution cycle free of contamination from the circulator all the way to the dampening solution trays at the print units.

3 beta.d module Dampening solution circulation In the early nineties, technotrans was the first to offer dampening solution circulation in a compact vertical cabinet. Over the years, and as part of a constant process, demands changed. technotrans leads the way in developing the solutions demanded by new generations. The beta.d module is available as an air-cooled (ill.) or water/ glycol-cooled unit. the tank additive containers refrigeration units sophisticated details As a matter of principle, the tank is located centrally in the cabinet. This leads to improved ergonomics and easier access for servicing. The electrical switchboard, additive containers and dampening solution tank are integrated within the unit to ensure easy accessibility. Inside the air-cooled cabinets, the compact refrigeration unit with compressor/ evaporator is located underneath the tank whilst the condenser has an upfacing air exhaust. An intermediate dampening solution tank including pre-filter functionality, ensures a constant return flow with reduced foaming. Additive containers are integrated into the cabinet, eliminating the risk of spillage or accident. The refrigeration unit for water/glycol-cooled cabinets is also located underneath the dampening solution tank. The cabinet can easily be connected to an external cooling system. Pivoting connectors allow great flexibility during installation. The filter bag efficiently cleans the tank: softflow up to 300% larger filter area compared to normal filter mats.

Offering six performance levels, the beta.c module can be adapted to meet the needs of any size printing press. Our combination unit has been the long-established standard for the leading manufacturers of medium to large-format sheet-fed offset printing presses. The beta.c combination unit is available as an air-cooled (ill.) or water/glycol-cooled version. based on the beta.d module extensive product range usability and control The combination unit offers the same features as the beta.d: easy access to the tank, integrated additive containers, pivoting connectors, and the intermediate dampening solution tank with pre-filter functionality. As a part of our extensive beta.c range, versions with 2 circuits for separate control of ink duct rollers and distributor rollers are available. The 5.7 multicom colour touch screen offers a complete overview of all unit functions in normal operating mode. The integrated trend-indicator keeps a close watch on relevant process data. An online helpdesk for operation, maintenance and service, complete the user-friendliness of this improved control module. As well as saving space with the water/ glycol-cooled version, the air-cooled version can be located up to 30 metres from the refrigeration unit. beta.c also comes with an interface to directly connect to the control console of the printing press and can optionally be accessed for remote maintenance.

Conductivity and ph measurement Inductive ph measurement with an accuracy of +/- 50 µs takes place within a range of µs. The calibra - tion-free conductivity probe requires minimal maintenance. This is indispensable for high level waterless and conventional printing especially under difficult conditions, such as IPA-reduced or IPA-free printing and when using spot colors. In a standard configuration, the module is equipped with a feed pump, a temperature control valve and an electrical heating unit for each temperature control circuit. The beta.z can also be operated as a stand-alone unit. In this version the unit is equipped with a heat exchanger set to connect to an external cooling water supply. In other applications, or if other requirements have to be met, the system can also be used to control the feed flow temperature. If required, the press speed can be used as an additional control variable, allowing an even more precise temperature management. The entire system is designed as an atmospherically closed system incorporating a pressure expansion vessel and a pressure relief valve, offering maximum protection against corrosion and algae growth. 9 beta.f module Fine filtration unit decades of experience two-step filtration drastically reduced operating costs The beta.f fine filtration unit has been developed, based upon years of experience in dampening solution circulation for sheet-fed offset presses. It operates continuously and efficiently in bypass connection to the dampening solution tank of the circulator. The compact beta.f cabinet unit relies on a two-step filtration method. The prefilter system with its filter cartridges is used to thoroughly pre-clean the dampening solution and to relieve the strain on the main filter module. The main filter is used for intensive cleaning of the dampening solution using a powerful deep-bed filter. The quality of the filter modules is perpetually monitored by integrated pressure sensors.
