4.5 Manager functions In order to maintain the value and hygiene of your coffee machine, it should be cleaned carefully according to the following instructions: a) Cleaning intervals The cleaning program must be carried out at least 1x per day normally before or after business and especially before longer periods of inactivity (e.g. weekends). Interim cleaning with the cleaning program is necessary after no more than 12 hours of operation (i.e. clean at least 2 x per 24 hours). Manual cleaning is also necessary: daily: mixer unit / storage urn weekly: instant powder container / ground coffee container monthly: funnel drawer / feed screw for instant container when necessary: machine housing, rough sieve in the water supply pipe. Warning! During cleaning, ensure that the machine is: never immersed in water never doused with water never sprayed down with a water hose. Do not spray the installation area, e.g. with a water pipe or high-pressure cleaner. There can be a danger of electrocution if water enters the machine and makes contacts with elements carrying electricity. Before carrying out any manual cleaning, first pull out the mains plug and let the machine cool down. This avoids the danger of automatically touching hot or moving parts during cleaning. b) Automatic reminder The machine can be set to remind you automatically at two different times to run the cleaning program (see Manager functions ) The automatic cleaning program is activated if: one of these cleaning times is exceeded and the machine has been in operation at least 1 hour since the last cleaning and also at least one product has been dispensed. the Cleaning (1) and Ready to dispense symbols are shown alternately in the display. Only 50 products can then still be dispensed until the start of the cleaning program. c) Before the start of the cleaning program: First insert the spray protection plate (2), as illustrated. Tip: When your electronic goods no longer function, or are no longer safe, take them to the collection point provided for recyclable electronic wast 25
5. Installation 5.1 Requirements In order to ensure safe and trouble-free operation of this machine, the following requirements must be fulfilled: a) Requirements for the water supply: The water supply (1) must be easy to turn off at any time during operation (stop valve). The water pressure must be at least 2.0 bar (at3 liters/min. dyn.) and must not exceed 6 bar (please consider any day/night pressure fluctuations). Should the pressure exceed 6 bar, a pressure reducing valve must be inserted between the machine and the main stop valve. The carbonate hardness of the water must be between dkh. In the case of hardness levels: > 3 dkh, a stabilizer (Everpure water filter) should be inserted before the machine. > 6 dkh, a decarburization unit (Brita water filter) is absolutely necessary. < 1 dkh, the manufacturer must be contacted (soft water). Any water filters inserted before the machine must be checked for effectiveness and replaced every 12 months. A fine strainer (4) is always required. b) Requirements for the water outlet: The machine must be connected to a fixed water outlet with stench trap (5). The water outlet connection must be protected from backflow and flooding (6), in order to prevent the machine from being soiled by returning waste water. c) Requirements for the electrical connection The distribution voltage must conform with the data indicated on the type plate. The mains lead must be fuse-protected separately by the client using a residual current operated device (max. 30 ma). The connection must be made by means of a plug socket not firmly installed to the mains. The plug socket must be easily accessible during operation so that the plug can be quickly removed in the case of malfunctions. 26
e) Requirements for the place of installation The machine may only be installed and used in closed, dry rooms not outdoors! Humidity and temperature can have a detrimental effect on the functioning and safety of the machine. There must be at least an additional 10 cm of space behind the machine (9) to allow heat to escape. A clearing of 31 cm is required above the machine in order to open the lid. If the machine is not operated by trained personnel, it should be installed in places where it can be permanently supervised by trained personnel. 27
5.2 Installation and connections The machine must be installed, connected and put into operation by qualified persons only Should you want to change the place of installation at a later date, please contact our Technical Service staff. In this way you can ensure that the machine is correctly installed and will operate safely. a) Use with water canister If the machine is not to be firmly connected to a fresh water supply and waste water outlet system, it can be operated with the aid of two canisters. In this case, however, it is essential that our Technical Service staff install a backflow valve at the fresh water connection socket. Fasten the fast-action connector of the freshwater pipe onto the lid of the fresh-water canister (1). Fasten the fast-action connector of the wastewater pipe onto the lid of the waste-water canister (2). You can unfasten this connection by simply pulling back the ring on the fast-action connector. When using canisters: Empty the fresh-water canister daily! Do not leave any remaining water in the canister germs can breed quickly even in fresh water. When using canisters, please also remember to observe the limits for water hardness! If necessary, the fresh-water canister should be filled via a (Brita) water filter. Clean the fresh-water canister and its lid with a non-smelling cleaning agent before each filling this prevents any canister aroma from developing. Do not forget to thoroughly rinse off any remaining cleaning agent. Empty and clean the waste-water container daily. The waste water contains organic substances which can produce smells if left for several days in the canister. The waste-water canister can be cleaned with any normal cleaning agent. 28
b) Coffee grounds ejection into container (optional) The coffee grounds can be ejected via a special chute into a container, rather than into the standard drawer. This optional extra can be installed by our Technical Service team. c) Installation on cabinets (optional) The machine can also be placed on cabinets, such as the cup Center 1, cup Center 2 and cup Solitaire. Please refer to our Technical Service team. For reasons of safety, the cup Solitaire must be secured to the floor or wall in order to guarantee stable operation. Alternatively, we can supply a stainless steel base plate on which it can be screwed. The necessary fixtures and instructions are provided for each solution. d) Adjusting the machine s feet The machine must be stable and free of vibration. If this is not the case adjust the four machine feet (1) by screwing them in a downward direction. Secure each foot bytightening the respective nuts. 5.3 Staring operation Initial operation is started by our Technical Service staff. Should you wish to start the machine yourself after a longer period of inactivity: First insert the spray protection plate (2), as illustrated. This prevents users from being scalded by hot water, which can be ejected during the heating phase. Turn the water tap on first carry out manual cleaning as described in section Cleaning - the mixer unit - the instant powder container - the ground coffee container - the storage urn. Then, set up the machine and start heating When this is complete, start the fully automatic cleaning program, as described in section Cleaning Only then is the machine ready to start dispensing products. 29
