4 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS. WARNING: Extreme care should be taken when stripping paint. The peelings, residue and vapors of paint may contain lead, which is poisonous. Any pre-1977 paint may contain lead and paint applied to homes prior to 1950 is likely to contain lead. Once deposited on surfaces, hand to mouth contact can result in the ingestion of lead. Exposures to even low levels of lead can cause irreversible brain and nervous system damage; young and unborn children are particularly vulnerable. Before beginning any paint removal process you should determine whether the paint you are removing contains lead. This can be done by your local health department or by a professional who uses a paint analyzer to check the lead content of the paint to be removed. LEAD BASED PAINT SHOULD ONLY BE REMOVED BY A PROFESSIONAL AND SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED USING A HEAT GUN. 5 Persons removing paint should always follow these guidelines: Move the work piece outdoors. If this is not possible, keep the work area well ventilated. Open the windows and put an exhaust fan in one of them. Be sure the fan is moving the air from inside to outside. Remove or cover any carpets, rugs, furniture, cooking utensils, and air ducts. 3. Place drop cloths in the work area to catch any paint chips or peelings. Wear protective clothing such as extra work shirts, overalls and hats. Work in one room at a time. Furnishings should be removed or placed in the center of the room and covered. Work areas should be sealed off from the rest of the dwelling by sealing doorways with drop cloths. Children, pregnant women or potentially pregnant women and nursing mothers should not be present in the work area until the work is done and all clean up is complete. Wear a dust respirator mask or a dual filter (dust and fume) respirator mask which has been approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the National Institute of Safety and Health (NIOSH), or the United States Bureau of Mines. These masks and replaceable filters are readily available at major hardware stores. Be sure the mask fits. Beards and facial hair may keep masks from sealing properly. Change filters often. DISPOSABLE PAPER MASKS ARE NOT ADEQUATE. Use caution when operating the heat gun. Keep the heat gun moving as excessive heat will generate fumes which can be inhaled by the operator

Keep food and drink out of the work area. Wash hands, arms and face and rinse mouth before eating or drinking. Do not smoke or chew gum or tobacco in the work area. Clean up all removed paint and dust by wet mopping the floors. Use a wet cloth to clean all walls, sills and any other surface where paint or dust is clinging. DO NOT SWEEP, DRY DUST OR VACUUM. Use a high phosphate detergent or trisodium phosphate (TSP) to wash and mop areas. At the end of each work session put the paint chips and debris in a double plastic bag, close it with tape or twist ties, and dispose of properly. Remove protective clothing and work shoes in the work area to avoid carrying dust into the rest of the dwelling. Wash work clothes separately. Wipe shoes off with a wet rag that is then washed with the work clothes. Wash hair and body thoroughly with soap and water. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS 6. Additional Safety Instructions IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEAT GUNS Hidden areas such as behind walls, ceilings, floors, soffit boards and other panels may contain flammable materials that could be ignited by the heat gun when working in these locations. The ignition of these materials may not be readily apparent and could result in property damage and injury to persons. When working in these locations, keep the heat gun moving in a back-and-forth motion. Lingering or pausing in one spot could ignite the panel or the material behind it. Allow the tool to cool before storing. Do not lay the heat gun on flammable surfaces when operating the gun or immediately after shutting it off. Always set the gun on a flat level surface so that the nozzle tip is pointed upward. Always use good quality scrapers and stripping knives. Never obstruct the air intake or nozzle outlet. Be sure to direct the hot air blast in a safe direction; away from other people or flammable objects. Keep fingers away from metal nozzle; it becomes very hot. Don t touch the nozzle to any surface while running or shortly after running. 9. Avoid poking anything down inside the nozzle. Know your work environment. Remember that areas behind soffit board, ceilings, and floors may contain highly flammable materials. Check these areas before applying heat. Clean dry paint from the nozzle after use; it could ignite. Clean your scraper blade frequently during use; it could ignite. Do not use the heat gun in combination with chemical strippers. Do not use accessory nozzles as scrapers. Keep nozzle away from cord. Do not use to cook or warm food

The label on your tool include following symbols. V...volts A...amperes Hz...hertz W...watts min...minutes...alternating current...direct current no...no load speed...class II Construction...earthing terminal...safety alert symbol.../min...revolutions or reciprocations per minute 7. USE OF EXTENSION CORDS Make sure the extension cord is in good condition before using. Always use the proper size extension cords with the tool that is, proper wire size for various lengths of cord and heavy enough to carry the current the tool will draw. Use of an undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. For proper size cords see chart below. Total 120V Ampere Rating More Than Not more Than Minimum Gage for Cord Sets Volts Length of Cord in Feet (0-7,6m) (7,6-15,2m) (15,2-30,4m) (30,4-45,7m) American Wire Gage Not Recommended 8 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Always observe the safety instructions and applicable regulations. Use only one hand to hold the tool, do not place your other hand over the air vents Prior to operation : Mount the correct accessory for the application. Set the desired air temperature. 8.1 Switching on and off To switch the tool on, set the on/off switch to position I / II / III. Some smoke may be emitted after switching on; this does not indicate a problem

To switch the tool off, adjust the lowest temperature to cool off, then set the on/off switch to position 0. Let the tool cool down before moving or storing it. 8.2 Temperature setting. Turn ON/OFF switch to I/ II / III, depending on temperature you need. The heat gun will start to buzz. Now you can increase or decrease the outlet temperature gradually by turning the adjust knob. Turn anti-clock wise to decrease, clock wise to increase the temperature. More LED lights turn on when temperature increases. 8.3 Stripping paint Mount an appropriate accessory. Set a high air temperature. Switch the tool on. Direct the hot air onto the paint to be removed. When the paint softens, scrape the paint away using a hand scraper. Do not strip metal window frames, as the heat may be conducted onto the glass and crack it. When stripping other window frames, use the glass protection nozzle. Do not keep the tool directed at one spot too long to prevent igniting the surface. Avoid collecting paint on the scraper accessory, as it may ignite. If necessary, carefully remove paint debris from the scraper accessory using a knife. 8.4 Stationary use This tool can also be used in stationary mode. Place the tool onto the workbench. Secure the cable to prevent pulling the tool off the workbench. Carefully switch the tool on. Make sure that the nozzle always points away from you and any bystanders. Make sure not to drop anything into the nozzie

8.5 cooling down The nozzle and accessory become very hot during use. Let them cool down before attempting to move or store the tool. To reduce the cooling time, switch the tool on at the lowest air temperature setting and let run for a few minutes. Switch the tool off and let it cool down for at least 30 minutes. 9 Maintenance And Cleaning Attention! Before performing any work on the equipment, pull the power plug. 9.1 Maintenance Your Power Tool has been de signed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning. 9.1 Lubrication Your power tool requires no additional lubrication. 9.3 Cleaning Keep the ventilation slots clear and regularly clean the housing with a soft cloth. 9.4 Cleaning Keep the ventilation slots of the machine clean to prevent overheating of the engine. Regularly clean the machine housing with a soft cloth, preferably after each use. Keep the ventilation slots free from dust and dirt. If the dirt does not come off use a soft cloth moistened with soapy water.
