4 SPORT Entry Level Wash System The SPORT is for customers that look for a technological, efficient, affordable and modern product - a product that perfectly corresponds to the consumer s ever-demanding requests. It serves the client that wants technology in a car wash, but simplicity in functionality, along with a modern design that distinguishes itself among the others, yet is affordable at the same time. Careful choices of materials and on-going research to find new production technologies make for a high tech level of equipment at a well-balanced cost-quality ratio. The care given in making the final product is supported by an efficient commercial organization. Highly qualified technicians and salespeople with the necessary tools and state-of-the-art communication resources make for a reliable support team for the customer. Even after thousands of washes, a modern car wash should remain like it was on the first day. RYKO Italia, with the new SPORT wash, has created new parameters in the concept of quality. The technical solutions The gantry structure, made in just three main pieces, lends a higher level of rigidity to movements by means of its folded rectangular wide-girth steel legs. Modern laser cutting techniques used in the SPORT s gantry construction guarantee accuracy for fitting assemblies. This makes for minimal additional cutting to the main frame. All nuts and bolts are stainless steel, with a high grade of endurance in order to avoid deformation of the threads when tightly torqued. The equipment s internal structure is hot dipped galvanized steel, ensuring many years without problems of oxidation holes; RYKO Italia guarantees this for seven years.

5 A great leap forward: Standard sealed bearings offer longevity. Even the shafts and rotary buckles are made of stainless steel for long life, reinforced with a high grade of surface finish that keeps it usable, even if scraped or nicked. The top brush and top dryer suspension systems use polyurethane, indented tooth belts; this represents a reliable alternative to conventional chain systems, supplying the highest power performance while maintaining constant tension during the entire drive movement of the belt. Better yet, there is no need for greasing, meaning less maintenance time and cost. There are stainless steel reinforced traction cables in the internal body of the polyurethane chain, making for solid dimensional stability without need for constant adjustments. The technical solutions Automatic Car Wash When considering the car wash brushes in relation to today s needs in the automotive market, it was necessary to develop projects and solutions to properly measure the varied sizes and shapes in the vehicle population. Smoothness and delicacy combined with a high level of security are necessary to guarantee the optimum wash for all types of vehicles throughout the world. The SPORT is made with a sophisticated graded control system that precisely regulates the pressure of the brushes against the vehicle. A powerful 12 bit microprocessor monitors and memorizes the brush motors current absorption, supervising all the control functions throughout four motor regulation levels. (SENCO 5 PLUS)

Rails 3 Program PLC Bull Bar and Tow Hoop Safeties Electrical Schematic Users and Maintenance Manuals Principal Characteristics Vertical Brushes: The vertical brushes are mounted on two independent tracks with two special independent 45 profile guides. Each guide is moved via a pneumatic cylinder commanded by a sophisticated electronic fourlevel motor current sensor, SENCO 5 PLUS, which tells the brushes to close or open to conform to the vehicle s surface. All wheels have stainless steels bolts and utilize technopolymer bearings. No need for greasing! OPTIONAL ELECTRIC TROLLEY Two independent trolleys sliding in two special profile 45 guides. Every trolley is moved by its own gear motor which is controlled, upon opening and closing, by a sophisticated electronic device with four action levels: SENCO 5 PLUS. The brush traverse assembly allows, via a timing belt, to displace the brushes, COUPLED, from right to left passing through the center of the front and rear side of cars during washing (double brushing). All brush wheels have stainless steel pivots and use sliding bearings made of technopolymer. No lubrication is needed.

7 Top Brush: The top brush runs on two internal guides, located in the machine s frame columns, and incorporates two supports to prevent the brush from free falling. Suspended by polyurethane and steel reinforced belts, the brush raises and lowers by means of an air cylinder with valves that regulate the velocity at which the brush raises and lowers. The brush s pressure against the vehicle s surface is also regulated on four different motor current levels via the SENCO 5 PLUS. Optional Top Dryer: The optional top dryer is a hot-dipped steel encasement mounted horizontally and suspended from polyurethane and steel reinforced belts. The dryer follows the horizontal contour of the vehicle, using three photocell sensors, which communicate relative information about the vehicle s surface to the PLC of the machine, which, in turn, controls the air cylinders, telling them when to raise and lower according to the vehicle s surface. A secondary micro switch security ring prevents the dryer from descending, should there be a failure in the automatic system or an abnormal object on the vehicle. Optional Vertical Dryers: The optional vertical dryers, made of hot-dipped galvanized steel, are incorporated into two outlets inside the vertical plenums of the car wash. Two turbine fans power the dryers. The length of the outlet is the same for remains the same for the models, and varies for the model 280.

8 Drive Motors and Wheels: The drive motors are composed of long-life cast iron mechanical motor reducers, while the large diameter wheels are coupled directly with the hub, making for the most reliable use of time. The wheels are made of highly resistant steel. Their large diameter assures that the car wash moves at a high velocity, and also makes them last longer. The idler wheels utilize sealed bearings that are extremely reliable, stronger, and more resistant to the strain of continuous rotary movement. The rotation shafts are made of stainless steel. Rails: The rails have a special profile and considerable thickness for long life. The support plate is separated at some sections, to permit the wash water to drain to the drainage point at the center of the wash bay. Security latches under the two legs of the car wash prevent the machine from tipping.

9 Standard Cycle with Dryer Option First Pass: The machine leaves the home position in the bay with the brushes and shampoo running and starts to wash the vehicle. The top brush starts to descend and meet the top front of the vehicle. Meanwhile, the vertical brushes make contact with the front of the car, separating, then coming together again at the back of the vehicle. The machine now pauses briefly at this point in the wash. Once at the back of the vehicle and the top brush has descended to its maximum point, the machine goes to the far point of the rails and closes the vertical brushes again. Once closed, the machine is ready to reverse directions. Second Pass: After a few seconds, the machine will reverse directions and spin the brushes in the opposite direction of the initial pass, rewashing the vehicle while heading back to the home position. The wax application will run during this pass. The cycle ends when the machine reaches its home position and all the brushes have reached their maximum position away from the vehicle. 10 Third Pass: Once home and the brushes stopped, compressed air will blow through the wash nozzles to eliminate drip back on the vehicle. The top dryer descends to its lowest point, and the machine begins to drive toward the vehicle. At the same time, the photocells let the top dryer know to lift to meet the front of the vehicle and continue to adjust and dry the top surface of the vehicle while the machine drives forward. The top dryer will descend to its low point again, once it is finished drying the back of the vehicle. A safety ring connected to the top dryer outlet makes sure that the dryer nozzle rises to avoid any object that is out of line with the contour of the vehicle. Fourth Pass: The machine now changes direction and heads toward home position, drying the vehicle in the same manner as the first dry pass.

11 Main Optional Accessories The Sport can be accessorized with various options to improve the customer s overall experience with the wash. VFD for 6 Programs: Increase the number of programs from the standard 3 to 6 with the VFD option. Vertical Dryers: The vertical side dryers consist of two vertical outlets fed by a series of two x 4 kw motor fans. The fans are installed in the internal frame of the machine, mounted on a vibration resistant support. Wheel Wash: The wheel wash consists of two disc brushes that extend to wash the wheels when the tire is detected. The wheel wash support mechanism is extended and retracted via an air cylinder. During the wash cycle, the wheel wash disc will stop and reverse spin direction. The wheel wash extension height can be adjusted. The wheel wash will both extend and lower toward the bay floor, in order to wash smaller diameter wheels.

12 Foam Bath: Once positioned and the program selected, the machine leaves the home position and covers the vehicle with a foaming shampoo, using a dosing pump to bring the product to the nozzles of the car wash. High Pressure: The high-pressure option is made up of four rotary nozzles installed on the interior lateral sides of the car wash gantry. They are positioned to be able to effectively wash the door and rocker panel section of the vehicle. They are fed by a 42-liter/minute pump at 72 bar. SMS Telephone Connectivity: This option is interfaced to the auto-diagnostic system, so that if there is a machine shut down, it can immediately alert the manager via an SMS message. In this way, it is possible to know and pinpoint the problem in real time and, from there, decide when it is necessary to intervene. Coin and Token Activation is a system of automatic payment specifically suitable for selfservice car washes in smaller dimensions. The system can operate up to ten different programs, activated automatically by entering the necessary amount of payment for the chosen wash.

13 Simply Start Activation: This is an automatic payment system specifically suited for self-serve car wash sites. The system allows for the activation of up to four different wash programs and can also dispense tokens for auxiliary services and options such as mat washer and vacuum. At the end of the transaction, it is possible to request a receipt or print out a note, should the car wash be inoperable. Moreover, it is capable of accepting electronic keys as payment, even giving the user the ability to recharge the key at a self-service car wash. Accessory and Option List

The above mentioned possibility must be bound to a certain distance, approximately 20 m. between civilian houses and the wash bays if no full fencing or dividing walls of at a least 4 m. of height are present. Lesser distances require installation of phonabsorbant barriers. Note that the phonometric acquisitions shown in the tables above there obtained in a external area with a background noise brought by daytime traffic of 66.2dB(A). The installation of this equipment in another context may almost certainly affect the Leq values previously quoted in excess or shortage according to condition at the installation location. When using the equipment in external areas, every user should keep within maximum noise exposure limits fixed by regional regulation or specific EC standard according to zones and the kind of areas quoted in Table A of the a.m. decree.
