Every cabinet has 2 reversible doors, allowing you to choose the one to match your colour scheme at initial construction. Stylish flush doors have push release opening. Cabinet colour options are: Light Oak/Mocha and Black/Silver The Vicenza 180 and 260 are powered by a Fluval External Filter. The filter hoses connect directly through the aquarium base in an innovative feature which means less clutter and less mess. Without any bulky external connections the whole unit can fit flush to the wall. All aquariums are made of glass and are manufactured under strict conditions to ensure quality, strength and durability. Fluval Vicenza aquariums must only be used with the equivalent Fluval Vicenza cabinets. Vicenza canopies house a powerful GLO T5 high output lighting system, easily controlled with the integrated light timer The canopy is finished in black and comes with a choice of light oak or silver trim to co-ordinate with the cabinet colour of your choice. Output Nozzle & Intake Strainer The Output Nozzle delivers a continuous flow of filtered water, creating surface agitation that helps keep solids in suspension until they can be filtered. Fluval Multi-Stage Advanced Filtration System Fluval s multi-stage filtration system utilizes the entire canister volume for radically increased contact time that optimizes filtration efficiency. 14 Tronic Heaters Revolutionary Submersible Electronic Heaters use patented Thermal Sensor technology and advanced circuitry to deliver precise, consistent heat. High Output Lamps Specially designed aquarium lighting PATENTED THERMAL SENSOR Fluval Tronic Heaters possess a unique temperature sensor that functions as precisely as an outside probe. The Thermal Sensor samples the actual water temperature directly through the glass of the heater tube rather than the air temperature within the tube, as is the case with standard bi-metallic strip thermostats. Since the Thermal Sensor actually reads the true water temperature, it is more accurate than any other heater with an internal thermostat. PRECISE ELECTRONIC CONTROL Fluval Tronic works continuously until it achieves the pre-designated temperature. It uses electrical power more intelligently than other comparable heaters which must raise temperature incrementally. Once attaining the desired heat level, the heater shuts off and maintains the specified level within a highly accurate temperature band. BUILT TO LAST Fluval Tronic Heaters are solid state there are no moving parts. Since they don t have bi-metallic points like conventional heaters, there are no moving components to arc, corrode or simply wear out. The thermostatic control is found in the electronic circuit board, separate from the Thermal Sensor, and is therefore less affected by extraneous factors. Adding to the longevity of the product, the heater tube is reinforced with thicker glass to afford better protection and ultimate quality. SAFETY SHUT-OFF If the heater is removed from the water while still operating, the hyper-sensitive Thermal Sensor detects accidental exposure to air and immediately cuts power to the core before the heater is damaged. This is extremely important in situations where low water levels occur ( ex. water changes, evaporation, etc.). Once the tube returns to a normal temperature, the Safety-Shut-Off automatically resets and the heater resumes operation. SUPERIOR HEAT DISTRIBUTION These full size heaters provide an extremely efficient heat and water exchange. Depending on the kind of aquarium you want to create, there are many ways to achieve a look which reflects your own individual style using gravel, rocks, plants and fish. A minimal design with a few interesting rock shapes and a single fish species can make a stunningly simple display. Alternatively, you may want something lush and tropical to bring an exotic, opulent feel to a room. 17 Deciding where your aquarium is going to live is an important decision and deserves some preparation and thought. Choosing the right location Once the tank is fully set up with water and decorations it cannot be moved. The only alternative is to completely empty and dismantle it to start again in a new location - definitely NOT a good start to your new aquatic hobby! POSITION AWAY FROM COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND OTHER ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES WHICH MAY BE SERIOUSLY DAMAGED BY WATER SPILLAGES POSITION AWAY FROM DIRECT SUNLIGHT POSITION AWAY FROM TV S, STEREO EQUIPMENT AND ANY SOURCES OF SOUND AND VIBRATION Planning Choosing the right place also depends on various factors which may have undesirable effects on the aquarium conditions. Radiators, sunny windows, fireplaces and other sources of heat should be avoided. TV s, speakers, stereo and any other sources of sound and vibration should be sited away from the aquarium as this will cause distress to the fish. Location Study, dining room, living room, entrance hall - wherever its final position you can be sure that your aquarium will attract interest from visitors and children. Be careful if you are considering using a conservatory - areas with temperature fluctuations are inadvisable. Don t hide it behind other furniture either- it deserves to be seen in pride of place. Use the room planner on the follwing page to help work out a good position. You may want to change the existing furniture arrangement to accomodate it too. POSITION WHERE THE AQUARIUM CAN BE SEEN AND APPRECIATED Power Items of electrical equipment need access to power, so bear this in mind when choosing a site. Make sure you can reach the socket easily. Don t position too close to other electrical appliances where water spills may cause serious damage or safety hazards. POSITION CLOSE TO AN ELECTRICAL OUTLET POSITION AWAY FROM DIRECT SOURCES OF HEAT POSITION AWAY FROM DRAFTS Weight Water is extremely heavy - around 1 kilo (2.2 lbs) per litre (.26 gal). Even the smallest Vicenza aquarium holds 180 litres (47.5 gal) around kilos (385 lbs!) - and that s before adding any gravel or rocks! Give some thought to the flooring too - is it strong enough to support the combined weight of a filled aquarium and cabinet? l 17

19 Use tracing paper or cutout the shapes to lay over the graph and indicate the dimensions of the room or area where you plan to put the aquarium.
