2 Introduction Page 1 CONGRATULATIONS! You are the owner of the SanusAer 14000, the most technologically advanced, portable Ozone Generator in the industry today. The SanusAer design features make it the commercial unit of choice for delivering shock treatment levels of ozone that effectively deodorize, disinfect, and destroy the sources that poison the indoor environment. Fuse 1. The dual fan format creates an impressive 9,840 ft 3 /hr air flow, which when combined with the Vertical Flow System (unique to the industry) improves gas distribution by projecting it out of the top of the unit. This may eliminate the need to elevate the unit during treatments, though using external fans will always help circulate the ozone. 3. Utilizing "corona discharge," the highest volume generation technology available today, this unit generates: 7,000 mg/hour Ozone gas on the low setting (left illuminated switch in "on" position only) 14,000 mg/hour Ozone gas on the high setting (when both switches are illuminated) 4. The science behind SanusAer : The SanusAer creates an electrical spark that converts Oxygen (O 2 ) into Ozone (O 3 ). This three atom molecule seeks out and attaches to all biological or chemical pollutants. These indoor pollutants are oxidized and destroyed as the ozone molecule converts back into clean, breathable oxygen. This is an effective technology, that's completely safe, with no chemical residues left behind. Operating the SanusAer The SanusAer is designed for indoor use only, operate in a dry environment only. PLEASE review the safety information at the end of this section. 2. Close off and secure the area being treated, shutting all doors and windows. Allowing some outside air (crack a window) to feed the unit with "fresh" oxygen will improve the unit's performance. The outside air will not reduce the effectiveness of the treatment, as the gas will still concentrate and build potency. Remember, the unit does require oxygen to generate the ozone, so a fresh supply of outside air is helpful. 3. Post signage warning outsiders from entering the area while it is being treated: ALL People, Pets, and Plants must be vacated from the area during the treatment. 4. Plug the unit into a functioning 120V grounded outlet using a 24 hour mechanical timer that allows the unit to cycle on and off, ensuring a fresh supply of oxygen. Timers without removable pins are recommended, because of their ability to cycle on / off multiple times during treatments.

4 Page 3 5. The left illuminated switch, (main power), starts the two fans and the first pair of ozone plates, providing 7,000 mg/hr output. In the "on" position, the red switch will be illuminated. The two running plates will be visible through the top grate, and will glow a blue color when operating. 6. The right illuminated switch, (booster), powers the secondary pair of ozone plates, generating an additional 7,000 mg/hr. output for a total of 14,000 mg/hr. The right switch cannot operate unless the left switch is in the "on" position (and illuminated). All four ozone plates will glow when the unit is operating at maximum ozone generating mode (both switches in "on" position). 7. The gas must have unobstructed access to every surface, therefore, it is recommended that all internal doors, cabinets, drawers, etc. are left open, so the gas will flow freely. 8. The ozone output of the generator improves in lower humidity environments. Drying out the space prior to treatment, will extend the life of the plates. 9. Because ozone is heavier than air, the unit is designed to project the gas upwards. This allows the unit to be set on the floor in areas with lower ceiling heights. Taller ceiling heights may require the unit be elevated to ensure adequate gas distribution. In addition, the unit's handle can also be used as a stand, tilting the unit on its side to project the gas in a specific direction. 10. In larger areas, treatments can be enhanced by utilizing fans to help circulate the gas. In buildings, central HVAC systems on "fan mode" will also aid in the distribution of the gas, while sanitizing the system ducts. 11. DO NOT run the unit constantly, instead, using the timer, cycle the unit on and off (see the guidelines below) to allow for the most effective treatment. More treatment time may be required, and there's no danger in conducting multiple treatments on the same area.

5 SAFETY Page 4 Important Guidelines: For use in UNOCCUPIED and SECURED space, No People, Pets or Plants.. PEOPLE PETS PLANTS For use by adults only. Never allow children to operate the unit. Over-exposure to ozone can cause mucous membrane and respiratory irritation. Those with asthma or other upper respiratory illnesses, will be more sensitive to ozone. For added safety, we recommend all users wear a carbon filter, chemical vapor respirator mask (P95 or greater rating) while entering / exiting the treatment area. Recommended for added safety Unit must be off for 2 hours before re-entry into treatment area. If there is still a strong sanitizing smell upon reentry, check the unit to ensure that it is off and ventilate the area until the ozone gas is gone. Never operate the unit near water or around flammable liquids, gases, or objects. Never service the unit yourself, except to clean or replace the ozone plates. Doing so, will void the warranty. Although safe for use around food and electronics, remove all treasured art work or valuables from the treatment area (e.g. oil paintings). If exposed for long periods of time, natural rubber will degrade. Operating Notes Unit must be off for a minimum of 2 hours before re-entry into treatment area. Odor can be an indicator of the level of pollutants in an area. Identifying and eliminating the source of the problem is necessary before treatment, or the problem, can re-occur: + Identify and eliminate the source of moisture in mold / mildew situations. Install a moisture barrier or a dehumidifier when applicable. + Identify and eliminate the source of the VOCs causing an odor. + Identify and remove decomposing organic material Repeat treatments may be necessary to fully address an issue.

6 What to Expect After a Treatment: Page 5 When you return to an area after a shock treatment utilizing a SanusAer unit, you ll detect the aroma of ultra fresh air. Many have described this "ultra fresh" smell as the fragrance of cloths that have just come off an outdoor clothes line. Others have described it as the smell of the ocean, or the air after a thunderstorm. Ozone is created during lightening strikes in a thunderstorm and the waves of the ocean and is nature s way of cleaning the environment. Our SanusAer technology creates the same result indoors. The fresh air aroma, a pleasant benefit of the SanusAer process, will usually dissipate within a few days. What remains are the odors of the natural wood, slate, stone or other building materials. The SanusAer treatment safely eliminates the unpleasant odors, allergens, biological pollutants, and VOCs. Though ozone is a gas that is more than 1,000 times more powerful than Chlorine bleach, it is a green technology that leaves no chemical residues behind. Principals of Ozone Generation and Use The SanusAer is an ozone generator that converts ambient oxygen (O 2 ) into ozone (O 3 ), which can be used in "shock treatments" to effectively deodorize, disinfect, and destroy the sources that pollute the indoor environment. A shock treatment is conducted in a vacated space, using high output ozone generators, creating a significant concentration in the treatment area. Generally, the levels of ozone used are too high to comfortably be around, so there can be no people, no pets, or no plants in the area being treated. Other research indicates that people spend approximately 90% of their time indoors. Thus, for many people, the risks to health may be greater due to exposure to air pollution indoors than outdoors. In addition, people who may be exposed to indoor air pollutants for the longest periods of time are often those most susceptible to the effects of indoor air pollution. Such groups include the young, the elderly, and the chronically ill, especially those suffering from respiratory or cardiovascular disease. While pollutant levels from individual sources may not pose a significant health risk by themselves, most buildings have more than one source that contributes to indoor air pollution. There can be a serious risk from the cumulative effects of these sources. Health effects from indoor air pollutants may be experienced soon after exposure or, possibly, years later. The likelihood of immediate reactions to indoor air pollutants depends on several factors. Age and preexisting medical conditions are two important influences. In other cases, whether a person reacts to a pollutant depends on individual sensitivity, which varies tremendously from person to person. According to the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, 50% of all illness is aggravated or caused by polluted indoor air.

9 Maximizing the Life of Your SanusAer Page 8 Advanced Purification's unique design, allows for trouble free operation and low cost maintenance. With easy access to the ozone plates, (8 screws removes the cover), it is possible to clean or replace them in a matter of minutes. Plate Maintenance: THE UNIT MUST BE UNPLUGGED BEFORE THE TOP COVER IS REMOVED Remove the top cover by unscrewing the 8 screws that secure it with a Philips screw driver. Identify four ceramic ozone plates mounted in center of the unit. Gently pull to unplug plates. Ozone Plate [FRONT] [BACK] NOTE: Whenever handling the plates, avoid touching the surface. Instead, grab the plates by the edges, as the oils from your skin can foul the plates, making them less effective.

10 Plate Cleaning: (Previous Page) [Recommended every 500 hours] Page 9 Using rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab, wipe the front of the plate to remove any build-up. + The plates must be dry before reinstalling them. [See picture on previous page] When reinstalling the plates, the plates face the front and back of the unit (green back-to-back) + The front pair faces the front, while the back pair faces the back. When finished, secure the top cover with the eight screws. Replacing Plates: [Recommended every 1,500 hours] Replacement plates can be ordered on-line at ' When installing new plates, make certain that they face the front and back (green back-to-back) + The front pair faces the front, while the back pair faces the back. When finished, replace the cover, and secure it with the 8 screws. Troubleshooting This unit is designed for trouble-free operations, however, the following problems and their respective remedies are provided for trouble shooting purposes: Generator doesn't appear to be getting any power: Check that the unit is plugged into a functioning 110V outlet. Check that the main power switch (left red illuminated switch), is turned on; (right booster switch will not operate unless the main power switch is turned on.) Check that the fuse is not blown. If it is, replace with a 5A GMA Type 5 (slow blow). Both switches are on and the fans are running, but one or more of the plates don't glow, and no ozone or a reduced output is detected: The typical ozone plate will last for approximately 1,500 hours run time, and should be replaced after that, or earlier as their output decreases over time. Replacement plates can be purchased directly from ' Unplug the unit from the power source and check the plates to ensure that they are properly seated into their receptacle. Refer to the section on replacing or cleaning the ozone plates for more specific directions.

11 If the plates are properly seated and cleaned, and there are still plates that don't Page 10 glow, return the unit (see below). The following problems can only be resolved by returning the unit: One or both of the fans don't operate. The fuse blows again after you've replaced it. Commercial customers, those units shipped to a business address, may return our products within 15 days of receipt of the unit. The returned generator must be in "like new" condition. If the unit has been excessively used, abused, or damaged, additional charges may be deducted from the purchase price. To return a product you must call us first for a return authorization number. No returns will be accepted without prior authorization. All units must be returned in the original boxes, including all packing material. 12 Page 11 The Money Back Guarantee period starts when the customer receives the generator as verified by the delivery date, determined by the shipment's tracking number. A return must be shipped out postmarked no later than the requisite period (defined above). Warranty Advanced Purification's 5 Year Warranty Statement: SanusAer Advanced Purification warrants that SanusAer ozone generators will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a 5 year Period. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. The original invoice is required as proof of purchase. If an ozone generator is found to be faulty, Advanced Purification will either repair or replace the faulty ozone generator at no charge provided that it is returned to our manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ohio, USA. Shipping to and from Advanced Purification is the customers responsibility. Extra charges incurred as a result of improper packaging or shipping procedures or extra shipping costs billed to Advanced Purification will be the responsibility of the customer.
