HOUR TIME ENGLISH CLOCK TOWER Historical English Clock Tower from Times Mill Railroad Station in Rochdale, England.

This massive showpiece was constructed in 1910 by the clockmaking firm of Ghenks of Leicester and captures in its design the stately grandeur of the Edwardian Age.

This Historic Tower Clock is so special and unique that Ripley s Believe It or Not Museum attempted to purchase the piece before it was installed on top of the Hour Time Restaurant.

The structure rests on a 14 foot square base containing a single ladder-hatch access for servicing.

A well-known feature of Yorkshire Country, it was often called The Big Ben of Northern England. This massive showpiece was constructed in 1910 by the clockmaking firm of Ghenks of Leicester and captures in its design the stately grandeur of the Edwardian Age. Upon its removal in 1962, the entire assembly was returned to its original makers for a complete renovation before shipment to the United States. This Historic Tower Clock is so special and unique that Ripley s Believe It or Not Museum attempted to purchase the piece before it was installed on top of the Hour Time Restaurant. Each of the four identical dial faces measurers 12 feet in diameter and is composed of an opaque luminous glass accentuated by internal lighting. The structure rests on a 14 foot square base containing a single ladder-hatch access for servicing. The minute hand is five feet long, the hour hand a foot shorter, both are formed in cast iron and weigh over 100 pounds each.
