1 Pool Weasel Vacuum Users Guide Welcome to best way to keep your swimming pool or fountain clean. WE have done everything to insure that the Pool Weasel is the safest pool vacuum system available, You have the responsibility to be sure: THAT THE POWER CORD USED TO OPERATE THE POOL WEASEL IS ALWAYS PLUGGED INTO A G.F.I. RECEPTACLE. If one is not available we will provide one for you. 1. Bring your Pool Weasel to the edge of the pool. Make sure rubber stoppers mounted on the bottom on hand truck are both level on the pool deck. 2. Insert hose to return inlet. Place other end of return hose under surface of water. It is a good practice to always pull return in and out of inlet. Do not rotate return inlet unless you are preparing to vacuum to waste. 3. Attach vacuum pole to desired vacuum head. Press white plastic tabs on vacuum head in and align with corresponding holes on vacuum pole. When alignment is made white tabs will lock in place. 4. Slide rotating cuff is always attached to vacuum head. Make sure that rotating cuff is always attached to vacuum head. Attach other end of vacuum hose to the inlet leading into the strainer basket. 5. Holding vacuum pole place vacuum head under water until resting on pool bottom. Extend vacuum pole. Secure vacuum pole so it will not roll into water. 6. Unscrew plastic strainer basket lid and use lid to place 4-5 caps of water in to strainer basket. Screw cap back on. 7. Lift cover of electrical box. This cover is spring loaded and will have to be held open. Plug power cord to inlet inside electrical box. BE SURE RECEPTACLE IS A G.F.I. or CIRCUIT BREAKER IS A G.F.I. Also be sure cord is secured and will not fall into pool.

2 8. Flip toggle switch upwards or to "ON" position. Your Pool Weasel is now beginning to prime. This process will last about 3 minutes unless you have slowly fed your vacuum hose under water during steps 4 and 5. When water level reaches the clear plastic strainer basket lid and water glasses over then your Pool Weasel is fully primed and ready to show you why it's the most efficient pool vacuum available. Tips for Vacuuming 1. The Pool Weasel allows you to vacuum the walls of your pool with either vacuum heads. 2. If you latch on to something to large to enter vacuum hose raise vacuum head toward surface, Try to remove article without bringing vacuum head out of water. Anytime vacuum head is pulled out of the water there will be an interruption of the prime. If your pool is large enough that the Pool Weasel will have to be moved to complete vacuuming do so following these steps. 1. Move vacuum head and pole to desired relocation. (Secure pole so it will not enter water!) 2. Flip toggle switch to off position and UNPLUG POWER CORD 3. Remove return line 4. Rock unit back and move to desired location. Be prepared to lift vacuum hoses over obstacles i.e. ladders etc 5. Replace Return line 6. Plug power cord back into electrical box make sure power cord is secure. 7. Flip toggle switch to "ON" position

3 8. Resume vacuuming CLEANING FILTERS: The basket filter will occasionally need to be emptied during operation if there are large amounts of debris in your pool. We have as an option as inline leave trap that is capable of holding larger amount of debris. To remove strainer basket filter unscrew clear lid turn metal handle until plastic tabs align with slots and pull out. If any large objects fall out of filter into housing REMOVE. Dump strainer basket and replace making sure to align tabs with slots and give ¼ turn. CARTRIDGE FILTER: 3. There is a gauge on the lid of the cartridge filter that reads from 0-45 P.S.I. During operation if this gauge reads "0" then your filter is clean. When the reading approaches 15 P.S.I. it is suggested to stop and clean filter. Under normal circumstances you should be able to vacuum your pool without having to clean the filter. It will extend the life of the filter if you will clean it after every vacuuming. It will also take less time to clean the filter. TO CLEAN: Unscrew wing nut on top of cartridge filter housing. Remove top and pull cartridge out of housing. Hose pleats of filter vigorously with the spray from a garden hose. Move up and down pleats. Turn on other end and repeat. Check housing for debris rock over on hand truck handle and hose out if need be. Replace filter. Be sure " 0" ring a top filter housing is properly aligned on lip of filter housing. USING THE POOL WEASEL TO VACUUM TO WASTE: There may be times that you may want to vacuum debris from pool totally removing debris and water from the pool. Examples of these times may be when you have removed a pool cover and vacuum the first time. Or if you have shocked your pool and have large amounts of algae. Maybe someone has had an accident or thrown a flower pot etc into the pool. Under these circumstances you will want to

4 vacuum to waste and this how you do that. Place the Pool Weasel by pool as normal procedure. Unscrew winged nut on cartridge filter and remove filter. Replacing winged nut. Insert return line where it arcs to the left away from pool, and then attach old vacuum hose to return line. A little Magic Lube may help encouraging old vacuum hose into return line. Place other end of old vacuum hose to desired draining location. Follow normal vacuuming procedures. The Pool Weasel can also be used to drain a pool or pool cover following these procedures. TROUBLE SHOOTING The Pool Weasel HATES a dirty filter Please rinse after each use! 1. Pool Weasel will not prime or looses prime -Clean cartridge filter and basket filter -Something may have become lodged in vacuum head inlet. Turn Pool Weasel off, pull vacuum head out of water and clear passage. -Strainer basket lid is not on tight -Swivel cuff may be attached to inlet going to strainer basket -Impeller* may be clogged To access the IMPELLER* 1. Lay unit down until it rests on red handle 2. Unscrew wing nut that holds strainer basket assembly to pump

5 3. Remove metal ring. You may have to slightly pry off with screw driver. (BEWARE: edges of this ring are sharp- remove carefully) 4. Allow filter basket assembly to fold away from pump assembly 5. Remove large "o" ring 6.Remove 5 screws on diffuser and remove diffuser 7.Clear passages and veins of impeller 8.Reinstall diffuser 9.Re-seed "O" ring using generous amounts of Magic Lube to keep in place 10. Move strainer basket assembly back in place 11. Re-install metal ring and wing nut. 2. If thermal over load in pump switches unit off or if you are having problems tripping circuit breakers you may have problems with electrical wiring in your receptacle or circuit breaker. This may also be a symptom of clogged impeller. Consult electrician if your feel you have faulty wiring problems You should experience many years of service from your Pool Weasel.
