1 Declaration of conformity The XSGuardrail system conforms to the requirement of OSHA and : Guardrail for WalkingWorking Surfaces and Guardrail for Fall Protection. The XSGuardrail system is exclusively intended for temporary work at height. The system is not intended as safety for platforms or roofs which are open to public. When using a maximum distance between two uprights of 8 feet, the use of two counterweights (XSMass blocks) is required. Each mass block has a total weight of 50.7 pounds. All XSPlatforms products are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality control in accordance with the latest industrial standards. Outline of the standard: XSUpright XSTube 19,7 inch max. XSToeboard 19,7 inch max. 42 inch max. XSToeboard Bracket 4 inch min. XSMass (2 x) one-quarter inch min. Counterweights = XSMass (50.7 pounds) x 2 per XSUpright. The Guardrail must be at least 42 inch high and include at least one knee rail. A 4 inch high kickboard must be installed at the base of the guardrail when the roof does not have a parapet of at least 6 inch high. The distance between the upright should be no more than 8 feet whenever possible.the materials used must be capable of resisting any corrosion caused by ambient atmospheric conditions. Force = 200 pounds in any direction Length = 8 feet Standard test: Conformity to standard OSHA dependent on following test: Static tests The guardrail must be capable of taking a load of 200 pounds (890 N) in any direction. 8 feet is the maximum distance between two uprights allowed by the standard. Applied successively to the top of an upright or to the middle of a guardrail section, the force should be kept for one minute. The maximum observed deformation, for both tests, must be less than 4 inch and there should be no significant remaining deformation visible after the load is removed. Force Len gth

4 permanent safety with minimum impact The highest degree of fall protection is achieved by the use of guardrails. Nothing is as safe as this permanent, yet simple solution that ensures the protection of an unlimited number of people. Why guardrails? Guardrail systems offer optimum safety with minimum effort. They create a safe working environment without the need of precautions and personal protection equipment. There are also additional advantages compared to several other solutions. On a long term basis, our EN13374 compliant XSGuardrails are most cost-effective and, in addition, protect an unlimited number of people working on a roof. Our guardrails are free of any mandatory annual inspection or certification, do not need any preparation before use, require no user knowledge and offer the workers optimum freedom of movement. XSGuardrails by xsplatforms Since in most countries the law requires building owners to ensure safety for personnel or others working on rooftops, a guardrail system is the best choice. 5 XSFixed The XSFixed has a fixed base and upright with no further design. Installed along the roof s edge, it provides maximum protection for those working at heights. xscurved This is a variant of the XSFixed, slightly different in design. The upright of the guardrail is curved, to create a more attractive appearance. This way, it can add to the aesthetic appeal of a building s structure. An additional advantage of curved uprights is that it automatically keeps workers further from the roof edge. xsflex Another option to minimize the impact on a building s design is the also freestanding, easy to install XSFlex. It has all the same properties as the XSFixed and XSCurved, but adds a significant property: it is foldable. This makes the XSFlex invisible to the eye when not in use and exceptionally suitable as temporary solution: during work on the roof, the guardrail can be used by pointing the rails upwards. When there is no work being done, it can easily be made invisible by simply folding it back down. 6 One of our Partners in The Netherlands was contracted for a large project, involving a combination of several XSGuardrail systems. The architect s main demand and concern was to keep the building s exterior completely intact. By installing specially coated guardrails, the systems are integrated into the building s design, minimizing the impact on its outer appearance.
