3 Main tasks: Kazakhstan Institute of Metrology Development of normative documents in the field of Legal Metrology; Development and Improvement of national measurement standards base; Participation in standards comparisons to get international recognition of national CMCs; Transferring of size of measurement units from the state primary standards to reference standards of metrological bodies within the country; Testing of measurement instruments for the purpose of Type approval; Production of measurement instruments (CRMs, GMV, hardness blocks) Scientific researches in metrology; Participation in international cooperation; Organization of training courses, conferences and seminars on metrology. 4

11 Time and Frequency Laboratory Time and frequency laboratories of our institute are situated in Almaty and Astana cities: Technical base in Almaty city: 3 H-masers: 2 VCH-1005 and one VCH-1004, one cesium standard 5071A, time transfer system VP Encore Motorola and equipment of external and internal comparisons, other calibration equipments; Technical base in Astana city: 4 cesium standard 5071A, time transfer system, TTS-3 and TTS-4, Pulse and frequency amplifiers, highresolution phase and frequency offset generator HROG-5, SR-620, 3 Meinberg LanTime M300 Time Servers and calibration equipments. Staff: 4 experts and time keeper in Almaty city, 1 expert and time keeper in Astana city. 15
