Current building control regulations require buildings to be built or refurbished to the highest energy saving standards. A Lighting Control System can help eliminate energy waste and improve comfort by balancing the light provided by the building and the light needed by occupants. For example a restaurant may use scene setting to change the ambience from brighter at lunchtime to softer and darker in the evening. Instead of traditional uniform lighting we use photocell sensors to vary the output of lights in areas near windows to those in darker areas away from windows. Scheduled lighting control is used throughout an entire building or across an entire floor. The lighting can be programmed to turn on in the morning, then dim or turn off in the evening with built in adjustment for seasonal and hour change. Sensors detect presence and/or absence so lights are turned off when a room is unoccupied saving energy. Lights are automatically turned on to preprogrammed levels when occupancy is detected. Scene control from our wide range of control plates or tablet type devices allows the user to have preprogrammed light levels that suit their meeting room, restaurant, hotel room or home. Lighting uses around 20% of the electricity generated in the UK and can account for around 40% of a building s electricity use. Tunable White (also known as Human Centric Lighting) balances the artificial light in our daily environment to simulate the natural daylight cycle. A person s natural circadian rhythm can benefit from a low intensity warmer light in the morning and evening, and a cooler more energising light during the main part of the day, helping to improve energy levels, mood, performance and even a better night s sleep. Tunable White provides improved well-being for patients in hospital, students in education and employees in offices by varying the colour temperature to any value - it s the next most exciting thing in lighting control. Fully addressable and networkable, combining state-of-the-art technology RAPID meets the most demanding lighting control and energy management applications cost effectively. Control your lighting environment to ensure the building is as energy efficient as possible whilst providing a comfortable and efficient environment through use of daylight linking, scene setting, presence and/or absence detection and fully addressable DALI/ dsi or 1-10v dimming. Corridor Hold Fade to Dim Daylight Linking New 8, 10 and 12 Channel Pluggable RAPID LCM The latest generation of RAPID Lighting Control Module (LCM) comes as either a single 8, 10 or 12 channel unit or as DIN rail mounted panels. Providing the ideal solution for commercial projects and including new and innovative features to benefit the specifier, installer and client. The standard RAPID LCM has eight, ten or twelve individually addressable outputs to allow for fully independent control of DALI/DSI/1-10v or switching only fittings. The modular design allows you to specify for Cat A and is expandable for Cat B using a two or four output plugin module giving 12 outputs in total. This reduces cost at fit out stage. Standard 10 Channel Pluggable LCM This RAPID module provides ten individually addressable channels controlling 10 independent outputs. Eight switch input interfaces and two RJ45 connections for presence detectors and other peripheral devices are provided on the front of the lighting control module. The module is designed for ease of installation and set up; all connections to the unit can be pre-wired; an integral emergency lighting test facility allows the supply to the luminaires to be interrupted using the lighting control system. 5 TheisCraft Lighting Controls Area Controller The Area Controller allows all LCMs on a floor to communicate with each other as well as enabling communication between floors and / or a Head End PC. The Area Controller also allows the system to be sub divided into different zones. The built in Time Scheduler with battery back-up allows for timed events such as local lighting and emergency test schedules. Pre-programmed emergency test durations of three hours, one hour and 10 minutes are available. The numerical keypad with PIN lock has three access levels for engineers, contractors and facilities management. The need to integrate with other building systems is ever increasing and we offer this through RS232, Bacnet and KNX. The RAPID Area Controller has three switchable field BUS outputs for connection of floor networks including LCMs, hardwired modules, and DALI gateways. In addition to this, there are three corresponding RJ45 ports for RAPID field BUS monitoring via the Engineer s laptop. There is also TCP/IP addressability via an on-board Ethernet Port which allows for connectivity to the building network. Connectivity Mains is connected and looped (if required) by the dual Live, Earth, and Neutral terminals. Eight ELV inputs also allow for direct connection of switches to the Area Controller, there is also an integrated volt free output for connection of emergency test or other interfaces. Via an Ethernet connection, the Area Controller can become a wireless communication between it and the system devices. This allows both our Commissioning Engineers and the Head End PC to communicate wirelessly with the Area Controller, thus making commissioning cable free. Hard Wired LCM Hard wired LCMs can be provided in configurations of single, five and ten channel, ideal where a traditional 8-12 way LCM may not be practical. Each output is individually controlled and dimmable. A hard wired solution is ideal for those areas not usually associated with the main part of the lighting control system. Compatible with Head End PC and Emergency Monitoring. In the same style of enclosure DALI 64 sub address modules provide the flexibility of 64 fully addressable DALI devices, ideal for chilled beam, continuous run lighting and core areas. In today s demanding high tech world, the need to communicate with other systems is ever growing. We have products to meet every type of interface, so interfacing with AV, blinds, BMS and control with tablet via wifi is simply the next logical step. Cloud Tablet Control The new TheisCraft Cloud based Tablet Control product has been designed to meet the increasing needs and demands of our clients for wireless WiFi tablet based control of their lighting. Working with our range of lighting controls it will mimic the ability to turn lights on and off, up and down, call scenes and individual lighting circuits or channels. The system is a Cloud based product that works with the new style Area Controller. Once connected to the internet via an IP address it s totally configurable via an internet log-in to the Cloud where you can create your system profile. Multiple profiles can be accessed via a password log in for multiple sites all from the one Tablet, this makes it ideal for Facility Managers who want to have control over multiple sites. Once connected to the Profile of a site you have a user defined menu driven system allowing the user to view Building, Floor and Room with your own description for each. You can customise the background by taking a picture of the room from the tablet and set it as the background for that room or area. Then define as many icons as you wish for the scenes or circuits you require to control. Optional wall bracket is available for the tablet (lockable). 8 theiscraft.co.uk

6 Pluggable Modular Dali MDB Available in 1 x 64 or 2 x 64 variants. The MDB can be supplied to site already wired in ready for lighting control, the Dali module simply plugs in at the Commissioning stage. Taking the proven nine port MDB product that has been successfully used in the industry, we offer the option to use the modular wiring system with a pluggable DALI 64 unit which simply plugs into a port on the MDB. The master distribution box has nine ports, 6 x five pole sockets for connection luminaires plus 3 pole sockets for high-level power distribution for VAV and Fan Coil Units. All ports are wired with a home run of any length. The MDB has a nine pole connector for the plug in DALI 64 module with all the features of a hard wired device. DALI luminaires and sensors can be wired from any of the 5 pole sockets. 4 x RJ45 sockets for connecting devices such as network PIRs, Scene Control Plates and Switch inputs. So you can install your modular wiring and connect your luminaires at any time and the lights will work without the need for configuration. Modular Pluggable DALI 64 The DALI 64 Modular is a pluggable RAPID lighting control module (LCM) designed for controlling 64 addressable DALI devices such as fluorescent or LED lighting ballasts. It also has one switch input. The LCM has a nine pole GST style connector for the mains, switch input, DALI and RAPID CAN Bus and is designed to be used in conjunction with our modular wiring system. By plugging in the module at the commissioning stage, all lights wired via the modular wiring will be addressable through the MDB. Used in conjunction with our range of DALI presence detectors and Dali switch module a single DALI cable can be run to digitally control all the lighting and power the sensors. This saves time and money on additional specialist cable. It lends itself to Cat A and Cat B projects. At Cat A you can have the control, or if preferred, control can be supplied when the building is fitted out for a tenant. This gives a real cost saving to the base build. 7 TheisCraft Lighting Controls Hotel Room Controller Hard wired LCMs can be provided in configurations for up to ten channels from one control module and multiple units can be connected together in a single enclosure to control more circuits if required. This is ideal for the hotel room control scenario where a traditional pluggable 8-12 way LCM may not be practical. Each output is individually controlled, stand-alone or connected to a central monitoring processor, which can include emergency monitoring. RCD and MCBs are provided to the requirements of the individual rooms. Configurable inputs and outputs provide a choice of control options to enable Vin Card operation, VF door contacts and Microwave Detectors to be configured to either call a scene, or allow the unit to be in standby read for the occupant to select a scene. Outputs to the room heating and cooling system are also standard on the controller

8 TheisCraft Lighting Controls Scene Selection Plates Scene Selection Plates allow lights to be controlled at different levels and in different groups to create scenes. We can programme between one and eight different scenes, raise, lower and off. Fade rates can also be configured to meet the needs of the surrounding environment. Three columns of buttons are available from a standard single gang plate, typically stainless steel although any finish or colour can be produced to order. The introduction of the third column means we can now offer blind control functions from one plate. This works with many blind and shade systems as well as our own blind control module. With this new range, the control plate can be set to control multiple rooms. We do this by assigning button columns to different rooms or groups of lighting circuits. Presence / Absence Detectors Having lights on in an empty room or space costs money so we use sensors to detect presence and absence and automatically turn lights on or off as required. There are two types of sensor PIR (Passive Infra-Red) and Microwave Detectors. PIR (Passive Infra-Red) Detectors detect change in the infra-red spectrum from body heat and movement within a defined field. I would like to thank your engineer for a great job and it was a pleasure to have him for the day. He was very professional and he couldn t do enough to help the Emirates staff understand the system and gave them a full hand over. Alternative colour options are available to special order. We can accommodate most RAL colours. Non-Intelligent Switch Plates A more cost effective solution which enables you to switch sequences and dim up and down within each one. There is no LED back lighting. An ideal alternative to a retractive switch. Microwave Detectors transmit energy and measure the energy reflected back from objects in the room. They are very sensitive to movement and operate over long ranges and through glass. They are ideal for large spaces and awkward shaped areas where fine motion detection is required. 14 theiscraft.co.uk

9 EmergiCraft Emergency Monitoring TheisCraft provides the EmergiCraft range of emergency lighting and control products. Tablet based standalone DALI Emergency Monitoring system which offers customers a standalone fully DALI compliant self-test system controlled from an ipad mini via a TCP/IP network and wireless access point. TheisCraft s emergency lighting test system consists of one or more touch screens each supporting up to ten DALI emergency hubs. Each hub has two separate DALI field networks supporting up to 64 DALI devices each. Each touch screen and associated DALI Emergency Hub has the capacity to manage up to 1,280 DALI emergency devices. These devices can be allocated to one of 16 testing groups. Up to eight touch screens can be networked together to form a system which can potentially accommodate up to 10,240 DALI emergency devices. The TheisCraft EmergiCraft ipad app provides an intuitive User Interface designed to provide clear and simple at a glance visualisation, commissioning and management of an Emergency Lighting testing system. At a glance system status information. System diagnostic information. Alert messages and colour coding of status graphics. Configurable automatic testing schedule. Logging of the last 11 Monthly Function Tests and 5 Annual Duration Tests. Results are sent to a printer for hard copy records (Apple AirPrint compatible). In hotels rooms a welcome setting can be selected for guest arrival and a choice of scenes pre-programmed to enable them to choose which suits their needs. A restaurant can pre-programme lighting to suit different audiences throughout the day. So you can create the right environment for morning coffee, lively lunches or intimate evening dining. Controlling lighting in your home can enhance character and features. Timed events ensure interior and exterior lights are switched on for when you get home, programmed to suit each season. Architectural Scene Selection Plates Glass Scene Selection Plates with eight configurable buttons allow lights to be controlled at different levels and in different groups to create scenes. All buttons have integral indicator LEDs with seven user selectable RGB colours and intensity - red, green, blue, magenta, cyan, orange and white. 13 TheisCraft Lighting Controls Modular Wiring Cabling is a fundamental part of a building providing the connectivity which is important for reliable performance. Our structured modular wiring arrives on site pre-wired and pre-tested where its plug and play format makes it quick and easy to fit, reducing installation time, minimising disruption at ground level thereby maximising productivity on site. By integrating different types of cabling it is possible to maximise the efficiency of the system, for example using modular wiring to connect the supply of light fittings, fan coil units, small power and cleaner sockets and also integrate with a DALI based programmable control system. It has been estimated that using a structured cabling system can provide the contractor with average 30% savings on the final installed cost. It is rare for a building not to undergo changes over subsequent years. This more structured approach to the building s wiring system makes it easier to re-configure services and accommodate changes. C.A.T.S (Cable Accuracy Test System) TheisCraft has worked in conjunction with one of the world s leading manufacturers of test rigs to build a bespoke system for testing the continuity and polarity of leads. This means we have full traceability of all leads and modular wiring built and tested as all files are saved under your specific project reference through our dedicated test system. Our plug and play power cables are designed for environments and situations more complex and demanding than those of the domestic domain. Our bespoke software s user-configurable test definitions handle the fact that cable batches can be of different lengths and different core counts, up to six cores, all requiring their own tailored electrical function and safety tests plus inspection routines. The system not only tests and records the electrical safety (insulation resistance) and functional (continuity) parameters of every cable at lightning speed but also provides immediate pass / fail indication. This greatly facilitates deskilling of the test processes, and detailed reports can be generated instantly to accompany a job or project for audit trail and verification purposes. We don t actually need to do the level of testing that we do. We test every lead but regulations state only a percentage need testing. 14 TheisCraft Lighting Controls Master Distribution Box (MDB) Standard MDBs provide an easy to install plug and play solution. Available in six and nine port configurations for three, four and five pole connectivity. Ideal for buildings with a fixed layout ideal e.g. schools, public sector buildings and in commercial buildings. Max 20 amp circuits pre-wired to enable fast fix approach to room control via a modular approach. Home runs typically wired in 2.5mm 2, 4.0mm 2 or 6.0mm 2 BASEC approved cables in 40mm 2 or 32mm 2 galvanised steel flexible conduit. Pre-wired, tested and supplied tamper-proof to site. Switched Fuse Spur TheisCraft s Modular Wiring Switched Fuse Spur is supplied in a zinc coated steel enclosure. This can be supplied as a single or double switch output unit. The unit has three pole male and female modular wiring connection ports for simple plug and play connection of both metal and soft skin supply leads, typically from a MDB unit. Wired in tri rated 2.5mm singles internally rated to a maximum of 20A. Depending on which unit is chosen you will then have a neon indicated switch for isolation and a barrel fuse for local fuse protection. You can specify the length of the flex lead for the final connection to the VAV or Fan Coil Module.
