4 ABOUT THIS GUIDE This is a guide to help you prepare for emergencies. Emergencies can happen at any time. You are responsible for yourself, your family and your home. Being prepared and having a plan will help you stay calm and look after your family. 6 Be Safe at home keep ESCAPE LADDERS handy know all your exits keep EXITS clear and in working order Test Carbon Monoxide Alarms * Sleep with your bedroom doors closed. Call Fire Department if you have concerns. They will test and check alarms. Make sure... older children & adults know how and when to use fire extinguishers. 911 Consider a CORDED PHONE.
