2 Ironmongery Performance Specifications 1.0 Door Hardware Briton Levers, Escutcheon s & Bathroom Indicators Levers, escutcheon s and bathroom Indicators are supplied with bolt through fixings with Torx head to ensure a highly durable and tamperproof installation. Spindle is fixed by means of a grubscrew piercing a specially manufactured spindle which ensures maximum fixing strength. Products have been tested to EN 1906 Grade 4 for performance characteristics (the highest in the standard for high frequency and violent use e.g. football stadiums). Tested to EN 1634 for fire rating (90 minutes timber & 4hours steel) and EN 179 for emergency exit applications in conjunction with Briton escape locks. Many products also meet the requirements of BS 8300 for inclusive access. Products will suit doors from 44mm to 54mm thickness. Briton Pushplates Pushplates are manufactured from 1.2mm stainless steel and are supplied as standard with radius corners and drilled and countersunk holes to suit face fixing. Screws are included. Grade 304 is standard but other grades are available. Briton Signs Signs are produced from 76mm diameter x 1.5mm stainless steel. Drilled and countersunk to suit face fixing. Screws are included. Briton Flush Bolts Tested to meet EN12051: 1999 Grade 4. Manufactured from stainless steel and available with square or radiused ends in a variety of lengths. 2.1 Overhead Door Controls Door closers have been tested in accordance with EN 1154 for durability and performance and fire tested to EN Covered by the Allegion 10 year mechanical guarantee. Briton 2700 Cast Iron body for high level of durability and long life performance. Cam action technology allows reliable closer power setting yet still be easy to open. All models feature backcheck and delayed action as standard. Variable closing power 2 to 5. CE classification for all applications except push side transom which is 2-4. Fire door rating 2hr timber/1hr steel.

4 Ironmongery Performance Specifications Tested to EN 1154 for mechanical performance & EN 1155 for electronically controlled devices 2.2 Electromagnetic Closers Electromagnetic closers have been tested to EN 1154 for mechanical performance, EN 1155 for electronically controlled devices and EN 1634 for fire performance. Linked to fire alarm system, units will release under a fire alarm actuation and are fail-safe in the event of a loss of power. Devices are covered by the Allegion 10 year mechanical and 2 year electrical guarantee. Briton 2720BD.TE Cast iron body for high level of durability and long life performance. The intumescent gasket set will provide the additional performance that is required to protect the door from integrity failure during fire conditions. It is particularly important with these closers to check that the details of the fire test certification are relevant to your intended door application.
