3 Introduction Dear customer, Thank you for your confidence shown by the purchase of this innovative product. We firmly believe that our product will be a pleasant and reliable companion on the road with your caravan or motorhome and will facilitate its use and preparation, especially in the winter. Before putting this product into operation, please thoroughly read these instructions for use. Use the product only as described in this manual. Keep the instructions for future use. At least for the duration of the warranty keep the original packaging and proof of purchase. In the case of transportation, pack the product in its original packaging to ensure maximum protection during transport to the service center. Safety warnings and instructions 1. Carefuly unpack the product and take care not to throw away any part of the packaging before you find all the parts of the product. 2. This product is not intended for people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been conducted given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product by a person responsible for their safety. 3. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the product. 4. In any case, try to repair the product yourself and do not make any modifications. All repairs and adjustments to entrust professional service. Tampering with the product during the warranty period may void the warranty. 5. Keep the product away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. 6. Do not use the product for purposes other than those for which it is intended. 7. Never submerge product into water or any other liquid. 8. Never step or jump on the pad. 9. The product is intended for measuring the filling level of gas cylinders only. 10.Do not use other batteries than is prescribed. 11.When product is not used for a long time, remove the batteries. 12.The manufacturer is not liable for damages caused by improper application. Package content and product descriptions Functional set consists of a wireless measuring pad and display. These are packed separately, as the display can be paired with up to 2 measuring pads or the pad can be paired with more displays. Included is a installation material in the form of double sided adhesive tape 3M VHB (pad) and velcro Dual Lock (display). Batteries are already inserted in products. 3

4 Wireless measuring pad Wireless display Installation and first operation 1. First launch of display After inserting the batteries into the display it shows a sequence of three screens. At first logo, next system name and serial number of display firmware version. Show duration of each of them is 2 seconds. Followed by a status screen that disappears. The first battery is inserted in the factory, eliminating the need to perform this step. For more information see chapter Batteries replacement. 2. Pairing of gas pad with display Before the first operation with the display you should read at first the chapter Controlling Menu navigation. By short pressing (less than 0.25 sec) of ON/SET button on the display device will wake up and if it was not previously paired with any measuring pad it will display "No device set". By 4

5 medium long pressing (0.5 2 sec) the button is shown the status information screen and repeat of this will enter the menu. By short pressing you can select the position to which you will assign the measurement pad. Medium long press will select the position and then press shortly to select "Pair gas pad". Confirm it by medium long pressing and display will turn into search mode of measuring pads "Pairing...". Now open the batteries cover on the measuring pad using a Phillips screwdriver and perform the activation of the battery by pulling out the insulation plate. Gas pad will simultaneously turn into pairing mode, which remains 15 seconds. If re pairing is needed remove one battery and put it back. After a successful pairing the display will show "Paired" and serial number of paired measuring pad is shown. Serial number can be found on a label on the back of the unit. For the second measuring pad we repeat the entire procedure. 3. Measurement set up For proper function, you must select the type of gas bottle and its contents. Setting is made by entering the menu to select the pads as described above and select "Bottle type". Now we have the choice of several types of gas bottles, whose starting weight when empty is defined in the table below. Select the right type of bottle whose weight you can tune using the "Bottle tune". Given that each gas bottle of the same type can vary the weight from production and at the same time its weight in the installed condition affects accessories connected closely with bottle, e.g. regulator, hose or the locking elements. Therefore there is possibility to make a tuning in the range of kg with increments of 0.1 kg for 11 kg steel bottle and ± 1.5 kg for the other types of bottles. Initial weights of empty bottles can be found on the packaging shown on picture below. The weight is usually written including a valve without additional accessories. 5

6 It is also necessary to set type of filling "Gas type". Maximum allowed filling weight of propane and propane butane mixture for each bottle varies. Measuring pad also measures the ambient temperature, because each type of gas filling has a different temperature limit for the evaporation of the gas phase. For the second measuring pad we repeat the entire procedure. The system is now ready to measure and install the pad into the gas box. The following table defines the types of gas bottles and their contents stored in the device. Installation Put the vehicle into a horizontal position. Place the pad on position for gas bottle to the gas box and fix its square base with the supplied double sided tape (clean and degrease surface) or fix it by screws. The area under the pad must be flat and dimensionally stable. No object can impede to bearing surface for bottle, its edge and the gas bottle of downward movement to the base. Otherwise, it may skew the measurement. Installation into some types of gas boxes may require additional adjustments for placing. Always contact a professional service to do this. In the case of connecting the regulator directly to the valve can be done further tune of the initial weight to get the most accurate measurement. The construction of pad allows the permanent use under the gas bottle, therefore it is not necessary to take it out before driving. 6

7 After installing the pad with a bottle close the gas box and verify measurement by short pressing the button on display which will show amount of gas in the bottle. Now select the best location for display, preferably near sleeping areas to hear sufficiently alarm if any gas leak will appear. The selected place you have to verify for the signal availability from the measuring pad, which is displayed on the status information screen. Signal range is up to 35 m, depending on the vehicle design and ambient conditions. Attach the display using the included velcro tape, or you can use it freely. Control 1. Menu navigation To control and setting here is a single button. Depending on the length of time you press this button changes its functions. 7

8 Short press less than 0.25 sec: Enable / move between pages Medium long press 0.5 sec to 2 sec: Select Long press 2 sec to 4 sec: Back Hold more than 4 sec: Shutdown The display is in default in sleep mode for maximum battery life, which is for normal use up to 2 years. By pressing the button display wakes up and shows information about gas bottles if they are paired. If you do not press any button for 5 seconds it will turn off the backlight and after next 5 seconds goes back into a sleep mode. The exception is the movement in the menu or in settings where the interval enters sleep mode after 30 seconds. The following diagram shows the control logic of the display. 8

9 2. Information of gas bottles All information about the bottles are showed on the first screen after you wake up the display by short pressing the control button. Percentage value is based on the type of bottle, the type of filling and weight measured by the pad. Next are showed information of low battery, exceeded tilt of measuring pads, gas leak alarm, warning of not up to date data and warning of low temperature depending on the chosen gas filling. Warning of exceeded tilt is displayed when the tilt of measuring pad could significantly reduce its accuracy. The limit is 6 from the horizontal position. Warning of low temperature will appear in the case, if the selected type of filling is Propane Butane and the temperature falls below 0.5 C (at this point stops to vaporize butane), or does not work the temperature sensor. Warning of not up to date data is shown if the display did not receive any data from the measuring pad for more than 20 minutes. This may be caused by depleted batteries or large distance between the devices. The time after this warning is shown is 20 minutes. 3. Status information Status screen shows battery capacity of the display and signal strength received from gas measuring pads. Short press the button to show screen with information of bottles and then by medium long press switch to status information. The battery symbol shows the remaining capacity. It has two modes, charge state indicated by a full battery and a discharged state, which is indicated by the crossed out battery. The signal strength is indicated in four steps. The more bars displayed = the stronger the received signal is. 9

10 4. Gas leak detection The system has a function for detecting gas leakage from gas bottle, or between the gas bottle and regulator where there is a high risk of leakage due to high pressure in the system. Detection is divided into two kinds of leakage, a sudden "Sudden leak" and gradual "Slow leak". Sudden leak detects fast loss of a filling weight (more than 0.2 kg), which is for example a broken hose or when the pressure valve is not closed properly. Gradual leak detects smaller leaks in the system or controller failure and is limited to a maximum throughput of gas regulators usually used in caravans. Both detection modes are in default enabled for both of bottles and can be switched off if necessary, e.g. if the consumption from the bottle has to be higher. In the case when alarm will appear the backlight of the display is flashing accompanied by a warning beep. Alarm cancellation is done by pressing the button. If the alarm is not canceled, it will stop automatically after 2 minutes and display will turn into the sleep mode. Alarm event is stored in memory of the display and is shown next to the icon of current bottle after display wakes up. Batteries replacement 1. Gas pad batteries replacement Open the batteries cover on the measuring pad using a Phillips screwdriver. As power of measuring pads are used 3pcs of batteries AA size. Used can be alkaline, carbon zinc or lithium batteries with a nominal voltage of 1.5 V per cell. When using alkaline batteries with a capacity of mah the batteries life is up to 2 years. After inserting the batteries, the measuring pad is first 15 seconds in pairing mode and can be paired with display. 10

11 2. Display battery replacement Open the back cover of the display using a Phillips screwdriver by unscrewing four screws as is shown on the first image. Power is provided by lithium battery type LS14500 with a capacity of mah and voltage of 3.6 V. This battery can be purchased in specialty stores. After removing and inserting the new battery back you do not need to re pair display or set up it again. Battery life is approximately 2 years under normal usage.
