Strategically placed in south Texas near the Eagle Ford Shale play, NOV Appco has added an additional manufacturing facility to accommodate the increasing demand for equipment. Located in China Grove, Texas, the new facility includes a total of 54,000 square feet of roofed manufacturing area, office, and warehouse space that resides on 22 acres. 2 Hydra Rig Nitrogen Division Introduces Touch Screen Control Trailer mounted 180K head recovery nitrogen Unit NOV Hydra Rig s Nitrogen Division introduces the first touch screen control system for heat recovery nitrogen pumping units. The intuitive touch screen interface provides complete unit controls and automates several operationcritical functions that reduce cool down time for faster job completion. Automated functions that reduce potential operator error and improve job safety include tank pressure control, boost pump prime and boost pump control. The system includes a data acquisition system with real time data stream for complete job performance monitoring keeping you in control of your nitrogen operations around the globe 24/7. 3 New Brazil Site Offers Huge Potential NOV ASEP Elmar launched its new base in Brazil last year. The manufacturing and service hub has been established in Macaé to target the South American market. Manufacturing using CNC machines is now being carried out at the new site to deliver high pressure subsea crown plugs, which are being installed in wellheads used offshore for the Petrobras Global Project. The new Brazil site is 10,000 sq ft and includes a state of the art machine shop and office facilities. It will also act as an after sales support base for all NOV ASEP Elmar equipment sold into Brazil, including winches and pressure control equipment. Following an audit of its quality management system, the new Brazil site was awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for sales. This prestigious accreditation is recognized worldwide and proves NOV ASEP Elmar s commitment to providing a first-class service to all its customers. Within the industry, certified quality management systems have come to the forefront and it is essential to have this recognition. David Brebner, Vice President of NOV ASEP Elmar, said: The opening of our base in Brazil marks further progress in our strategy to grow the business in this market, and Macaé is an excellent point from which we can access the entire Latin America region. We have a long-established relationship with the majority of the multinational service companies and we are delighted that our equipment is being used on important Petrobras projects. The Brazil region offers huge potential for NOV ASEP Elmar due to the ambitious plans set out by the country. The Brazilian energy market is investing massively in the sector to make the maximum use of its resources and to meet growing demand. In keeping with this, Petrobras announced plans for doubling of oil production by 2020, with pre-salt fields participation in the total production increasing from 2% in 2011 to 18% in 2015 and 41% in Page 3

4 Hydra Rig Canada Introduces High Visibility CT Control Cabin Hydra Rig Canada is now delivering CT units with a new control cabin design providing superior visibility. The operator gets a clear view of the tubing reel and injector on the wellhead through the lower and upper windows that have doubled the visibility and lines of sight to increase safety, operability and comfort. The first of this design is now operating with Kamber Energy Services in British Columbia. This new cabin has received excellent feedback from operators and is being offered as an option on all new CT units built by Hydra Rig Canada. Cerberus Modeling Software Customer-requested Enhancements Rule Customer requests are a very important part of enhancement selections that are incorporated into the current version of Cerberus. Cerberus v10.0 includes additional graphs for plotting in Hydra, and simple FLATpak -type tubing-forces modeling in the Cerberus forces model, Orpheus. Cerberus enhanced modeling functionalities for pulsation devices like the NOV Downhole Agitator are of primary importance in today s extended reach operations. (See NOV CTES s extended reach article in this issue for more information.) Argus Ovality Graph in Cerberus Reel-Trak Orpheus enhancements include real-time modeling of forces, which allows specification of a full Orpheus project from OrionNET, NOV CTES s data acquisition software. Also, Argus TubeSpec data can now be imported into Cerberus (coiled tubing only) and used in fatigue calculations. 5 Texas Oil Tools and CTES move to new facility We are excited about our new location, a 180,000 square foot facility which includes an expanded machine shop, office, assembly, testing, and our research and development lab. The move is still within the Conroe Park North business park which we have been in since We will be sharing our facility with CTES and we look forward to working closer and sharing ideas together. The latest expansion of TOT will allow us to increase our machining capacity by 35%. We have installed several new machines into the facility that will allow us to increase our production on large bore coiled tubing BOP s. The coiled tubing market has grown tremendously in the last 5 years and we are fortunate enough to be a part of the growth. Additions to the new facility include a training room and hands on workshop for both CTES and TOT to allow us to conduct classes on coiled tubing and pressure control equipment. The hands on workshop will provide a means to train on BOP and pressure control service and maintenance. The new facility will increase our training capacity and help our customers learn more about our equipment. The research and development lab has expanded to include a large area for assembly and a bigger test pit. The additional square footage gives us an isolated area to work on our subsea products. The increased pit size 30 long will handle larger equipment and provide a safer area for gas testing. The testing area will enhance our product verification and qualification testing capabilities. We have several new products and ideas we will be running through our lab. The new facility has dedicated areas for service and recertification, a market that has increased in the last couple of years. Several customers have expressed renewed interest in recertification of BOP s and pressure control equipment. Production capacity in our testing department has increased 33% which will allow us to increase our throughput through assembly and test. 6 Hydra Rig introduces the MiniCoil Compact Well Intervention Unit The Compact MiniCoil is a coiled tubing unit divided into modular, small footprint, low weight offshore-style skids. The Mini-coil has been specifically designed to coiled tubing intervention on locations both offshore and onshore that have limited crane capacity and/or limited deck space. The compact, modular design allow the operator work on wells previously unsuitable for conventional coiled tubing units. Each module is specifically designed to minimise weight and footprint size while still maintaining full coiled tubing operability Each module is approved to DNV and suitable for use in Zone 2 hazardous areas. DID reel base, DID drum and cradle HR 420C for 1/4 to 1 pipe 20,000 lbs rated pull The power, hydraulic and control modules will drive and control a number of well-intervention conventional and capillary coiled tubing injectors. The Control Module contains the main controls. It features direct hydraulic controls compatible with most CT injectors, well control and tubing reels. NOV Electronic instrumentation is provided for weight and depth. Injector transport skid Compact DID tubing reel with removable drum The compact DID tubing reel base and drop in drum are designed to handle most capillary and small OD coiled tubing in the following sizes 3/8, ½, 5/8, ¾ and 1 tubing diameters. The HR420C injector has a rated pull capacity of 20,000 lbs and can operate with tubing sizes from ¼ through to 1 by the use of suitably sized gripper style chains. In addition to the mini-coil, we will soon be introducing support equipment to compliment the mini-coil. A 25K, 10,000 psi nitrogen unit and a 10,000 psi well service fluid pump. Both packages will use the same basic arrangement with the added advantage of compatibility of the engine packages to offer back-up offshore. Page 6

7 NOV Rolligon Increases Manufacturing Space to Support Industry Growth Manufacturing Facility in Bryan, Texas With new additions totaling 100,000 square feet, NOV Rolligon has had a dramatic impact on improving the production time of equipment. The manufacturing expansion is part of Rolligon s aggressive growth strategy that aligns with the increased business in hydraulic fracturing. Part of the expansion includes a new 75,000 square foot manufacturing facility located in Bryan, Texas. Rolligon has also added a new state of the art paint and blast booth, LAS test line, and high pressure test line to the Carlos, Texas, facility increasing the manufacturing space by 25,000 square feet. Las Test Line at Carlos, Texas Facility in Bryan, Texas The new Bryan, Texas, manufacturing facility has played a large role in decreasing lead times on fracturing and stimulation equipment. With the addition of two new test lines, Rolligon is now able to test more units at one time. The new paint booth is equipped with a curing/bake system, which will accelerate the curing cycle decreasing the amount of drying time needed for painted items. The blast room will confine the blasting operation to a controlled clean environment that will enable efficient abrasive recycling. NOV Rolligon has already been able to see the effect that the new additions have had in reducing the production time and lead time of equipment. Page 7 Facility in Carlos, Texas
