A new hybrid turf system for sport fields A natural turf pitch with less maintenance and more hours of use is now a reality In Palau cooperation Hybrid Turf with a Sit-In new system Sport, to the change artificial the grass technology producer

A system born to get success Inspired by our passion

System benefits Advantages for players and coaches: More hours of use thanks to the turf roots protection and grip. More uniformed field without pot holes and any other irregularities. Decrease of injury risk on football players. Better elastic field maintenance and soil ventilation thanks to two innovative components. (elastic layer and specific non-woven). Maintenance advantages: Mechanical maintenance reduction: no need neither aerating nor scarifying. Reduction of insects risk and pathogenic infection. No waterlogged thanks to excellent drainage. OK! Now all are advantages for clubs manager, owners and players

How it works Natural turf Artificial turf fibres + backing Sand filling + specific mix Selective insulating material Elastic layer (measures in mm) Grass roots Sand subsoil + specific mix

Natural Turf The natural turf seed is planted between 0,5-2 cm above the artificial turf backing. The chosen seed variety depends on the climatic area where the field is placed and the sport being played. The natural turf roots are able to grow without any problems thorough the synthetic turf backing, the selective insulating material and the elastic layer. As a consequence of all materials the roots have to go through, their moorings grow stronger. Synthetic turf line To the eye, the result is a perfect natural pitch, except from the lines that could be 100 % made of synthetic turf. Forget about painting the lines never again!

Artificial Turf (yarns + backing + infill) The artificial turf highly protects the natural turf fibres absorbing part of the forces produced during the game. The sand and specific mix are used as a supportive element during seed plantation. Moreover, they reinforce the stability of synthetic fibres. Placing the backing above helps blocking lateral forces and prevents divots coming out out like usually happens in a natural turf field. Strength Barrior We don t want to see this at all!

Selective insulating material + elastic layer The insulating material does not allow the sand particles to be filtered. On the other hand, however, it allows the roots to go throught it and grow. Thus, an air cavity is created within the holes of the elastic layer. These two elements together provide the following properties: a) Constant air flow to the roots and reduction of compression. b) Difficult pathogenic spreading because of being a hydroponic environment. c) Unlikely for the insects/animals and their larvas to reach the roots. d) Temperature is longer kept. Compacting force Insects Elastic response O2 O2 O2 (hydroponic enviroment. without soil)

Sand subsoil Roots are fixed and grow in optimum conditions in this layer. Long term fertilisers are applied in the soil. The selective sand is mix together elastic granules to improve ventilation. Thanks to the hydroponic layer oxygenation and to the no compacted soil, roots can grow until 30 cm depth. A deep root zone in the soil gives: Enormous capability to absorb water and nutrients. Better resistance to hydrological stress. Extreme resistance to soil erosion. Excellent recovery after damages or non propitious periods. Palau Turf Hybrid real sample

Complete system vision

Prevention system against insects/animals, larvas and fungus Thanks to the non-woven part and the holes in the elastic material, a layer where is formed with absence of substrate and thus, it makes difficult for insects and fungus to cause damage. Insects/animals - larva The most harmful insects for the turf are those whose larvas eat the turf roots. If that occurs that, the only way to fix it is sewing or placing new turf. Now, presents an innovative combination of non-woven material plus an elastic layer which does allow the larvas to get to the roots. Efficiency against destructive larvas

Pathogenic fungus A variety of fungus such as Phytium,Fusarium, Sclerotinia, Rizhoctonia cause important disease to the turf. Fungus infected turf In order to prevent those fungus infections, it is highly important: - To have a well nourished turf - Keep a good aereation - A good drainage - Control thatch accumulation Palau Hybrid offers a more resistant turf pitch. Less risk of infection

Palau Hybrid it is possible to change from natural to syntetic turf Natural turf it is only natural turf 300 % more use than natural not much use better drainage - good game with rain ready for intensive use. Always looks great grass never jump out (no divots) permanently painted lines (save in paint) better and uniformed field elasticity (thanks to elastic layer) it is not required any kind of aereation the hydroponic layer is always delivering oxygen. the hydroponic layer prevents from fungus. the insulating material does not allow larvas get the roots. problems playing with rain turf not uniformed due to excessive or bad use when playing, pieces of turf usually removed from turf regular need for lines to be painted constant compression and irregular depends on the area. essential to aereate often and scarify hydroponic layer does not exist hydroponic layer does not exist hydroponic layer does not exist reduction of needed water high need of water

HybridTurf System vs natural turf and synthetic turf Playing hours per week The Hybrid system allows much more playing hours than natural turf.

Maintenance Cost (k ) The Hybrid system maintenance cost is inferior than the natural maintenance cost.

Maintenance cost / hour of use ( /h) The Hybrid system maintenance cost per hour of use is inferior comparing with natural
